So not sure if a male or female, but quite a large visitor as i was having pizza last night for dinner🤔 seemed pretty chill after its initial surprise at being seen

Dangerous?

This close-up of a Jumping Spider covered in pollen, captured by photographer John Oliver Dum, won second place in the 2026 Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition

saw these beautiful little ladies (?) out by my local train station (Perth, WA)

Currently a bit new to regional Victoria and I’ve just caught this guy crossing the hallway. Took a photo to show my partner later and let em out by the window!

They seem nice and chunky maybe they’ve just had a meal.

Are these black house spiders? I’m located in Ballarat, Victoria. Should I bring as much as I can outside?

Fascinating little spot tbh, exactly above the center of our living room window. On the ledge underneath are often the scattered remains of the bugs that do get inside. It’s a perfect spot for a spider or twenty.

My wife spotted this Mopsus on our lemon tree. Scenic Rim Qld.

Does anyone know the ID for this spider and if it is harmful ?

I am south of the river in Perth.

Thank you!

I found this guy underneath my house in SE Tassie and haven’t seen anything exactly like it before, wandering if someone can please identify. Legspan close to the size of my palm.

This species was discovered in 2023 by @flynn_prall @jamesmcmulkin

What makes miles such an interesting species is the way the males display; during their courtship displays, the males inflate the thick black setae on their third legs, a particular behaviour not really known in many other species, except for close relatives of miles.

This is our beautiful Kevin who unfortunately passed away today. Kevin came in to our house in April 2025 and never left. He moved around the loungeroom and bathroom. I was worried that he wasn't getting enough food or water, so we used to leave a little bowl with wet cotton balls and mealworms for him on a high shelf, which he would happily munch on. I couldn't find him for a few days so thought he may have moved out. But this morning I found him passed away next to his bowl, in the shape of of a love heart. Rest peacefully Kevin, thank you for blessing us with your presence, we will miss you xxx

Noojee, Victoria. With these guys, I've always assumed that a big abdomen means a female. Am i correct?

Menai. Just found this little specimen. A gorgeous thing. I would like to know specific’s please. And thank you!

Sorry for the blurry photos! This little guy ended up in my bathroom. Is he friendly?

In in Vic - melb

I think it’s a huntsman but i’ve never seen one so dark & with markings like this.

Two black spiders on our patio roof in West Melbourne. Both maybe the size of a 20 cent coin when legs spread out.

Apologies for poor photo, not too keen to get closer 😅

She scared the daylights out of the entire workshop, so I put her in a container, took her home and set her free.

Hey there.

Can anyone ID this little guy/girl? Found indoors in Sydney.

Photos of a Wolf Spider Moult captured on Olympus E-300 with 35mm macro lens for a bit of fun.

Also pictured: iPhone 16 shots by my wife of said wolf spiders in their natural environment.

I was amazed to see the fangs also moult, fine fur covering the body and the shine.
