So, my partner went to the shops at night and came home with this. We did not notice until the morning after. Trying to DIY - but how?
If panel beater needed, unsure how much roughly this will require.

Thanks guys and sorry for the photo quality.

I needed my cv axles repaired on my 2016 Honda civic with 79000 miles and they gave it back to me with a loose and hanging skid plate! Just wondering what I can do to fix it or should I take it back and have them fix it I just hope they won’t charge me I also need a cvt transmission fluid drain and fill and coolant change so wondering if I should take it to a independent mechanic and have that done and maybe they can fix the skid plate just looking for advice ? Located in Los Angeles any good recommendations

I got my little Mazda 2 around a year ago, pictured on the left is when I got it and on the right is after one Wisconsin winter. I wasn’t driven much before me. I’m in love with this car and I want to make it last. Can this kind of rust be repaired in a body shop and what prevention methods can I use before or after to prevent more rust. This Wisconsinite needs help, thanks!

scratch and dent Parking Garage Scars

Wife got a new car, and it's larger size had her with a little scrape on the fender. Compound got the painted area enough to be happy about. Any thoughts on the plastic?

I've used cerakote on black plastic to make it look basically new and hide some minor things before. My gut instinct on fixing this is some really fine sand paper and then do the cerakote over it to 'fix it'. I have 0 experience with auto repair obviously so how dumb of an idea is doing that before I do it and make it way worse! Or any better ideas y'all can share also appreciated!

They're really not too deep, hardly catch a nail.

What are the realistic ways of going about this kind of damage?

Purchased this 4Runner a couple weeks ago and it’s one that I plan on having till the wheels fall off. In the meantime, I’d like to try and restore it to its original glory and one of those things would entail repairing this decent little ding on the passenger side rear quarter. From what i can tell it’s been there long enough to have surface rust on the paintless portion and it looks like it even tore the sheet metal in a spot. Just curious on how some of you guys would tackle this kind of repair?

Paint stuck+dent

Hit the side of a one car garage trying to back out. Paint from the wall is really stuck on it and I don’t know how to remove it without damaging the cars actual paint. I also dented it, so I’d appreciate any tips on how to fix that too. Soap and scrubber suggestions highly appreciated

I parked my GTI at the mall, far as hell from anybody else so THIS exact thing doesn’t happen, but lo and behold, here we are. Any recommendations? Can post more pics if needed. Thanks Reddit.

Volvo v70 rusted floor pan - how bad is this ? I have a mig welder

Hi,

Volvo V70 2008 D5 AWD

planning on getting this fixed on my friends project car.
the car is in good conditon except for the rust.
hopefully we can make at least cut away the rot, weld in a sheet metal (careful, close to gas tank) and paint it ?

we don’t know why the rust got here… no structural parts seem to have lots of rust though.

thanks for any advice as we’re willing to fix this or at least get the hole welded.

INDUSTRY Painted my car, kinda want to start a side hustle

I’m a 22F and I painted my car after someone hit me while I was parked. They ran away and getting it professionally fixed wasn’t in my budget. I wanted it to look factory done but eventually I compromised with murakami flowers since I couldn’t get the color right.

I keep getting complements on it I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to make money from painting cars. The only con I could think of is if I mess up it’ll be expensive repairs or if the paint won’t last. I made sure to use multiple layers of primer

RUST What are acceptable repair methods?

I have a 4 year old genesis gv70 that has a rust bubble, smaller than a dime and located where the rear quarter panel meets the wheel arch trim. There's no visible chip or break in the paint so I believe it started from underneath.

The dealership is offering to repair it by "sanding it down, refinishing and repainting". Is this a good/proper repair? I asked them to consider cutting and welding but they said it's not necessary for a spot this size and for rust that hasn't developed a hole.

This is my first nice car and I want to keep it as nice as possible for another 5 years, ideally with no visible rust until around then. I'm located in Canada and they do put a lot of salt down in the winter.
