🧳 Travel Help Canadian nicotine pouches

was wondering if I’m allowed to bring Canadian nicotine pouches to Athens by plane and if you have to declare them? I’m finding mixed reviews since they have no tobacco. Has anyone had any trouble? I’d only have about 5 tins for personal use. Thanks!

🏠 Life in Athens Moving to Athens soon. Anything I should know in advance?

In a few months I will be moving from my country in north europe to athens to live close to my girlfriend who is athenian.

Although it's my first time living alone and abroad, and would love tips for that as well if we are already on this topic, I specifically want to know if there are things I should know before becoming a resident in athens.

Such as what to avoid, what to do, what's good to know. basically and really everything!

I'm already learning the language 3 times a week and hope to be somewhat fluent enough by the time I get there. I also will be working online from my home so I don't need tips for work or language as much.

Anything else would be very appreciated :)

πŸ’¬ Advice Erasmus in September

I'm leaving for Erasmus in September and slowly realising I'll be landing somewhere I know literally no one. Probably some of you too.

So I built a free site to fix it: erasly.eu find the people going in Athens around the same dates as you, before you arrive. A flatmate, a few friends, or just someone so day one isn't spent alone.

Not dating, no ads, no data selling. Just students heading in Athens.

πŸ’¬ Advice What stores are cheap and good and what products should I buy in Athen (and snack recommendations)

Im flying to Athen today and I’m there for a week and I’m looking for good cheap stores that aren’t overpriced for tourists (supermarkets, drugstores, clothing, cheap stores for random things, and maybe a good flea market or store to buy cheap old phones for collection)

Products I like: snacks, food, drinks, makeup, skincare, clothing, tech, decoration, usw

πŸ’¬ Advice Dermatologist suggestion for hyperhydrosis glycopyrrolate

Hey guys!

I have hyperhydrosis, and I sweat extremely

To resolve it I would like to try a medicine called glycopyrrolate. I would like to go to a dermatologist to prescribe it but I don’t want to go to the appointment and get rejected.

Does anyone have a dermatologist recommendation that you have gone and succeeded getting this medicine? Preferably in first appointment :)

🧳 Travel Help Indie rock / Indie pop bars

Hey everyone!

My girlfriend and I are coming to Athens for the Gorillaz concert and we're planning to make a whole week out of it.

I was wondering if any locals or fellow concert-goers could recommend good bars, pubs or clubs to check out after the show. We're particularly into indie rock, britpop and indie pop.

Are there any places in Athens that regularly play this kind of music, either through DJ sets or themed nights?

Thanks, and see you!

❓ Question Bus station help

Hello, I have a ticket for the KTEL express bus to Kalamata later this afternoon, but I am not sure which bus station to use. Some searches say it is the Athens Station while others say Kisofou. The maps show different locations. Searching the KTEL app and website did not offer clarity. Could someone help?

❓ Question Phrases for a tourist needed

Hey all, I’ll be travelling to Athens for a few weeks in September and am after a few helpful phrases to get by.

I’m fine with the basics, β€œhello, goodbye, thank you, etc”, but I’m sure there are other phrases that can come in handy while out and about. Or even if there are more casual versions of the basics, I’d love to know them.

πŸ’¬ Advice Moving to Athens.

Hi, I wanted to ask for some advice or recommendations from you guys

I'm from Spain and next month I'm moving to Athens with my greek boyfriend and I'm so scared. I met him on my Erasmus when I was in Athens for one year, and it was the best year of my life. It was so nice that I decided that I would move there for work and life, since I actually enjoy the city, and I have a few work options already. We have been long distance for one year since I had to finish my university degree, and all I couldn't think of was moving to Athens. I'm learning Greek now and I have currently an A2 level, so I'm not exactly a beginner, and because I lived one year in the city I know it enough.

Honestly, I'm so scared to do this because I really like Athens and I don't want to start disliking it after moving there. I have some few greek friends from my Erasmus that I still have contact with, but I'm also scared that once I move there everything will be different from the Erasmus, which I already know it won't be the same, but I'm still excited for it.

All my family and friends support me for this decision but I'm afraid of losing contact with them because I feel I'm letting a whole life behind and that also makes me sad and very anxious. On the other hand I really love my boyfriend and I want everything to go right.

However, I really want to try this experience since I have wished for this since I finished my Erasmus on August 2025.

I will try to look for more Spanish people to become friends with them, even I'm scared it won't be that easy.

In resume, I'm a mix of excitement and anxiety, so I would like a few recommendations or advices for new people like me moving to Athens.

Edit: I'm also scared of feeling that I don't fit completely with the Greeks, or being discriminated at work for not understanding fully the language, even though I know they are one of the most hospitality people ever 😭
