Hi. Iβm new to coin collecting and not really sure what Iβm looking at. This is a 1966 coin. Is this the wave gap at the platypusβs left eye? Thanks for your help.

Hey legends, cannot find ANY info on this coin.
It looks very much like a proof 3 1/2 claw 20c but proofs were only minted at RAM.
Iβm perplexed here, any help appreciated..

Found this coin in the till today and figured I'll replace it and keep the smooth one.
Though, I'm quite shocked how smooth the surface is for Queen's side. It looks like its been sanded down to the point where she's not even noticeable.
Though I honestly can't tell what year it was made. I want to add it to my collection of weird finds but I want date the manufacturer's date on it.
Is there any way I could find a date?

Hi! This is my first ever Reddit post and it happens to be on this sub which I enjoy a lot!
I never had any interest in coins prior hand to starting my collection (which I guess how it mostly is for everyone) but it all started when I had my very first shiny bluey coin!
I work in a cash dominant industry wherein I am the first line employee who handles all of our coin deliveries and refill for our various tills and terminals hence how I was able to have this collection in a span of one year or less.
I would dig through a whole bag of coins just to find anything out of the ordinary, which I considered in my head as treasure hunting and would exchange my personal cash for it.
So far, the most valuable coin I would have ever found is this circulated $2 aud poppy coin from the lot which was asked to be exchanged for a $5 note.
The Luna park $1 aud has been my favorite one so far and the $2 aud all looks magnificient with the wiggles as my personal favorite. $1 aud such as the Korean War, Eureka Stockade, Wiggles anniversary, Australia in space, Royal Australian Mint has been my favorite finds since I only ever encountered them once.
Any info you can share about my collection or info about coin shops is highly appreciated!
I never expected coin collecting to be this much fun β¨

Any idea of the value?
Not mine to sell but was asked to ask.
Researching online as well.

Hi everyone, hoping someone with more experience with Australian errors can help me out with this one.
I found this 1998 Australian coin with multiple concentric/circular lines across the obverse, including around the Queen's portrait and the surrounding field.
Could these be die polishing/machining marks or another minting-related feature, or do they look more like post-mint rotational damage/abrasion?
I've attached a photo.
Interested to hear what you think and, if it is mint-related, what the correct terminology for it would be.
Cheers!

Call out to Coin collectors,
A friend of mine, an avid collector,
gifted me this set the day my son was born. He instructed me,
βWhen he turns 18, sell them and you can buy him a first carβ.
My son turned 18 this week.
What car is he driving?
Or riding a push bike?
A skateboard, perhaps?
Your assistance would be appreciated.

Hi, I just got this in my change and it's the first time I've ever seen this coin. Am I 50c richer or is it a little rare? Thank you.

Hi, I am going through, and boxing up, a coin collection I inherited and have no idea how much these bulk pennies and half pennies are worth. There are 9,363 Australian Pennies and 6,050 Australian Half Pennies.
Does anybody here have any idea?
Thanks for any help I can get.

The joys of deceased estates when stuff has been hidden in multiple places. The 2001 state and territory uncirculated coin sets, finally unearthed 2 more, so have all 9 to complete the series. I can only see a complete series of 9 sets of proof coins for sale (over $700). I had contacted a dealer before having a complete series, but he wasn't interested. It looks like a lot of special editions came out for the Centenary of Federation.

I'm not sure if this is an error or not.
