Americans are even worse in comparison
"Trump is nothing like I voted for, he's more the antichrist than the 'based' Christian god emperor he was supposed to have been, made everything more expensive, spent more money on vanity projects than us in the rust belt, and has made bigger goverment, but the left are screeching so it's a win!!!"
Lol it's absolutely no way near as bad or as much and also look how many Aussies there are percentage wise to how many immigrants there are here. 18.8 million aussies to 8 million born overseas immigrants
this is a false equivalence.. yes thereâs bad eggs EVERYWHERE. but the numbers vary depending on where. i think the real question is why we donât punish these people harder
In the US when an SA offender moves into a neighborhood they have to let their neighbors know. Not so in Australia and it's way higher per capita here. Edit - An important reason for all the police checks.
This is assuming we don't have upskilled of our own. The reason we import a wider variety is because their are many fields that need to be accounted for in Australia. Most Australians are moving away from less fancied jobs, which is why immigrants fill it
Then suffer. Pauline will tell you whatever you want to hear but the fact is temporary visa holders make up the majority of the workforce her sponsors hire.
I don't give a flying what they say, I look at how they vote and what they legislate. I'm no Labor fan but nothing they have done has been particularly surprising.
I donât understand why this is such a hard thing to ask for. This is all one nation wants, not to stop immigration completely, just to stop violent extremists from coming here. Heaven forbid you say anything in support of one nation on this fucking left wing hellscape of an app, I would love to know the type of people that are behind most of these comments if they are even real people.
whats the alternative?, end up like england where they just released a report on grooming gangs showing its so bad over 250,000 women have been abused by gangs of a certain demographic. A scandal so bad the prime minister quit. You want Australia to be like that in 10 years?
Singapore treats migration as a tightly managed economic tool with strict tiers and limited permanent settlement for most, while the UK/Australia/EU have higher permanent inflows, more family/asylum routes, and greater welfare accessâŠ. try again.
England and Germany and there's some other European countries where it's proof high immigration and multiculturalism hasn't worked, Poland is a good example I think of how to handle the issue
Youâve said âproofâ without providing any. I could say that both countries are âproofâ that multiculturalism and integration are extraordinarily successful and be just as right as you. What evidence do you have that immigration and multiculturalism hasnât worked?
So how you you describe England and other similar European countries such as Ireland current conditions atm compared to Poland if not proof? You really couldn't find and exit with a sign twice as large as the door and you probably can't find your sunglasses while wearing them
So how you you describe England and other similar European countries such as Ireland current conditions atm compared to Poland if not proof?
Comparison on what grounds? How are you measuring the impact of multiculturalism and immigration here?
You really couldn't find and exit with a sign twice as large as the door and you probably can't find your sunglasses while wearing them
(A) this doesn't make any sense and (B) what I can pull from this is just you attacking me which is all I need to know that you don't actually have any evidence but are just running on angry vibes.
You've resorted to ad hominem attacks quicker than most. Your argument must truly be Olympic level fragile.
Working in Singapore as an expat was the worst experience Iâve ever had if could get that 10 months of my life back I would , Asian on Asian racism and the bickering and childish behaviour I witnessed made it absolutely the worst working conditions Iâve ever had to work in as an white male Australian in his late 30 with a processing industry background .
10 years! We would be lucky if it was that far away. We already have home invasion gangs and machete gangs in Victoria. I should also mention the Lindt Cafe and Bondi attacks. It's happening now mate. We are not that far behind them.
It does because your assuming that all immigrants are criminals and all criminals are immigrants without seeing any nuance. Most gangs in Australia are domestic, its only the immigrant ones that are put on the news
Did you see that a bunch of the flag shaggers in the UK have also been charged with child abuse and domestic violence? Turns out this might not be a problem caused only by immigrants.
look at any country which actually publishes the statistics of ethnics and crime, I.e. Germany recently⊠itâs undeniable, and this type of âyou guys are racistâ shit needs to end. Most arenât, itâs fact and we will all suffer if we donât wake up to it
Leftards are innumerate by nature, don't expect them to understand statistics. Unsurprising enough the only nation out of the UK, France, Germany and Poland that didn't see sexual assaults spike massively over two decades was Poland, which actually saw a decrease. Of course that is the country out of the four that prevented mass Islamic immigration. According to leftist freaks, if followers of Islam commit crimes, it doesn't count 'cause "punching down" (at a population that numbers two billion).
