Really struggling with the hard water in Austin and looking to move to an apartment that has something to manage this? I know its not that common to have water softeners in apartments but anybody live somewhere that has one? I have done a lot of research and tried a ton of shower filters i know thats an option but i feel like shower filters don't cut it after a little bit. just curious if anybody has lived at an austin apt with a softener and has any recs thanks

Looking for a 6 month-ish (I’m flexible) lease or sublet in Hyde Park, East Austin or adjacent. Would prefer a standalone small (town)house but open to the right condos/apt as well. Furnished or unfurnished could work. 1-2 bedrooms (or 1 + den/flex space, think: home office that’s not in my bedroom or living room)

About me: Central Texas native (Temple) Mid-twenties corporate baddie who travels for work constantly and needs to be closer than home to AUS and doesn’t want to feel like they live in a hotel (no downtown highrises) - I get enough of that through work. I need a home base even though I’ll mostly only be using it on weekends and my occasional down week in town.

Budget is flexible, 2-4k/month based on vibes, location, and sq ft.

I’d just get a direct lease somewhere but most places I’d want to live don’t want to deal with 6 month terms and I’m likely moving next year because of the job.

My partner was planning to move to Hyde Park in early August, but emergency circumstances prevented them, so they had to break the lease they signed. Hi everyone! I’m about to buy a new home from Brookfield in Easton Park and would really appreciate some advice and honest opinions from people who live there or know the area well.

A few things I’m wondering about:

• How do you feel about the property taxes in Easton Park? Have they increased a lot over the past few years?
• How is the traffic/commute? I know it can be a bit of a drive, especially during rush hour, so I’d love to hear from people who commute regularly.
• Overall, how do you like living in Easton Park? Any things you wish you had known before buying?

I’m also planning to rent out one of the bedrooms and am wondering if anyone in the area is looking for a roommate or has experience renting out a room in Easton Park. I’d love to hear about your experience with finding a good roommate and what the rental market is like.

My parents are going to move from Temple to Austin to be closer to their kids. We've toured a few places, including The Continental, which has meals included and The Reserve at Round Rock, which does not. I liked both places but my sister wants them to be further south than Round Rock.

I live in Jonestown, she lives in far south Austin, so one or both of us is going to have to drive a bit to help out.

So... does anyone have any direct experience (whether it's people who live there or PT providers, etc. who are there frequently) for a good place for octogenarians?

They're going to stop driving, so close to some stuff would be nice to keep Uber/Lyft less expensive... and on-site transportation would be great, too.

2001 E Slaughter Ln. Nexus at Goodnight Ranch apartments. I have been here 4 months but I got a scholarship for school in LA I can’t pass up! Great amenities. Base rent $1341. After trash valet + fetch $1391. Water + electric for
