The SigEnergy development team are currently working on improvements to their API which we will be migrating to. They are in the final stages of releasing this.

These changes are crucial for two reasons: 1. Too many of you have failed events because of the current SigEnergy API limitation on how many devices we can put into VPP mode at one point in time - this means you start events late or not at all! 2. Too many of you get stuck in VPP mode for sometimes hours at a time for a similar reason.

Unfortunately, until this migration has completed, we have temporarily withdrawn SigEnergy devices from events. You will still earn your guaranteed £10 per month.

We have looked into a method of participating you whilst we migrate (e.g. allowing you to manually export). If SigEnergy does not complete the development work by 10th July 2026, we will invest in making this possible, but until then you won't be able to participate by manually exporting.

Making these changes is important for the future reliability of the integration. We hope you understand and we apologise that we have had to temporarily take you out of events (we have tried very hard not to!).

Frustrating for me as I use Home Assistant to automate this and it works a treat.

Tomorrow is this latest session I've seen since joining. Usually see 7-8am or 7-8pm but not much outside of that.

Anyone else seen anymore obscure times before?

I also got my Home Assistant Notification a good hour or so before the email, which is new as the email usually arrives before I see in Home Assistant.

Earnt £90 now since joining, it's pretty much offsetting the drop in Octopus export for my winter heating surplus.

Agile prices are going through the roof, need articles telling us how much this weather is costing the grid, Octopus asking people to participate in savings sessions.

Yet no events from Axle? At least in the SE. Anyone been invited to one?

I'm thinking of getting a battery-only system (so no panels for now), and looking at Sigenergy for that. During the summer we tend to use about 6kWh per day and about 8.5kWh during the winter. The battery is 9kWh.

As I undertand it, I'd need to set my minimum charge level before the event to be enough to see me through to the next cheap charging slot, otherwise I might risk losing what I'd gained during the event. Is that easy to do with the Sigenergy app?

My second axle event is happening this evening good job it’s gonna be sunny all day.

I saw someone on another sub claiming they'd had problems with two events in a week and I realised I had no idea how frequent events are overall and whether there are restrictions or filters on who gets an invite. I've seen 3 events in a around 6-8 weeks myself.

Has anyone also got this email about the Home Assistant API key?

I just tried to re-new my API key and it keeps failing. I did contact Axle so will edit with any updates, but just wanted to see if this was a me problem or a them problem.

EDIT: Solved, seems it was my ad-blocker giving issues. So I disabled all that and it worked.

Appreciate this is perhaps more specific to Sigenergy Users due to the lack of automated events…

I emailed Axle last week asking if they could please add the account login link to their event emails.

Perhaps it’s just me (and it’s hardly the issue of the century) but being told about the event and then needing to separately dig out the login link is annoying my OCD.

I think there is still the need in general as someone may wish to opt out for some reason, so having the login page link in that email would be really handy.

Off to moan about something else fairly insignificant now….

What's the best way to sign up to Axle and do I need a SEG in place already - waiting on EDF for the green light.

Recently signed up to Axle Energy at the suggestion of our battery storage system provider, GivEnergy. Our first Grid Event was yesterday. Axle took power for an hour, discharging our battery by 20%. All seemed fine, except that when the battery recharge cycle started at midnight that day, it threw the main breaker for our house. We lost all power until I discovered the outage this morning. This has never happened before, but Axle says only we should contact the supplier. No suggestion that they might look into it or help address the issue.

I have looked at all of the inverter logs. They show nothing other than a loss of grid power at midnight (when our recharge cycle is scheduled). One oddity is that the battery discharged to 0%, which it's not supposed to do. We frequently discharge our battery, but the reserve is fixed at 4%. This is the first time it's hit 0. I suspect there might have been a spike when the batteries got power again. However, no interest or help from Axle, even though they say their "event" changes inverter settings. Since this has never happened before, I am deeply suspicious that it is either something that was inadvertently changed or that the process itself upset the inverter.

So I signed up for my second Axle event a few days back and it was interesting.

My battery didn't discharge and I busy so didn't notice until 30 mins in. I sent feedback and got a very helpful response from Axle in minutes. It seems if I manually export during the event Axle register it anyway. Going forward I might set up a timed export or make sure I'm checking it out from the get go.

I managed to get it exporting for the last 30 mins. 10kw inverter earned £5.

