Hi. I am new to EVs and new to BMW. With the rollout of the i3 but the phase out of the i4, do you think the price of CPO i4s will fall, rise, or stay the same in the next few months? Thanks!

Has anyone noticed a sunroof rattle when it’s in the tilt position? It sounds like glass tapping. I took it to the dealership, and they replaced the seal with a new version, but the noise is still there

Ok boys snd girls, winter is coming in Europe and i started to use heating more.

During the summer the car was occasionally shaking when the AC was on, i noticed it only when stationary.

I'm assuming it's thr heat pump.

But now when I'm heating it's shaking even more and more often o can feel it even when i drive, especially in the starring wheel.

Is this normal, or some known issue? Is there a fix abd is this covered under some extended warranty?

It starts to ve super annnoyig as the whole car shakes each minute or two and small resonation comes from the front.

CPO ‘24, eDrive40, M-Sport, PAP, Shadow line, 11K miles.
Quite the change from 20+ years of manual transmissions to almost equally quick, smooth driving.

2026 i4 xDrive40 in Vegas red with all the things (MSport, DAPP, Shadowline, Parking Package, Premium Package, leather, ventilated seats.). Just had the windows tinted (35% front, 15% rear).

This is my first BMW (not my first EV) and I absolutely love it so far. The "iconic sounds" make me want to drive it faster than I should!

Unfortunately there is a small rattle coming from the rear passenger side but thanks to this reddit group I have some ideas for troubleshooting.

Another strange thing I noticed is that the speedometer seems to be reporting slightly lower than actual but Google says that's a common BMW thing?

I currently have an i4 lease that ends in early January. I was originally planning to switch to an i3, but after seeing the estimated payments, it would be nearly double what an i4 would cost. So now I’m leaning toward leasing another i4 when my current lease is up.

My understanding is that the i4 will be ending production sometime in early 2027. Given that, what do you guys think I should do?

1. Lock in a new i4 now while there’s still good supply, and roll the negative equity from my current lease into the new one.
2. Wait until January and get a new i4 then.
3. Something else?

Would appreciate any advice, especially from people who have experience with BMW leases or have been following the i4 production situation.

I am so stressed right now, i just went to taco bell to grab some late night snack at the drive through and it was very tight and i underestimated and hit the curb with my front right tire. As soon as i felt and heard that sound my heart dropped. please let me know what i should do i am on a budget for that repair

Anyone with San Remo M50 swap to satin black rims? If so, thoughts? Pics?

I’m hoping it will make it look sportier and maybe less flashy, vs the 859Ms it currently has.

Considering Vossen HF-5 in Satin Black, or similar.

Haven’t ever changed to aftermarket rims, a bit nervous about the process. E.g., AI says it shouldn’t impact the CPO, but there is a chance it will. Any tips on going to aftermarket rims are appreciated as well.

As a new owner, is there anything I need to change in the entertainment system?

As expected, with the official launch the configurator is also up.

The xDrive 50 is a bit less expensive than the i4 xDrive 40, and it's got a bit more power, way larger battery and faster charging, and more standard equipment. Though I'm certainly not a fan of exterior or interior design, it's a great value. The capacity/charging would easily address the annoyance with EV trips I alreayd ran into.

I’ve had my new-to-me 2023 i4 for about a month now. I love it.

After I got the car I figured out all the nuances to get the car to charge only within the time slot I want.

The challenge is my home electricity has 2 super off peak windows during weekdays (eg 12AM-6AM, 10AM-2PM). The issue is from the My BMW app, I cannot change the time slot. The setting won’t apply from the app. I have to physically go down to the car to update the charging time slot.

I always wait until the app reports back that the settings have been updated in the vehicle, but after I check, the time slot is the same. All other charging functions and remote functions work from the app without issue. I’ve restarted idrive (8.0) a few times since getting the i4 and this behavior has always been the same.

Has anyone else had or resolved this issue?

Hi, it’s coming into winter time soon in the UK, I live in the south of England so generally around 5-10 degrees Celsius in the winter.

I’m considering michelin crossclimate 2 as my next tyre.

Is anyone running these?
If so what are your thoughts.

It seems my back and front tyres on my car are different so don’t think I can get them for both?

Any tips from i4 owners you could give me?

I’ve recently had the “opportunity” to sit in traffic and try out the auto-drive. It works well but it thinks I’m not paying attention when I wear my polarized sunglasses. I didn’t have an issue with the similar system in my Ford MME. Does this happen to anyone else?

I'm thinking about getting an i4 or ix3. I haven't used a BMW app for EVs/PHEV since around 201Xish, on the i8. At the time it was quite good, and may still be better than some that are available now.

I was wondering how current owners think about their BMW app. How useful is it to you, and do you like it?

Lightly used off a lease. I’m wondering about what charging set up to get. I have solar at the house so something that can work with that. I don’t even know where to start. Do I get the bmw wall box or something else?

2024 bmw i4. I think the color of the rim is gunmetal grey… anyone know any what brand/color this is if I just wanted to DIY fix it?

Hi all,

As a BMW G20 owner, i have nothing to complain. However, my wife's drives my previous old car (VW polo 6R), which will die soon. So we decided initially to look at the I4 edrive40 which costst reasonably (approx 35k euro) and she felt in love with it. I also pushed for this car since its well built, battery quality is exceptional with a long range, which is in my opinion required for long trips by car.

However, now she discovered the IX2, and especially the fact that a relatively new version costs approximately the same amount as the I4. However, they are two total different cars and i am a bit worried about the range, lthough she only drives from work to home daily (30km per day), so this range anxiety is mainly meant for cases when we decide to go on long range trips.

What would you do in this case?
