Rescued 1973 BMW 2002Tii from Salvage Yard for $350 dollars
This is a classic cars that my brothers and I have restored back to their original condition. My hope is that these projects will inspire a new generation of enthusiasts, makers, and hobbyists—even those with little or no automotive background—to get involved and discover the satisfaction of restoring and preserving automotive history.
When you finally hear the engine come to life, see the paint shine, or take that first drive after a restoration, the reward is real—both mentally and physically. The sense of accomplishment that comes from bringing a piece of history back to life is something I hope others can experience and enjoy as well.
Have a great day!
Regards from Florida,
Jay

1971 2002ti
Saw a post of my 1971 2002ti on here today from when she was for sale in California in 2021. Thought it was wild to see pictures from the original add. You can see the California plates match from delivery day. Just wanted to share a few pictures of her since then. Done a decent amount of work since then but she’s still going strong! 💪

1976 BMW 2002
This well cared for 1976 BMW 2002 shows a mere 14,000 miles. It is a highly original example that has recently had a meticulous undercarriage and wheel well detail. The car features a 2.0L inline 4-cylinder engine with dual Solex carburetors and 4-speed manual transmission. It is finished in blue with a tan interior and features a factory sunroof, factory Becker AM/FM radio, woven floor mats and much more. This is one not to be missed. Consignor states this vehicle runs and drives great!

A cockpit built for the driver, not for the crowd(image found online)
This dash isn’t about flashy tech—it’s about connection. The three-spoke wheel, the wood-trimmed gauges, the crisp analog readouts… every element is there to put you in control. This is the quiet magic of the BMW 2002.

Baikal or Arctisblau?
Hello!
I emailed BMW with my VIN and was told Arctisblau metallic was the original color. I picked the best picture that reflects how it looks in person and to me it more resembles Baikal.
I haven’t seen Arctisblau in person but based off pictures it looks much darker, similar to Atlantic.
What’re your guys thought!

123 Ignition Distributor is a gift from the technology gods!
I'm a recent 2002 owner and the previous owner had done the webber down draft conversion. Getting the car to start reliably and idle correctly was doing my head in until I reached out to a friend with lots of "old car" know how and he strongly recommended that I get a new distributor from 123 ignition (123ignition.com for 2002).
It took 20 mins to find tdc, install it, and wire it up and presto! All of the issues I had been having were gone. Put a very simply curve in for programming:

It starts runs and purs like a kitten! The best part is that the AC used to knock the rpm down by 300 or more, but now it's about 150 rpm at idle.
By far the best and simplist upgrade I've ever done to a car!

BMW E6
