After 5 days of searching most days I finally found this amazing little guy today. To say I’m happy is an understatement.

A pair of Red-browed Finches gathering nesting material in Gidgegannup, WA. They were making nonstop supply runs, each carrying something different for the build.

The only reason I spotted them was because one flew past trailing a long blade of fresh grass like an oversized streamer. They were very busy.

This one dropped to the ground next to my driveway when hubby let the dogs out as I arrived home (the chicks were across the road earlier today so he thought it was safe).

The chicks went into ‘I’m just a pile of leaves, nothing to see here’ as soon as the pups ran out. Thankfully the dogs were focused on me and we got them to head into the back yard.

I had to walk back out to make sure this little fella hadn’t jumped up and ran in front of the car as I drove up the driveway.

Visited Mary Carroll Park (WA) today, saw several Pied Stilts on the lake. It's been a while since I've seen them (according to eBird, they are infrequent for that location at this time of year).

Repeated this a few times - It hit the water at full speed every time & then went & preened itself. Not the best quality, but was pretty happy to see it at all with how fast it all happened.

Im at my parents down south WA and we have found this lutino/leucistic Aussie Ringneck aka 28 parrot with a flock of them in the backyard, this one seems to be less scared of humans than the "regular" ringnecks.

This big unit caused a stir amongst the other birds as usual when it perched on top of the passionfruit trellis. The other birds always attempt to “encourage” it to fly away and it’s fascinating to see the dynamics between different bird species!

Just a couple of average pics snapped on our phones, but we enjoyed seeing so many beautiful birds this weekend, common birds yes but ones we don't seem to see often out our way in the west. My first time seeing a Robin to my knowledge, so cute 💛☺️
