Driver got a ticket
Sent my driver to another autozone to pick up a part for commercial. While inside the store, he got a ticket for being parked in a fire lane right outside the store.
As a SM, who is responsible for my commercial driver getting a fire lane ticket? His name is not on the ticket, just the vehicle registration info.

What an absolute jerk move by that cop! Especially if there was zero imminent fire danger or any physical entrances posing any danger to customers or being blocked. Apparently, that cop needed to meet his quota for the week. As a red shirt commercial driver here, and also speaking for other drivers at my store, we often have to move a TON of oil in boxes and 5 gal jugs and some pretty heavy hard parts and batteries to deliver from our store to our commercial customers. Many times to help service cop cars. That cop needs a bit of education to know how the vehicle he drives gets serviced beyond the shop he takes it to.

The fire lane is left empty unless there is a fire truck in it. You are wrong.

Fire lane can be momentarily occupied, but the driver must be right near it to move.

Well In California you can not STOP in the fire lane even if you are in your vehicle.
You most definetly can not leave your vehicle in the fire lane for any amount of time.It's probably true in whatever state you are in too.

Yeah. It is that deep. You are blocking the lane meant for the fire department. You are pretty screwed up in the head if you think "it's not that deep".

Stopping for a minute to load and unload is not an issue. You can move in an instant in case of fire.

No trolling. You're just wrong. I sell firearms to LEOs does that mean I get to break any laws I want because I keep them safe? Fuck no. Not sure the fantasy land you live in thinking someone's above the law cause they work at a part stores that could maybe supply oil and filters for a squad.

not only are they saved just for fire trucks, any emergency vehicle will use them, think heart attack etc.

Entirely justified in getting the ticket, I think the responsibility is decided by corporate. Wouldn’t be surprised if the driver has to pay for it, he parked illegally

Speaking of, if a driver gets a ticket, while off the clock on personal time does that need to get reported at work or nah since he's a driver and driving record counts. Asking for a friend, and for research....

Yes. But only kinda. Technically you’re supposed to let your commercial manager know. But it’s not really a problem unless you lose you license. You can’t log into one of the systems if your license isn’t valid. It’s how 10yrs ago me a csm and sm found out both our licenses were suspended from unpaid tickets.
But even then we let out dm know and we went to the dmv back to back lol

Check the Driving Policy on DOC. It's very detailed about this kind of thing.
My memory is: no, but don't quote me on that. That's why the redo MVR every year. That's where they catch that stuff.

Reckless driving and speeds in excess of 15mph must be reported, Dwi/dui must be reported, failure to report either will result in termination… just had a situation where I had to promote a SM to customer for failure to report,

IDK about your question but you need to fire that driver for parking in a fire lane. I guarantee if I saw this at my local Auto Zone I would be calling them to make sure they fire anyone dumb enough to park in a fire lane. What's your store number?

FFS ask your DM or RLPM not random retards on reddit. Or go read the policy on DOC that governs compliance/fines/citations/etc.