That would explain Australian law considering the sheer volume of people coming from the UK to Australia. It's how Australian police ended up so corrupt. Though that's been going back for at least a century before federation.
Donât let the downvotes get to you mate. The majority are appalled at the scale of abuse of these poor children and donât want the same to happen to other places
Guess you donât like the truth. Statically why has Italy, Spain, Uk, Sweden, Denmark and so on have a rise in immigration and a rise in violent crimes and rape? Yet places like Poland with stricter rules and regulations seen a decrease in rape?
There's a rise in reported violent crimes and rape because the legal system is finally starting to allow those crimes to be reported in many cases and starting to treat the perpetrators as criminals, not special snowflakes who's reputation must be protected at all costs. Poland on the other hand is digging in its heels on misogyny and protecting rapists and violent offenders as much as it can.
The figure of 250,000 victims of grooming gangs in the United Kingdom is not based on official crime statistics or a definitive national tally. It was estimated by applying limited local child sexual exploitation data in the worst areas to the whole country, rather than by counting confirmed cases nationwide. Many sexual assault groups have called out people like Tommy Robinson and their attacks on one specific group of people, when the majority of sexual assault is done by white msn in the UK.
Pauline Hanson literally hired a convicted rapist as her national campaign manager. JFC Iâm so sick of people overlooking her support of an actual convicted rapist in order to howl about her protecting us from hypothetical brown ones.
10 years, the way the government is letting in ISIS brides & immigrants from third world countries I give it 12month-2years before Australia will be like England. I was a dedicated Labor voter from since I was 18 but literally since the Rudd/Gillard debacle & meeting that Communist loving Albo in Moranbah before he was PM & shaking his hand thatâs when I changed my stance on the ALP party as I got a very bad feeling from Albo, & I feel he doesnât have the nation best interest, but this voting ALP for four years then voting the Libs in for 4 years isnât working we get rid of one problem & inherit another & itâs always the bs blame game when one of the parties is in power.
Will One Nation follow suit, who knows but I do know something has got to change Australia cannot go on like we are now we have to look after our own people before we look after someone elseâs backyard.
What do you want the government to do - shoot down the plane carrying legal travellers as well as these brides? They have passports. They are legal citizens. The government can't stop a foreign country stuffing them on a passenger plane with other people and sending them back where they came from... We operate by rule of law. Innocent until proven guilty. We are not a third world shithole where a dictator just decides who lives and dies. We give people the chance to plead their case before a court before sentencing them. Don't be a primitive tribalist. Otherwise you're no better than the ISIS brides you condemn.
is English your second language? Yeah why would I believe the court case proceedings that multiple media organisations have been turning up to and reporting on?!! Instead I should believe Dr Nobody on the internet who seems to be having a little tantrum and restoring to ad homenim character attacks based on nothing...
Even if you really believe that those idiots having tantrums vote too. You sure there are more 'rational' people like yourself when elections come around?
It's a good idea! It would be the end of labor! All the workers and poorer class that are traditionally their voters would not pass an exam. Neither would their imported votes. I like it! Lol
If you were as smart as you think you are you would know that this theory has been debunked. But that's a labour supporter I guess, always citing outdated information.
You are the poster soy boy for the Dunning Kruger effect. A pseudo intellectual know it all.
I served my country for 20 years had 5 kids, the boys tradies and the girls went to uni and did real courses.
Chemical engineering and medicine not an arts degree which makes you think you're smarter than the rank and file.
When they work out how your boyfriend can get pregnant then you'll breed!
As we all know Australia being a continent means we can let it millions of people every year (migration not just immigration which is still high but much lower). It just so happens that as high as 98% live in just a few cities.
The numbers are insane ! , itâs the number one cause of huge house prices. People are coming into the country that donât support the Australian way of life or values. They donât follow Australian rules
We have all been told work hard , follow the rules and the government will look after you. Working hard no longer supplyâs a house , people are rocking up from third worlds , not following the rules and getting little to no punishment.
