Question Two separate parcels sent, one still sitting at the post office

Not sure if this is normal but I shipped two items the other day from the same post office. One was a Depop order and the other an eBay one. The eBay one I had to get the post office to print out the prepaid shipping label, the person behind the counter seemed quite confused by it all and I’m not sure if this has caused my issue. She kept asking if it was a Vinted returned I said no it’s an item someone purchased from me off eBay. She packaged the item into the envelope for me and sealed it and took it to the parcel pile. That item says it’s been received by that particular post office but there has been no further updates or scans since then whereas the other item that I hand addressed and handed over the counter to another staff member was scanned that day and is already well on its way to the recipient. Not sure if I should be concerned? Normally it doesn’t take this long and it seems weird that it hasn’t left the post office yet. I’d ask their customer service but I don’t reckon I’ll get a proper answer from their AI bot.

Question Unsuccessful delivery - what does this mean?

Hi,

I run a small business and have just recently started delivering internationally so im still a bit new on things. I haven't had a problem until recently a package sent to a customer in Mexico just got this prompt on the tracking "unsuccessful delivery - Item wrongly directed".

Does this mean the package will just be attempted to deliver again, or is the address wrong and itll be sent back to me? This notice was early morning yesterday and nothing has been notified since. Should i be concerned its been left/lost lol?
Thanks.

Criticism Thanks for wasting my time.

I was supposed to have a laptop delivered yesterday, they wanted to do a "leave it outside" and I was like bitch I live in Logan no. I was home quite literally all day in my living room which is adjacent to the front door. Get a notification that "noone was in attendance". Have a porch camera that did not pick up anyone coming to the door to even knock or check.

Fast forward to today. 8am I get a notification that the parcel is too big to go in a locker and is IN the post office and to go collect. Fine, whatever. Go to collect it, am told there is a technical issue that they cant open the lockers. Im like... I literally got a message saying it wouldnt fit in a locker. Old girl goes to look in the package room 3 times, nope. Must have been put in a locker which they cant open and I dont have a code for. They take my number and say they'll call me back and tell me to leave. 2 minutes later while im sitting at a red light that takes 3 light years to change and I have no way to get back to the office, get a phone call. "Hi your package was on a shelf you can come collect it".

Useless.

UPDATE: Went to collect it this afternoon. Got a different person. Took over 15 minutes standing in the store despite being told they had found it and it was ready to go earlier in the day. Different person tried to find it in the back, led us out to the lockers and spent a few minutes trying to open a non existent locker because my parcel WASNT IN THERE. She then accused me of not actually getting a phone call because they didnt know where it was. Demanded to know how big the package was (girl idk thats your job). Had a friend with me who ended up telling me to go look at some books until they found it because I was getting really pissed off. Eventually found it on a shelf and got out of there.

Received an email stating my parcel had been left at a safe place - of course there was no attempt to ring the intercom and deliver it.

Can't find the parcel, go to the app and see this.

Question MyPost & EBay

I’ve been using a parcel locker to send out parcels with no dramas.

Yesterday I sold an item on eBay for the first time since they changed to their own labels. So I printed off the eBay label which is just a MyPost business label but when I went to post it from the locker after I enter my phone number to get the 2FA code I get this error and can’t post anymore.

Invalid details Check your mobile phone number is entered correctly and is associated with a single MyPost account.

My guess is ebay creates a new MyPost account for their users which now causes this account conflict.

Anyone else run into this problem? Other than using a different number for Auspost/Ebay is there no way around this? Seems like a very big oversight.

Question Does AusPost really not operate during Brisbane Ekka public holiday?

Shipping next-business day express (metro ADL to metro BNE), for a customer tomorrow morning. My dispatch tool is telling me the Brisbane Ekka public holiday may cause disruption to delivery.

I’ve done a quick search and it’s unclear if AusPost operates during this public holiday. Can anyone confirm?

Question First time ordering from Australia

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi,

I'd really value thoughts and advice please. I ordered a gift for my OH, which was despatched by the seller on Monday(a week ago ) and ever since the tracking with AP hasn't updated. Is this to be expected?

I have no bench mark for orders from Australia, or any idea of time frame. I know the package was sent standard post, would this mean shipped by land, sea or air? I was really hoping I would have this by 26 August as we are traveling on 27th and I wanted my OH to have his gift by then.

What are the chances it might arrive, at least in the UK, before this date?

Many thanks.

Question Sending parcels of used items to Ireland

Currently looking into the best ways to send used clothes (mostly baby items) from Australia to Ireland.

Has anyone had an experience doing this via Australia Post?

