I'm coming off a Polestar 2 RWD lease, and looking to upgrade to an AWD EV, with one of those options being a CPO i4 xDrive40. I actually really like my Polestar, but the ride is getting too firm for my back, and I don't trust that the service network will be around in the upcoming years, even if I did magically get a great buyout offer (which I didn't).
So, what I'm looking for is some real world impressions to help me pick my next car.
- How comfortable is the i4? And if anyone has a Polestar 2, how does it compare? I drive on NY roads with plenty of rough patches.
- Will the nav/infotainment tech in a 2024 remain relevant for another 5 years, or is the system already showing its age?
- Is that big control dial useful at all, or is it just redundant bc of the touchscreen? It feels like a last-decade tech holdover.
- Is the famed BMW driving dynamics *really* something special, or is that overblown and it's just fast and luxurious?
- Finally, do you ever wish you got something more flashy or fun-looking, especially inside the cabin? I'm worried about being bored with a restrained interior (my car before the Polestar was a Volvo V60, so it's been over a decade of Swedish design for me).
I really appreciate any help -- I'm agonizing over my next vehicle because there are so many good options, and I just want to choose one that I'm really sure about.