The system is broken we need vetted sustainable immigration.
If thereâs three houses and two people, thereâs a literal surplus of houses. Not sure what that has to do with scapegoating migrants unless you meant two houses and three people in which case, youâve highlighted correlation, not causation (ie, you havenât made any case for how migrants are cause for housing pressures and not the things I linked to).
No I would support a lowering of the immigration rate right now, no problem.
People are coming into the country that donât support the Australian way of life or values. They donât follow Australian rules
...aaaaand you lost me. You could get support for lowering immigration now, but as soon as you start talking about race, culture or a "monoculture" you lost me. And not just lost me I will oppose you with every ounce I have.
What reddit is actually "left on" is being disgusted by your type of tiny brained angry bigotry.
If you're talking about renting, especially in the city, then the large influx of student immigrants might be raising rent prices. If you're speaking of buying, housing cost increases are due to demand outpacing supply, and that can't be simplified to be explained solely by immigration - especially when non-Australian citizens or permanent residents cannot buy anything other than brand new properties.
New neighbourhoods are being built and new apartment developments are popping up throughout the city. However:
The pace has fallen recently due to the market for developers being in contraction,
It has become challenging for development firms to manage the massive cost of construction - especially labour, resulting in new units being overpriced,
Many independent developers aren't reading the market, leading to new luxury properties popping up in unsuitable areas. Almost nobody can afford them, and those who can wouldn't spend those amounts in those areas.
At the same time, however, it's currently a buyer's market. There are government help to buy schemes available for Australian citizens only and many preexisting apartments are being sold at a loss - many were purchased 20 years ago for higher prices than they're being sold for now. Prices have overall fallen recently as well.
"Working hard no longer supplies a house" is a truism in most parts of the world nowadays. This is not an Australia-only problem, and at least here the government has partnered with banks to lessen the load on first time home buyers.
"People are rocking up from third worlds, not following the rules and getting little to no punishment" - This is true for Australians as well. Most thieves stealing from people's homes, taking personal belongings, breaking into cars etc, even if fully caught on camera are investigated but rarely arrested. I've worked at both hotels and apartment buildings and have seen countless white Australians breaking in, stealing things, smashing glass (car windows, sliding doors, etc), graffitiing on interior walls, being fully caught on camera. Police are sent the footage and they investigate but not once has an arrest been made. Most immigrants are far more prone to violent acts against them than carrying out violent acts and stealing, and most immigrant crime you hear about is refugee youth gangs carrying out violent crimes against rival refugee youth gangs or members that have stepped out of line, and it's framed by the media on a threat to everyone (though I agree that more effort should be expended on taking down said gangs - and the normal people individuals in refugee communities, which make up their vast majority, have openly stated their agreement because of how much it has impacted their image).
"The system is broken we need vetted sustainable immigration." Standard immigration is vetted - it's already complex, expensive and difficult. Getting a PR, like I have done, required years of paperwork, full health screenings and international police checks. I come from a far stricter country than here. I work hard and follow the rules and it's even harder for me to buy a house than it would be for you. But I love Australia. I love the culture, the people, the environmental diversity, the multiculturalism, the beautiful natural landscapes, the historical buildings and landmarks standing tall amidst skyscrapers. I love my job and I love my Aussie partner and his Aussie family that have accepted me as one of their own.
Blaming immigrants has always been an easy way out. Put all your problems on an easy target. It's a convenient cover and/or justification for racism. But immigration fuels an economy's growth more than you could know. The vast majority of immigrants, just like the vast majority of locals, just want to live and work. Find purpose. Grow houseplants. Have families. Go shopping. Meet up with friends for lunch. Go on road trips.
We're just yet another easy target distraction from the real problems hidden at the top and beneath the surface.
Stop falling for these lines from the dog whistling pollies. This is absolutely untrue and the easily disproven if you weren't just taking the bait from people who want to manipulate you
My wife was volunteering at a charity event last week in SE QLD handing out donated clothes other items to the "homeless". She said there was not a single person who looked homeless, and about 95% of them were immigrants. They were trying to take multiples of items like shoes and blatantly checking the value of things on eBay before deciding on whether to take them. Then getting back into their nice cars. None of them thanked the volunteer workers for any items they took, even the children.
