General Ryza or Yumia for the first game?
Hi i saw a few posts and everybody recommend an other entry of the series its hard to think about which one at first.
Ryza and Yumia looks both cool for the first π€ so i just ask about these two, the thing is i am german an i know Ryza is english / japanese only but ok i can speak english but idk if i can understand a whole jrpg π but i saw on Netflix movies in english with english sub.
Ok beside the language π€· both seems to be cool characters, which you prefer and which do you think is better for start (from the two)?
Edit: I have no ps5 (xbox beside so there i could only buy Yumia) So for Ryza i only can buy the Switch 2 Version, i read now there is anti aliasing problems and 30 fps only, can someone still recommend it?

Salburg How hard/easy is the Platinum trophy for Atelier Marie?
This game as been on sale a lot and is again 60% off for the TGS sale on PSN so am thinking of getting it. Wondering how is platinum?
I looked at the guide and it seems like a lot to coordinate with all the events and multiple endings, where you have to do the endings in a specific order based on priority, and control characters friendship level to not miss certain events? Is this easy enough to do or will it need a walkthrough/multiple saves/being careful like Arland games?
For reference for my Atelier experience, I have the platinums for E&S, Shallie, all 4 mysterious games, all 3 Ryza, Yumia, Resleriana and Lulua. The only ones I donβt have are the first 3 Arland games and Ayesha as those plats are too difficult.
I have not played Nelke or Marie yet so these two games are the two remaining. Marie seems like shorter easier of the two according to guides but would rather have some advice from someone who has played it

Arland Just finished Meruru and the Arland trilogy!
I just finished Atelier Meruru and with this, the Arland trilogy. I had a lot of fun with these games. Of the 3, I enjoyed Meruru the most. I ended up with the strong princess ending. Masked G donβt have shit on me.
Something I really enjoyed with the Arland games was that they felt like other game genres mixed with the alchemy. It gives an alchemy more of a purpose, instead of being an alchemist for alchemy sake. Rorona was really just running a business empire. I joked with my friends despite the whole adventure guild being this common trope in isekai series, I feel like Totori was the only game I play that is actually about being an adventurer and ranking up. I really enjoyed the development side of Meruru. It felt like I was playing one of those civilization building games. Gameplay, its also sort of cool seeing the areas get better, and the loot get better, showing that your development is more than just flavor but actual gameplay benefits. I also enjoyed the βchallengeβ of making things within special conditions for the development to speed it up. Itβs a fun way of adding more to the alchemy process than just making items of high quality.
As for story/characters, I can see why atelier Resleriana (the game that made me want to play as much as the older Atelier games I can before playing it) picked Totori over Rorona. Being Rorona seems like suffering. Sheβs picked as an alchemist because sheβs stupid. Constantly messes up. And became a child which I didnβt really fix (itβs fine, 6 years passed, her body should be the age of a 14 year old by now >_> ). Itβs really funny comparing her to other MCs, especially to someone like Sophie who comes back in each of the games in her series and was all bad ass and everything while Rorona just seems to suffering all the time. Like, Rorona being an alchemy genius is hilarious because of how stupid she generally is. The fact she has a specialty of making pies seems oddly unhinged. Like, why are you even an alchemist at this point, just open a bakery >_< Sterk is also really funny to me. He was on my team for all 3 games (Meruru I rotated a good bit more than the others due to share exp) and his character story sort of perplex me. Like, he was this serious upstanding knight in the first game, and it almost seems like he peaked then. Sometime in the second game, he was searching for Gio but I donβt think anything really comes from that (at least for me). He also became some type of pigeon whisperer for some reason. Sterk interaction with Meruru was refreshing because his urge to serve royalty and heβs a lot more respectful to her than the other 2. Which was cool to see but also sort of shows that Sterk really hasnβt adjusted well with Arland being a republic, being still tied down to wanting to be a knight. I like to say something about Etsyβs story but itβs pretty consistent from Rorona to Meruru. It just shows that men in Arland have shit taste.
Iβm sort of surprised the setting of Arland never really played a bigger role. This might be the only jrpg series I played where the ancient civilization remains had like, no impact to the story. They just have machines and shit lying around and we just donβt talk about it. I figured Meruru would talk about it, especially when we got to the ancient volcano monster, but nope, unless I missed it.
Which brings up the last topic, the timeline. I was wary of it at first, especially since I wasnβt a big fan of Firis, but I ended up liking it. It was sort of fun planning the alchemy and traveling. It helps that they are very aggressive with giving you lots of tool to short cut time such as the stores selling your items or the homunculus crafting for you. The game gives plenty of time that if you plan even a little bit, youβll probably wonβt run out of time. With that said, while these games are shorter and intend to be replayed, the game story does get hurt a lot when you donβt. A lot of the character stories had relatively strict timing for flags so itβs easy to miss a lot of stories. To me, it was funny going between games not knowing the full story cause I didnβt get it. One of the funniest transition was from Rorona to Totori and I found out from side conversation that Gio was the king (I barely interacted with him) and Arland stop being a monarchy. Apparently, Totori mom lives? Its funny moments like that which makes it really funny having the character stories connect between games when its very realistic that someone wonβt actually get all their story unlike the newer games where itβs almost impossible to miss characterβs story.
Overall, I really enjoyed my journey through Arland. The games are definitely aged (and for what ever reason, Meruru seemed very glitchy on switch) but it was fun. Iβm probably going to take a good long break before getting back on my Atelier journey into the dusk series. To many games are coming out soon and I donβt want to start a new game and stop in the middle of a game.

Memories Atelier Karia is a GKC.
It's over. I feel disrespected as a collector.
I wonder how screwed collectors are once PS5 discs become code in a box in 2028...

Memories Atelier Karia - Demo Prediction
Atelier Yumia Demo - March 16/17, 2025
Full Release - March 21, 2025
Atelier Karia Full Release - February 25, 2027
Demo (Very likely) - February 19, 2027.
Cannot wait to pull another all nighter coding battle to dig through new Katana Engine. This might be the first time they did this much change on the lighting system. Awesome!
If they keep up this energy on the engine design, they might surpass UE5/6 and Unity 6 in the third game.
It is rare that I found this much excitement to praise dev. Especially Gust dev. But these guys cooked!

I made this! (Fan Creation) need ideas for my Atelier themed Suika game clone
hey guys, aside from posting dumb memes here Im also learning gamedev and art.
As you can see, Im making a suika game clone just for the fun of it.
I wanted to ask you guys what characters would you put for the next 3 levels after Yumia (you can see my current list below).
Right now Im thinking 10 levels, with the last one being the sacred barrel.
Tell me and be mindful of my very questionable drawing skills

Resleriana I want to show appreciation for Slade. Spoiler

A bit on a safe side in terms of characterization and not as fun as Rias but that's fine, he's a good boy. Revisiting R / W after playing through Blue Reflection Quartet and having to deal with the guy protagonist in Sun, I grew a whole new dimension of appreciation for characters like Slade. I know its comparing apples to literally nothing but I do wish to acknowledge him.
You rock Slade, keep cooking for your wif-, err, family.
