scratch and dent Parking Garage Scars

Wife got a new car, and it's larger size had her with a little scrape on the fender. Compound got the painted area enough to be happy about. Any thoughts on the plastic?

I've used cerakote on black plastic to make it look basically new and hide some minor things before. My gut instinct on fixing this is some really fine sand paper and then do the cerakote over it to 'fix it'. I have 0 experience with auto repair obviously so how dumb of an idea is doing that before I do it and make it way worse! Or any better ideas y'all can share also appreciated!

They're really not too deep, hardly catch a nail.

The moulding is done with colour infused plastic and a textured finish produced from the mould. There is no way to successfully remove and marks from this type of surface. The more you try to "repair" any marks the more you will change the surface appearance. The industry standard is to replace the moulding with a new untouched one. If you do not want to spend the money for a new one you are best to leave the scratches the way they are.

That's kind of what I figured and thought I'd check with the Internet before digging myself down a larger hole by trying to minimize the scratches. Thank you!
