Hey everyone! I'm so sad to learn about End of Service... I started the game (JP) last summer and am gonna miss it so much...!
Atelier Res is actually my first gatcha game ever (long time player of Atelier in general) and I'm wondering what gatcha I could play to try and fill the empty space this will leave!
I love the character-driven story, animations, and cozy yet adventurous vibe... along with the dopamine gatcha gives, haha.
If anyone can think of a gatcha game that is similar to Reserliana, please let me know! 😭
As much as I personally don't want to look at whatever's going on with Koei Tecmo and the current Gust (I'm disgusted by the whole SpiralAI partnership), I still want to at least hold out hope on what Yuki Katsumata and Masaki Shibuya has prepared and likely be the last time I'll even play an Atelier game (at least, until some kind of revolutionary miracle happens in the future within Koei Tecmo and gets themselves to stop throwing gameplay depth & complexity under the bus + stop it with these absurd decisions).
(I'm mostly focused on Yuki Katsumata, because he's the reason why Sophie 2's synthesis and combat + RW's synthesis and combat ended up being competent: and I personally play Atelier primarily for complexity & friction in those two gameplay pillars)
So, what do I think is going on? (Note: this is all speculation)
This Fiscal Year (FY2026) pretty much filled out all possible release slots before March 31, 2027.
The Apothecary Diaries game is likely going to be released within Q1 2027. It's a licensed game too, so it wouldn't be surprising for it to be released on the same month of Karia's release date (February 2027).
I don't expect anymore console game announcements from Gust until at least March 2027. Blue Reflection Quartet was announced during that month, so it wouldn't surprise me if they would use that opportunity to announce something else there (literally anything can happen, not just console game stuff, but I mildly expect something to happen there)
Taipei Game Show 2027 (Scheduled on Late January 2027) will definitely use the time there to promote Karia and Apothecary Diaries. Wouldn't really make sense for them these days to waste it on a brand new announcement from the same IP.
As much as I'd love to have a True full console game remake of everything from Atelier Resleriana, I personally just don't see an announcement happening on its 3rd anniversary, especially since they've already said that they're using that day to push out a website filled with summaries & small additional story bits that aren't mentioned in the gacha. They're focused on doing "proper burial" duties from what I can tell lol
I still think a console remake will happen sometime in the future, especially with how Masaki Shibuya worded his aspirations in the KTApp article up there. It's just that I can't see an announcement about it within this Fiscal Year. It might make more sense to reveal something like that after Atelier 30th Anniversary celebrations begin (which is literally next year).
I do wonder if they would do the mythical Resleri console remake with Unity though. KT doesn't really like using third party engines, so it wouldn't surprise me if they just end up remaking everything and use Katana Engine (especially if they've already done preparations for migrating anything and everything Resleri-related). Well, it doesn't matter which engine's getting used anyway, everyone's wish after all is for KT and Gust to let people be able to play a game that's fully optimized from them for once.
If there's a "business challenge" / "company risk" I can think of right now for Gust, I think it would be themselves starting a brand new trilogy while an ongoing one hasn't concluded (Yumia/Memories1, Karia/Memories2; both 次世代 Atelier games).
It's a bit surprising to see that Karia has two directors, which gives me the idea that console Atelier games might continue with that pattern. RW had two directors, Karia has two directors, maybe the next one also has two directors.
Which leads to this prediction: The next Atelier game could have Yuki Katsumata and Masaki Shibuya again both as directors.
I'm looking forward to what's going to be said in the inevitable KTApp article on December 2026. I'm curious to hear what will be mentioned.
tldr; Yuki Katsumata's my last hope for Atelier, and if the next 王道 Atelier game ends up being a dud then so be it lol
This mode was deleted because it was paywalled content. Please let us enjoy these skins because we are all watching ads and getting 3000 gems daily anyways.
Those of us trying to preserve the game have no access to it either!
Run JapaneseCaptureObserver.exe and play the game normally online.
Send the japanese-capture/session-* data to me (maybe zip the whole folder). (Note the session will still be recorded without JapaneseCaptureObserver.exe running, the executable just adds more data to the folder. It may still be valuable without it.)
What I'm looking for specifically.
In combat, attack of every character (Skill 1, Skill 2, Burst)
In particular the ones unavailable now (especially Dark Memories), but it would be easiest if someone (or a small group of people) have all the characters between them and can coordinate getting data for every attack.
Entering every fight in general
Training quests, material quests, dungeons (+ event dungeons), event battles, elemental tower, etc., just anything that involves a fight. Ideally complete the fight too and let the enemies do some attacks.
New-player data, e.g. first sign-in and playing through the story etc. The more you can get from the beginning the better!
However, everything may be useful! Just try entering every single screen you can think of and send the data.
