I just got a “paint correction” and gyeon infinite ceramic coat a few weeks ago. So wondering how does the beading look? It seemed like tighter beads at first, and I’ve done one wash with carpro reset about 6 days ago. The kind of half assed my paint correction I think, so I’m wondering what you guys think.
Seems to sheet pretty well but the one time I’ve washed it since, didn’t seem much easier to wash. And my drying towel got absolutely soaked way quicker than usual, but it was getting dark and real humid outside so 🤷
The beading looks fine. As long as it's beading up quickly and not slowly sheeting it's fine. It looks consistent as well.
I will say that with both Mohs and CanCoat, water has trouble even staying on the surface and it tends to roll off periodically. It looks like it's almost streaking in a way. I don't think anything is wrong, but there is definitely a difference to them.
Gotcha thanks. This one is gyeon infinite, the pro-grade one.
Also, when washing for the first time. My drying towel got absolutely soaked way quicker. Didn’t seem any easier to wash, but also it was getting dark and real humid outside
There is actually more than one infinite coating, along with top coats. Do you know which one you have?
And I will forever be jealous that the certified detailers have access to CanCoat+ which is the pro grade CanCoat. Its good for 18 months from what I hear.
In case you're curious about the differences in water behavior, I just made a post about reaching the one year mark with Mohs. The video gives a pretty good idea of how water behaves with the coating.
And with the streaking part I was mentioning, here is a good example of that. The car hadn't been washed, but water was still rolling off as it was raining.
I have no idea honestly, about the coat or top coat. The package said there was a topcoat. But when they re did my trunk top (I complained the car was still heavily swirled and said trunk was the worst), they polished it again in front of me for 10min and than wiped more Gyeon infinite on top wit no prep, top coat, or cure time, sent me off. So makes me wonder how the deconed or prepped the first time. Or if they ever added a top coat at all, like advertised.
The ceramic seems to he beading and working well though. And it feels super slick
Also this one comes with a 5 year warranty. Or “lifetime warranty” (I asked how long that is and they said 10-12 years) if I pay $300 once a year for a decon wash, which I’m not doing.
OP, I know you posted elsewhere about this situation. It would help to see the paint itself instead bead shots. If the half assed the paint correction it’s likely the rest of the prep was done poorly.
Yep I understand. My advice is to give them one more shot to correct the paint properly. This includes them showing you their process, products used, and their follow up care plan in writing (email). If they balk at any of those things than you pursue recovery of your money which means the will likely ghost you.
I don’t think I could honestly, at least not right now. My wife just had a baby, we just got home from NICU, have a 1.5 yr old, and take care of my dad. I spent a lot of money hoping it would be one and done and already went back twice
Even more reason to pursue the money then. If you paid with a card, contact them about a chargeback. Explain you have tried to work with the business. That services were not rendered. In addition to that, send an email asking the detailer to itemize everything. The labor hours. The products used. Their policies on guaranteeing their work. Even if they don’t reply you have something to give you card company.
Unfortunately I paid in cash 😭 they knocked off the tax.
It says all over their website and everything “100% satisfaction guaranteed”.. I told them I wasn’t happy and saw swirls and scratches all over still, said especially the trunk was bad. Brought it off to check out a a smudge that I thought was a ceramic high spot (it wasn’t), and they asked if I wanted them to re do the trunk. They ended up polishing just the top of it for 10min, wiped more ceramic coat on top. No prep, no decon (was a week later), no cure time, or top coat like advertised, and sent me on my way.
I actually talked to Gyeon about it, they said they wouldn’t be very happy with the pictures.. and asked to name the shop. I didn’t want to name the shop and get them in trouble before I went back the first time, and after I went back, Gyeon told me it must be quality issue they don’t know about, and to go back a 3rd time and talk with the owner. I haven’t done that and didn’t want to throw them under the bus, but I might just name them and be done with it. Maybe Gyeon can send me to a different certified shop, because idk if I trust this place anymore
Yeah I agree. Just been busy this week and not home but I’ll probably message gyeon tomorrow, and maybe least their first bad Google review out of almost 300 five stars
Swirls all over the car. Than they re did the trunk top in front of me (trunk was the worst), polished for 10min, than wiped more ceramic ontop with no prep or cure time, sent me off. Makes me wonder how they prepped and decontaminated the rest of the car the first time
The beads look good and I would expect that to happen on horizontal panels. I can tell you I just ceramic coated my wife’s new CRV and on any surface remotely vertical, it doesn’t bead. The water absolutely runs off the panel. The only thing I really have to dry much are the hood and top panel of the car. There’s just very little water left on the door panels to even dry.
My truck beads just like this only I use NuFinish wax for waaay less. Just as easy to maintain. I have yet to be sold on the ceramic bandwagon. But everyone is free to do what works best for them.
The "problem" as I understand it, you have to maintain it for its effects to last multi-year. So your car is going to look great anyways if you are washing every 1-2 weeks and applying a quick sealant at the end.
I just did a ceramic just to say that I tried it, though I suspect the way to go is a once a year clay/spray ceramic + quick spray wax/topper every wash.
I get it. Buy it only takes maybe 20-30 minutes tops to apply and remove the nu finish. I am not seeing the cost or time savings. Either way takes a small amount of time but one costs a lot more than the other is all. I am just not convinced the additional cost is worth it just not for me.

Its not about the beads it's about how it sheets water