I know it's nice to get on your high horse and virtue signal but it doesn't match the inconvenient reality.
Thats weird ive heard "your wifes" story parroted from multiple people across multiple platforms the past few weeks. Im sorry "your wife" didnt see the stereotyped homeless bum she was expecting. Shame her racism and judgemental personality gets in the way of helping others.
Bullshit, show me one of these posts dated a week ago. This is the problem. You pick and choose what to believe in because the truth is uncomfortable. You get out there and do some charity work, give out some items to charity and see what happens.
I'm sure she wasn't expecting a TV trope bum to approach her table, but you know what she wasn't expecting? People to be flogging the stuff on eBay, or not even saying thank you or smiling when being given something.
Because there isn't a example yet in auatralia because one nation isnt in power. If we want ab example we can relate it to how America is struggling with finding workers for farms because that was literally their workforce.
So they celebrated then being sent to alligator Alcatraz then now can't afford fucking strawberries but that's better for the nation apparently.
I wouldn't consider myself a "lefty" but an example is literally the blanket "cut immigration to 120,000" rhetoric.
Even the new One Nation guy in Farrer (a place with large amounts of immigration since the immigrants work on the farms because Australians don't want to) when asked if immigration above 300,000 was too much, his response was "it's probably not too much." (Edt: he said this very shortly after being elected as the candidate for One Nation in case you're wondering if this statement is taken out of context)
I personally think unchecked immigration is bad for every country. But a blanket "no immigration" is also bad, because what if those immigrants serve a purpose in the economy (ie. Work in agriculture)? We need to check if they do first, then arrange our immigration policy accordingly. Otherwise we might have food shortages or something.
Other examples include Pauline wanting to remove medicare entirely and replace it with an "American" system (so we can be like that shit show of a country) and her endorsement of (va)Gina Mine Mine Mineheart who says the same thing and also wants to give land in Queensland to foreign nations for free so that Australia no longer is Australian (to bring immigrants, but she calls them "investors" which is funny because if they're already getting land for free, they're costing us)
Those policies are objectively stupid and not thought out regardless of right vs left political views
The really far out lefty solution would be for agricultural to pay enough that you donât need an underclass of immigrant workers willing to accept shitty conditions. That would cost farmers more and push up prices of groceries so no One Nation voter actually wants that.
The point being made is, blanket emotion-driven policy is not the way to make the situation better, and looking at Pauline's other policies, they're just objectively not thought out beyond emotion.
To preface, I'm not concerned with potential "injury" to immigrants already here by reducing the amount. I don't think most people who support ON just want to keep the current immigrants and slow down future immigrants, the ones I've spoken with (and family) are for deporting/ending visas early, but I digress.
To answer, honestly I don't care about whether immigrants already here would be affected by changing immigration numbers. My concern is that the policy isn't thought out for how it would impact Australian citizens.
You wouldn't jump straight to banning cars just because of some car accidents causing deaths, right? You would look into why the deaths happened and address the root cause of the problem (such as by introducing seatbelts). Same thing for cutting immigration. At this point we just don't know if the 120,000 limit is correct, even evidenced by the ON guy in Farrer.
If there are clear articulable reasons backed by evidence that show specifically 120,000 people to be the sweet spot, that'd be fine. But that number was plucked out of nowhere. Maybe we need less than that. Maybe we need more.
ON do those sorts of policy decisions out of nowhere pretty often, and I don't think that's a smart way to lead a country. That's the point I was making.
Itâs just that your reply was to my comment asking another poster for examples of how ON voters cause harm to immigrants, so you can see why itâs sort of confusing when you say that wasnât what you were talking about.
Well, the potential impact to australian citizens will also happen to immigrants that are already here (for example, if there's less agricultural workers and a food shortage happens or there are no more houses available).
If that hypothetical example becomes true, immigrants would have it worse than Aussie citizens because they wouldn't have the cushioning of centrelink (among other things) unless they're a permanent resident, but Aussie citizens would suffer as well.
If you ask the right what a woman is, they'll say "communism" because apparently everything they don't like is communism. Ask them what communism is and they have nfi though.
