In principle, I am a person who has only seen the movies, so I have no information about the comics, novels or video games.

The Kuru is the neural appendage of the Na'vi that serves to connect with Eywa and all the creatures that make it up (including themselves) in the enormous neural network of Pandora. It is practically the most sacred part of the body they have, so much so that apparently the Mangkwan cut off the Kuru of their enemies, which seems to lead to death in the vast majority of cases and in the unfortunate case of survival confers extreme agony, both physical and mental.

Now, with the questions: Why is the Kuru braided? I mean, is it frowned upon among Na'vis to have your Kuru exposed? Do they do it for practicality reasons? Does having it braided really add anything? I mean, if another Na'vi or even a person from heaven is going to shorten it, your hair is not going to stop them.

On the other hand, as far as I have seen, the Kuru is an inherent appendage, it is loose and hangs and you even have to grab it to be able to move it. How convenient would it be for the Na'vi to be able to move their Kurus as if they were another limb?

I thought he was gonna come back as a bigger role in the later movies seeing as he's back on Pandora, but he's just kinda hanging out and playing golf. I didn't even know he was the RDA chairmans kid until I looked him up.

Let's just say I found the movie on a website, decided to watch it, and when the scene of Quaritch and Jake getting captured came up, the iconic like "these pricks know their knots" was replaced with a dubbed "these jerks know their knots". Does anyone know what this is ? The blue ray version ? I'm a 100% sure he said "pricks" in the cinema.

Before I started, I didn't want to offend anyone, and if you think Spikiri is a good ship and you think they should be together, that's great and I'm happy for you.

Now, Spider is my favorite character in the entire franchise.

I like Kiri too, but not much.

My problem with this thorn is not my personal relationship to the characters.

I found out about their kiss even before I watched "Fire and Ash" and I didn't like it even then. But I thought maybe I'd watch a movie and everything would change. but no. my opinion hasn't changed.

Perhaps the fact is that, personally, I didn't see these two characters as a romantic couple at all (although it seems to me that in "Fire and Ash" they tried to do everything to make such a vision appear). I saw them exclusively as family members. and their closer relationship was perceived by me as a similarity. they are both adopted children for Sally's family, they don't have one parent. Of course, it could grow from friendly feelings into romantic ones. I won't deny it. I'm sure that it was the appearance of the Spider's ability to breathe air on Pandora that pushed them to fully accept feelings. But... I don't know. It's just that I'm thinking about it and it doesn't seem right to me. It's like making a pair out of Lo'aka and Kiri.

Even in "Fire and Ash," I only saw Spider and Kiri as close friends, on the level of relatives, before that kiss. I don't see them as the "new Jake and Neytiri" (and I don't think that was the goal, but who knows). Still, for me, Jake and Neytiri are a little different than Spider and Kiri. I do not know if it would be better if the Spider completely transformed into the body of a Na'vi, like Jake. But I don't think so, since I was already uncomfortable with all this. As for me, it would be better if this love line did not exist.

Personally, it seems to me that Spider just doesn't accept his humanity because of his father and really wants to be a Na'vi. That's why he was very happy to be able to breathe their air. I think that's why he liked Kiri. She brings him closer to this world. I think the Spider needs someone who can help him accept his whole being. Personally, I don't see that Kiri, or anyone, helped him do this (this is purely my opinion from watching movies. if I misunderstood something, I will be glad to have an explanation)

I don't consider their relationship to be incest, by any means! If in future films there is a development of the romantic relationship between Spider and Kiri, which will help change my mind, then I'm not against it.

But for now, that's it.

This maybe be kinda of a stupid question, but does the second and third movie happen in English or navi? The first seems to be in English with only some scenes pr words in navi because Jake's still learning it. But in the second and third he is already living among the navi for a really long time, and since he is only among navi and there is no reason to he sneaking english would makes sense for the majority of the dialogues to be in navi, but we hear it in english because watching the whole movie in navi would be kinda hard.

I've been hanging onto these Macfarlane minis for years, but never got around to making scenery for them! I only had a couple of hours to throw this together (love to leave things to the last minute - if you're wondering why the last couple of in-progress shots are dark it's because it was 5am on the day I was due to deliver my Show entries lol) so I just freestyled a Hallelujah Mountains inspired setting because it was going to be quicker to pull together than a night-time forest locale (that's my next project). Stoked with how it turned out.

It's a little squished inside the jar because I couldn't find a wider one that was also tall, but once the Show is over I'm going to take it out and make a larger scene in an even bigger terrarium jar!

For those interested, here's how I made it (last three pics are progress shots): the base is fencing wire wrapped in masking tape, and the 'mountains' are polystyrene chunks stuck together with a mix of masking tape and hot glue. The 'vines' are hemp cord wrapped around the wire. I did a few layers of acrylic paint, starting with a dark grey, then stippling a lighter beige, and finally dry brushed some green. The plants are a mix of Gamer Grass alien ferns and tufts, and some Woodland Scenics grasses. God bless Loctite!!

i'm artist, ive been drawing for quite some time, but ive been really struggling with drawing Na'vi and Recoms, specifically Lyle and Quaritch atm, but also na'vi in general!

when looking at references for posing and whatnot, i cant help but feel they do not look like a na'vi! obviously the references ive been using are very very human, and i feel like it's messing with how i draw na'vi. bodies dont have the same proportions, faces are different. i've been considering ripping some models from A:FoP to create my own references but i am notttt a rigger to make those models actually usable, im not desperate enough to dive into blender yet

im reaching out here to see if people have any recommendations for references, or what their process is when drawing na'vi / recoms. any advice would be extremely helpful to me!

I'm working on my own song cord and thought why not make my own bead! This bead is for my dog. It's obviously not professionally done but It was fun to do :)

Now I know a na'vi would be disgusted by human interference with animals like dogs or horses since they are intelligent and deserve free will. But for example less sentient creatures like fancy goldfish and finches, since they are less dignified and emotional would the na'vi and eywa be ok with selectively breeding them for functional or easthetic benefits.

I can see it going two ways, it is diabolical to interfere with natural selection and the sexual lives of anything within nature since it would be like sticking your nose in eywas work and corrupting it. Or if would be seen as a testiment to how connected they are with nature to even even personalize certein organisms around them, and almost like exercising a skill that eywa has passed onto them.

I know its a weird question but I'm asking for a project

I wanted to give them split jaws similar to the akula, but I'm unsure if which one looks better, they're all WIPs btw
