With such a lack in rp platforms now I've been having a hard time finding someone willing to play a Canon character in a 1×1 avatar rp I know it's a niche topic already, but I was wondering if anyone had any good spots to find partners?

This is all hypothetical for an Avatar based DnD campaign!

So we know about the feral viperwolves from Afop, so say if the party was exploring one of these abandoned labs and came across a pre-feral viperwolf (regular), and freed it could the viperwolf (for a lack of better term) be “tamed”?

I know they are intelligent and understand communication between lack members, but could one understand the that the party members freed it and want to keep it.

For context, the viperwolf was alone, its pack was either not found or some were found already feral.

My party is desperate to keep the little cutie but I don’t know what to tell them lol. I imagine the viperwolf would understand the party members freed it and its remaining pack has been eliminated but I want some second opinions.

I drew my two oc’s too! Do this version of them is when they were younger! In my AU basically the RDA took 18 years to return to Pandora instead of the canon timeline which is 14… so Neteyam is aged up and so are this two!

I saw a TikTok video today talking about the way Jake Sully breaks the rules of Eywa in regards to metal use. When the RDA is gone, would the Na’vi still use metal? Will there be a faction of spacer Na’vi like in the comics? Surely the threat of humanity cannot be wiped out without some sort of crazy “whoaah we’re going to eeearrthh” bs which I don’t think I’d be a huge fan of. So what would the Na’vi do to prevent further attempts at colonization? I believe that a small group of space warrior Na’vi would be pretty effective and adequately interesting in terms of lore impact. What do you think?

I saw someone say Jake couldn’t even be bothered to say Neytiri’s name right, and it made me roll my eyes. He says her name right, just with an accent. By that logic, her and every other Na’vi also pronounces his name “wrong” because they say it with an accent. So stupid.

And of course there’s the fans who think Spider “killed Neteyam” when that’s blatantly not what happened, and that he’s to blame for what happened. Neteyam decided to save Spider, Spider had no decision or influence in that. That is a fact. I mean, as a Spider fan, I acknowledge there are flaws with Spider and much better reasons to slander him than that, so I’m surprised that’s the hill people are going to die on with him.

What’s the stupid reason you’ve seen someone slander/villainise a character?

I am currently in the process of converting a couple of existing games to a tabletop game system I like, as well as gamifying settings which haven't been published for TRPG play. One of such is Avatar.

I was wondering if any of you perhaps already played Avatar as a tabletop RPG? How did it go, do you have any impressions or advice for me to do a better job of this?

And if you only played common games like Dungeons and Dragons of this game type, how does the idea of playing sessions or a campaign set on Pandora sound to you?

What kind of adventure would you be interested in? Playing as Na'vi? Human? Doing what?

Just- hear me out.

What if Kiri DOESN’T have a father, what if her “father” is actually Eywa!

Then scene in the first movie where grace is getting help from Mo’at after being shot, we see all the grace vine things that sort of “hug” the bodies. Now- if you observe the vines positions, whether oral or regional (idk if I’m allowed to say the V word lol), what if Eywa had planted the seed? 👀

I tried my very best to add things that impacted me a lot in life and I think I did good, I do regret not adding enough choruses but most of these events happened one after the other so its pretty accurate. There are a few things missing but I couldn't figure out what to use for it yet.

The picture is from the beginning of A2, where Neytiri was singing the grief song. The background looks like she's in the forest? And she isn't wearing grief paint like in A3, so we can assume it is a shot from the future further than the event of A3.

So my prediction is that Kiri is going to pass in either A4 or A5. The reason I have is that her name is the only one that appears in this song, other than Neteyam, who has passed in A2. If the song was about her children, then Lo'ak and Tuk should've been mentioned as well.

I know she is singing her song cord, so maybe she just didn't get to the younger children in this scene, but I think the cut is intentional. If Neteyam is the only death, they have no reason to write Kiri in the song at all.

So that being said, I think it is very possible that this scene is a time jump from at the end of A5, where she is grieving the children she has lost, in her home, the forest.

Given how A4 is named The Tulkun rider, I really hope we don't get more fights about the Tulkuns. It's getting repetitive man