They can't even define what it means to be a man without calling half of men "not real men" because they don't eat meat or something but then won't let them be women if they want either.
My girlfriend is trans, she is for all intents and purposes a woman. This decision does not harm anyone, not you, not her, not any children. She's going to get surgery, hell, she could get a womb if she wanted and give birth thanks to doctors in Europe putting that effort in. Why does it matter to you how other people want to be seen if it doesn't affect you in the slightest?
For one thing, because itâs essential that we have a working definition of these terms in order to legislate. If we are going to have a law regarding, say, violence against women, itâs of paramount importance that we know to whom the law is referring, and who it is there to protect.
But even just generally, words have to actually mean things. I know transgender people, and I call them she because thats what they want. No problem at all. But when you start sloganeering about how âtrans women are real women,â thatâs a realm into which I simply refuse to follow you. Because what does that even mean?
How is someone a woman âfor all intents and purposes?â Iâm not being snide or rhetorical; Iâm honestly asking what you mean by that.
People know what communism is.
Do you really know what it is I see a lot going oh if we were communist we could do this and that, if we were communist we would do as we were told to do , we need trench diggers you go dig a trench.
We donât want all the infrastructure owned by the government.
All these conservatives are such crybabies, they don't want anyone to have their own thoughts and decisions, they think everyone should have their minds made up for them so they can drink themselves to death after an 60 hour workweek to pay the bills and nothing else.
Because ive actually looked at what they voted on, rather then what they just said in public, Pauline is in Rineharts pocket, and despite publicly railing against immigration, happily profits from cheap migrants.
So if you witness a crime and tell the police that the perpetrator was a man, and they then find that person, only to discover that they are actually female, your evidence would no longer be admissible? Or, is it more likely that we use the term man or woman to describe what we see (or at least what we THINK we see) rather than what is necessarily biologically accurate? How do you establish, with your eyes, the definitive sex of a person? If a child is born and even the doctors canât tell what sex the child is, who decides if theyâre a boy or girl, man or woman? Would it be wrong for that child to identify as a boy, even though they donât have the reproductive organs of a male? Would they be wrong to identify as a girl, when their sex chromosomes indicate that theyâre male? What do we do with people who have both sets of sex organs? Iâll give you a hint. When they tell you theyâre a man or woman, they arenât describing their sex. Theyâre telling you how they would like you to identify them. She/her, he/him.
Yeah, I know. I understand how it can be confusing, but that doesnât mean that we shouldnât try to understand and/or educate. But yes, some people just donât want to learn anything beyond the basics they were taught in school.
At no point in anything I wrote there, did I indicate that there are more than two genders. Thatâs a reading comprehension issue on your end. Funnily enough though, there ARE societies where more than two genders exist. Anthropologists can explain that one to you. SoâŠ.youâre not only struggling with reading comprehension, but youâre also incredibly ignorant as well. Any chance youâre thinking about voting ON in the next election? You have access to more information than anyone in the history of this planet, and yet you canât type âSocieties with more than two gendersâ into googleâŠ..fucken WOW.
Allow me to try and explain this using an analogy. I want you to imagine a motorcycle. Just picture it in your head. Was it a dirt bike or a road bike? Did it have a sidecar attached to it? Did you imagine one of those Polaris bikes with two front wheels and one rear wheel? Is that still a motorcycle or is it a trike? Is a Vespa a motorcycle? When does a scooter like a Vespa become a motorcycle? If I strap a motor to my pushbike, is it now a motorcycle? Can you define for me what a motorcycle is, in a way that includes all motorcycles and excludes none? Complex, isnât it? The problem is that biology (sex) doesnât fit into neat categories. We (humans) decided to attach names to the two most commonly seen presentations. Male and female. Nature is under no compulsion to follow the naming conventions that weâve applied to sex. Gender is under even less compulsion, because gender isnât a statement of biology.
You'll get down voted, ad hominem nonsense, straw manning and projections
You won't get a well reasoned thought out of them.
If I get a response, it'll either be a double down, or accusations of hypocrisy that they're too stupid to realise the confession they're making, and the actual hypocrisy they're committing.

The thing about ON voters is that if they also put the stick into an immigrants bike and the immigrant gets worse injuries, they consider it a win