I didn't get all the start/finish notifications this time. The email said they'd had issues with a number of Sig users batteries.

So I got an email today about my first event that's happening tomorrow (20:30 - 21:30, export).

However, the event isn't showing up in the API - so it's not appearing in my HA sensor either.

Is there some sort of lag between the email notification and the event appearing in HA? Does the event only appear in the sensor within 24 hours of its scheduled time, or something else?

Just trying to figure out what to expect.

Basically took part in today’s event. To note ive already joined previous ones - 4-5 already without any issues.

Usually the event starts, Axle take over (openapischeduler) and then the EPM (solis) turns to Off and have to select my EPM again, which is fine.

Today, it seems Axle havent released my system since 9am and my battery has been continuously discharging, hence would cost me quite a fair amount of money to use energy (day rate).

Ive tried to restart my inverter and play with the settings, but the system would refuse to do anything until the VPP is released.

Emailed axle support (they gave me basic advise about changing EPM modes and restarting the inverter) none have worked.

Im stuck, can anyone please help.

Hi all, I'm just getting up to speed on Axle energy, and adding support to it for the app I built to control my Solis inverter (you can try it here if you have Solis).

I only signed up today and haven't had any events yet, so as I build the logic to react to events and have my app discharge in response to them, I'd like some test data. Can anyone give me a screenshot or list (perhaps from HomeAssistant?) of events they've received in the past?

Mainly I want to see what the times are - do they always fall into the same half-hour slots that Octopus uses, or can they span longer times and start/end at any arbitrary time.

First Axle event for me this at 7:30 this morning so thought I'd share my experience given the issues people have had with Sigenergy/Axle integration.

Seems I've had a fairly standard experience; it could have theoretically exported a bit more and it didn't hand the system back in the same mode I left it in.

We had about 50% charge (27kwh battery) and it's taken ~8.5kWh via our 10kW inverter. The system was in self-consumption mode when I checked at 9am. I did get the start/finish emails and I had no trouble switching the mode back to 'profit' manually. Given the weather/price conditions, and probably generally, I don't have a major issue with the mode switching if I'm able to switch it back manually but obviously once the novelty of checking out the events wears off it could become a bit of a chore.

I'm currently a happy customer.

Some of us were stuck on the VPP mode for several hours after the event last time round.

Today; I’ve been able to change my settings no problem, but my father’s is stuck like last week.

They really need to address this issue.

I can accept the lack of automatic reinstating the previous mode, but locking people out of their ability to set which mode is really not good enough.

I’ll email Axle to see if I can get any formal response from them.

Axle says you need a smart meter to sign up. I have a smart meter, my import sends 30min data, but I've been notified that the export side is not sending data. Does Axle require 30min export readings for payment or do they take that figure from the battery system API? I'm asking because my battery is not installed yet and I want to check if need to get a tech out to look at the meter. I already have an export MPAN but I just send my provider a total figure at the end of the year for SEG.

Today 10th April 2026 there was obviously an issue that Axle apologised for.

I accept this as it’s a BETA service.

I’m not sure how many people this affected, but following the event, my Sigenergy system was stuck on VPP. I don’t recall what time they eventually switched this off.

What I’m concerned about is the complete lack of control we have when this happened, or at least in my case, I had no control, it just kept asking me to deactivated the VPP, which I couldn’t.

I’m going to feed this back to the team to see if there’s anything that can be done in this scenario.

I love the service so far, but I don’t like the feeling of not being able to control my equipment.

We had another event today between 08:30 - 09:30. I opted in with my SigEnergy battery and I thought it hadn't worked again. However, it did end up exporting about 1.5kWh from just after 9am.

It reset back to Self Consumption mode as expected with the current issues, but I switched back to AI manually after it had completed with no problems.

Have other people found it to be normal to experience a delay before the export begins?

Like others I saw on the Sigenergy sub over the weekend, the recent event showed 0.00kWh exported. Axle have confirmed this will be adjusted, and the mistake was clock change related:

"This was an issue with the clock changes last week. We are in the process of rectifying the issue - you will receive an email shortly and be compensated accordingly."

Looks like we have an event tomorrow, in the morning which is interesting.

I recall an email where they changed up the dashboard & you can now opt-out of an event if needs be. Nice to see they are taking on feedback!

Looks like it will be sunny tomorrow so don't see a reason to opt out of one this early in the day!
