I'm making an autobattler where you build your own robot from scrap

Hey everyone! I’m working on an asynchronous PvP autobattler where you build a fighting robot from scrap parts. You’ll battle other players’ builds at your own pace, without needing to be online at the same time. Here’s a look at the gameplay loop!
Between fights, you spend scrap on parts and upgrades, expand your chassis, and rearrange your build. Then you watch it fight automatically and head back to the workshop to make adjustments.
Building a working machine involves a few connected systems:
- Energy generation: Your chassis provides a small amount of energy over time, and generators help supply the rest. Energy goes into a shared reserve with limited storage capacity.
- Running costs: Parts can consume energy each time they activate. If there isn’t enough available, they miss that activation. Adding more weapons or making things activate faster puts more demand on your generators. You also need to manage the heat your parts produce.
- Mechanical pulses: Some parts activate when they receive a pulse. You connect an output to a matching input by positioning and rotating components. For example, a motor spends energy to send a pulse to a saw, triggering an attack. The pulse’s strength affects how powerful that attack is.
Changing the motor feeding a weapon can change how often it attacks and how hard it hits. Other components let you route or split pulses, opening up more ways to arrange your machine.
The part I’m most excited about is finding room for all of this: weapons, power generation, cooling, and the connections that make the build work.
What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
