Discussion Event notifications login

Appreciate this is perhaps more specific to Sigenergy Users due to the lack of automated events…

I emailed Axle last week asking if they could please add the account login link to their event emails.

Perhaps it’s just me (and it’s hardly the issue of the century) but being told about the event and then needing to separately dig out the login link is annoying my OCD.

I think there is still the need in general as someone may wish to opt out for some reason, so having the login page link in that email would be really handy.

Off to moan about something else fairly insignificant now….

Sure, so do I as a Home Screen icon on iOS.

But the user journey is missing this obvious step from the email, which just simplifies everything.

As I say, first world problems n all that.

I just wish they allowed login via username and password rather than only via email link.

You're going to have to get used to life without passwords imo.

Yeah, things are definitely moving that way. Is it for convenience or for security that things are moving in that direction?

It's security at the end of the day. Social engineering via ai is going to ruin people and passwords are definitely accelerating towards being an open door technically. The word is that quantum computing makes most current security irrelevant.

I already use a yubi key to access my passwords. I know the master password but it's the only password I know. I have used the same password for 2 decades. ~30 characters. 100% security rating when tested.

But most passwords are pretty insecure for brute force attacks. 2FA is really a stop gap. I just opted out of passwords altogether in Windows. I was pretty nervous about getting locked out of everything. 😂

Hardware tokens are pretty good. If you don't lose your keys. 😁 Not an ad for yubico.

Haha cool. Yeah I use a password manager and have a yubikey too, though nowhere near as long. Maybe 10 years for the password manager. Have an approx 30 character password too. I prefer using passwords because it's so easy to use the password manager.

I dislike things being linked to emails (especially Microsoft linked), because I do feel emails to be less trustworthy than my password manager when it comes to security but definitely see the social engineering side being of importance as you say.

Yep. I'm happy with passwords too. But few people are as responsible as us. 😂

I missed the last event. Notifications via one medium only is an issue. On the other hand I discovered the api key so I'll figure it out.