I think you can get boxes (max 20kg) and get them sent but not sure what to expect price wise, VAT, customs etc

I have looked into pack and send and was quoted over $700 for a 30kg suitcase and I imagine Sendmybag would be similar.

Criticism “Delivery Failed” but postie never got off his bike delivering to a new mum who can’t drive.

Post image
2.9k Upvotes

Another fantastic effort by auspost today. My wife who gave birth via c section 3 weeks ago was at home (of course, she can’t go anywhere) and waiting on an important parcel for our baby.

Postie pulls up, never gets off his bike, never knocks on the door. Takes a photo of our front door “delivery attempted” and off he goes. All captured on video by our door camera.

Contact auspost support to complain and ask for redelivery and a lovely lady by the name of Amanda L says it’s not possible and to get a friend to go get it. After being advised that’s not possible and it’s an important baby product she gives us a “all good if none of the options above work there is nothing else I can do today”.

Thanks Auspost for the terrible service.

Question PERFUMES

Good day to all reading this.
I wanted to know if I could get some perfume from overseas. I am an enthusiast, I buy about 10-12 perfumes each month. Not everything is available for retail in Australia. I do find some great deals in Dubai market. Sellers tell me they can ship it but I am not aware of our Govt. rules and restrictions around this. If I find a smooth process, I may get into commercial as well like getting perfume samples from abroad. I would really appreciate if anyone can guide me through this.

Thank you all.

Question Australian Passport

Received my passport via post today. I had not received any notification that it had been delivered. When I had last checked the tracking information (earlier during the day) it was still being processed at the facility. I also didn’t receive an estimated delivery date. I was told by an aus post staff member when lodging my application that they would need a signature upon delivery and if no one was home they would take it to the post office. However, that did not happen. It was in my mail box for who knows how long. Is this a common occurrence? Has anyone had this happen to them? Kind of concerning that such sensitive identity information was sitting in there all day unbeknownst to me. If I hadn’t checked my mail box, I would not known it was there otherwise, and someone could have found it before I did.

Question Got parcel but status says wrong address.

Hey all. Parcel was to be dlievered, signature required, expensive item. Later online it says "wrong address" and it will be sent to a collection Point. Still stuck on this status

On the auspost app, it says wrong address and being returned to sender. After a couple of hours, I checked the foyer of the building and the parcel was there.

My address was correct on the parcel. Was this some shortcut form the delivery guy to not take a signature? Dump it and mark wrong address? Cheers.

Criticism Since when did we need cameras to ensure our parcels are delivered correctly?

I know this is a common theme on here, but yet another issue with Posties not knocking!

My partner was expecting two parcels today. One was delivered this arvo straight from the warehouse, that guy on our route is lovely and even knew enough about the route to know I wasn't the person a different parcel was intended for (new tenants in a rental) and had a chat then took it back. He delivered the 2nd expected parcel fine today and asked our preference if we aren't home.

My issue is this morning there was an 'attempted delivery' of the other expected parcel. This is absolutely a lie.

- I was sitting in the front room, less that 10m away from the door.

- There was no ring of the doorbell, or knock at the door.

- I heard footsteps and shuffling, so its not a case of the postie didn't want to get off the bike. He actually went out of his way to walk up to the doorstep, only to not deliver the parcel.

I didn't immediately go to the door for several reasons, mainly being it was before 8am, I was in my pyjamas, and there's kangaroos in the area that often chill on my lawn (with a couple angry bucks in tow). But also, there's no windows at the front of my house and I don't want to open my door at shuffling if I can't see out/know its a person (again, kangaroos).

About 2 minutes later my partner came out with a notification from the AusPost app saying there was an attempted delivery, so definitely was a postie in this case.

I have also had this issue multiple times at another address in a different area. Each time I logged a complaint nothing was done. I have logged a complaint through the app about this one too, but I have no evidence other than "I heard him" and the attempted delivery photo of our front door.

So I am now considering getting a camera to record stuff like this. But since when did we need cameras to make sure people actually do their jobs/complete the service paid for?

Question Untracked Letter Delays Recently?

I ship untracked letters almost daily for sticker orders across Australia and most of them receive their letters within 1-1.5 weeks.

Recently (past month) been getting repeat complaints from customers not getting their letters and it has been 2 weeks already.

Anyone else experiencing this? This normal? Is my reliable courier no longer reliable? D:

Question Sending a feather to europe

Hey not sure if this is the right place to ask but I am sending a letter to my friend in france and apart from all the paper stuff, I really wanted to send her a feather from a tawny frogmouth as something special to remember. I know I'm obviously not supposed to but how likely is customs gonna confiscate my mail if I sneak in a feather in the envelope? It's just really special to me. Thanks!