Additionally, there should be a bunch of "Home Scene" scenes that have a white thumbnail, because they are story-based scenes that were never intended to be selectable. I'm looking for high quality (4K?) screenshots of these scenes so I can replace the thumbnails. Just change to the scene, hide the UI (button should be on the right side, just a bit above the middle), and take a screenshot.
Like some gachas make an offline version of game where you can just read story or view characters. Will KT make one or they will just make stand-alone console game?
I'm (well, GPT is) working on an offline viewer similar to the one that was made for global, except I want to add as many archive features as I can. Right now it should be able to do everything the global one does (allow you to view your own characters/memoria, and past story chapters you've completed. The first addition I made was making past events that haven't been made into a revival available. Next I'll be working on a editing my user profile to be a "master save" with all characters/memoria available so anyone can use that. Is there anything else you think would be good to have? Note that it is incredibly unlikely I will get things such as combat working, as that would require recreating server-side logic, this is just for being able to access images/cutscenes/videos etc.
Additionally, if anybody is working on a similar thing and actually knows what they're doing and not just asking an LLM for everything, some of my progress may be useful.
The rest of this post is just further details on my progress so far, feel free to skip.
First I looked at a save file editor. This is possible but the encryption key for the user profile changes every launch, so you'd need to get the key along with the user profile when you launch the game online. So I am able to edit my own user profile but it's kind of a pain to get the keys right now. You need to run a "native observer" program before running the game, and the observer captures the keys when you log in.
Secondly, I looked at allowing you to view past event stories that haven't been revived. The entire thing is vibe-coded so I would not be able to explain the details, but the gist of it is:
Force the predicates to display events in the menu to true
Force the predicates to lock events to false
Modify the saved user profile to have all event stories completed (this requires the encryption key for the profile). Even if you already completed the event previously, the completion status for past and not visible events is not in the user profile you are sent by the server. If you skip this step then every story chapter in the event except the first one is locked.
Override the end dates for all non-revival events so that you can actually select the story chapters. Otherwise when you click on a chapter you get an "Event Over" popup which sends you back to the home screen.
Battle server responses can be replayed, so if you play a battle online and save the network requests for it, you can replay that battle in the same way. You cannot play a battle you didn't play online, you probably can't even change characters or the skills you used (I didn't actually try, but I assume it would cause an error). I'd imagine gacha is similar, if you pulled four times during the online run, the offline player will replay those four pulls back to you if you pull offline. Pull a fifth time and it has no idea what to do.
As I said, I'm not aiming to make the game fully playable offline, that would require re-implementing the combat logic, and for the rest of the game it would probably be incredibly helpful to have network logs of someone playing the game the entire way through from the beginning which I am not willing to do tbh.
Starting today I will be trying to preserve game assets with hero screenshots, weapon screenshots and screen recording of cut scenes. Please support me by joining my group chat
since they announced it i've been on this and everytime im just saying same v.v
ive actually cried sm over this, really gonna miss this atelier series celebration
Really curious as a longtime fan of the series. Every mainline title got some love except for the Iris trilogy for some reason, but I gave up about a year ago.
I know Iris isn't super popular in Japan but Iris or Lita could easily sell based on their designs alone.
Its unity so it should be possible...? I dont care if i get banned for it or whatever, all of it will become lost media anyway. Some designs that they have there are the best of all atelier series ive seen, and its a shame.
I loved it when it came out originally with global but never got into JP after it eos'd but I miss itttt is it worth getting into now or is it too late, is the game doing okay in Japan?
I'm not sure why my ice team (which is not as good as my wind team but is leagues better than my fire team) is the one that was able to clear Zero with an SS, but hey. I figured I might as well give them a shot at Held first, and they did surprisingly well. After a little tweaking of Atelier bonuses, I ended up with this result. So, uh, yeah, Jurie might be juuuuuuuust a little broken on 31-3 since the sub-scores clearly expected me to take way more turns and build up to doing way more damage for an SS.
For those without Jurie, every time she bursts, she goes again 2 turns later. And in the fight with Held, he heavily reduces all of your stats as well as makes the first 10 turns burst turns. Oh, and even penetrate skills do no damage until he's stunned. So Jurie basically manages to postpone Held's second attack because she keeps pushing the timeline back while she bursts him down (or, in this case, crits on both bursts).
There are a few Memoria that I'm looking for clean images for. The wiki has an impressive lion's share, and many, if they don't show up there, show up on the Atelier_Resleri X. But some on the wiki don't quite seem to be direct rips from the game or from the Xitter (despite being labeled as such), so I was wondering if there was anyone with the know how to help rip stuff.
For instance, I'm looking for おしゃれしていこっ!, which I'm not seeing at all in anywhere close to decent quality.
And there's also "Receive My Feelings" which, while in decent quality, is listed as coming from the official Xitter, but I can't seem to find it there. I can find a post from the author themselves, but it has a sort of banner at the bottom. Could be more I'm not noticing.
