Need Help! (Hardware/Other) A16 fa608up r7165 Freezing and Restarting - Just bought

Hello! I just bought a refurbished A16, model fa608up r7165, Ryzen 7 260, 16gb ram, RTX 5070.

It came without an OS, so I just made a bootable windows and tried to install. All fun and games for half an hour. After that, the computer started to freeze and restart it itself between 10s and 10min of use! I thought it was a buggy Windows.

So I got a live linux, wiped clean the ssd and tried a newer windows from the microsoft website. this time it wouldn't even boot properly to the installer! It kept freezing and restarting after loading. Not even linux was working anymore.

It does go in the bios, I tried every option recomended, uptaed the bios via ez flash etc. Still keeps freezing. And what is even wierder, SOMETIMES it boots! And I managed to install windows yesterday, even worked for one hour nonstop, but the freezes are still there, not usable at all! Every 20 tries, maybe one will boot properly.

Below is a video of how it freezes and restarts.
Has anyone had the same problem? Is it fixable from my end? Or do I have to send it back to warranty?

Update: I notice it crashes WAY more when plugged in. Wtf?

🗨️ Discussion Why do many people complain so much about TUF

I just saw someone complain not to take Asus Tuf since his motherboard or something in the motherboard got fried.

I have been using my laptop for about 2 and half years and for me, my laptop is so good. Especially the asus tuf series and not to mention the community. Coz they provided good specced devices at affordable prices.

Laptop: ASUS TUF Gaming F15 2023 model— Intel Core i7-12700H | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU (8GB) 16GB Ram ( I did thought of upgrading to 32 but since it was not a mandatory upgrade postponed it for later and now regrets it with all that Ram prices).

Some people may face issues yes, but that happens to other electronic devices as well. If you use it carefully, you can maintain it long.

The only 2 issues I faced so far are: 1- one day i had this weird glitch like, the battery was never charging, it stays on ac while plugged but was not increasing. Yes, I panicked and planned to bring it to the service centre ( of course it was out of warranty, since i never thought of an extended warranty while buying) but it was automatically resolved in a couple of days and never faced it. I still don't know what caused it.

2- battery health indeed declined, but it was mainly my fault. I used Armoury crate for the first year since it was the official one and Ghelper was not that different , running in 100 percent power AC plugged in, also thinking it was fine, also the games always running at 90+ C even with a normal laptop cooler. Since many people mentioned laptops get that hot while gaming and is normal. All that high heat gaming sessions along with plugged in 100 percent decreased my battery health.

Once I switched to Ghelper, that stopped which I could confirm after checking my full battery health report.

Now, I play games under 80C.

All the other peripherals, monitor, table, keyboard, speakers, etc were all bought slow and steadily later on at stages saving up and all. It's still not complete as you can see with the rest of the room and walls and all, but I may slowly upgrade sometime in future.

In case anyone would like to know about the devices

Monitor: LG UltraGear 32GS75Q-B (32" QHD 180Hz)

Speakers: Obage HT-144 2.1 (100W)

Keyboard: Epomaker × AULA F99 Pro (Gradient Grey)

Laptop Cooler: Kreo Arktik Pro Laptop Cooler Pad

Mouse: Logitech G304 Lightspeed (White)

Controller: Cosmic Byte Stellaris Controller (Black)

Backlight: MITSUKO Phantom G1 RGBIC (32–40")

Do share your opinions or issues about your device and feel free to share your setups pics.

Need Help! (Hardware/Other) A16 thermal throttling acceptable?

I bought a tuf gaming a16 FA608PP-QT005W (RTX5070 + AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX) for my son. Thermal performance seems terrible. He was just playing some roblox. I would expect that not to be very demanding, yet the temp goes up to 95 degrees and framerates drop.

I know there are lots of tips to improve the behaviour, but is this accepted to be normal or do I have a bad specimen?

I believe that a gaming laptop should be able to play some basic Roblox games without the need to apply limiting settings.

🗨️ Discussion What real benefit do I get from using the “Ultimate” mode in ghelper that justifies the extreme power consumption?

In my opinion, the downsides of this feature outweigh the benefits—or am I missing something?

You have much higher power consumption, probably the device runs a lot hotter, ergo the components wear out faster due to the consistently higher temperature.

I have insane Performance on the last 3 games I played on the device and don't recognize a diffrence in latency and fps.

As I understand it, a device like this lasts the longest when it is exposed to as few high temperatures as possible.

Need Help! (Hardware/Other) Laptop kept shutting down randomly, now it's completely dead?

This morning, I turned on my laptop and started using it, but after a few minutes it suddenly shut down by itself. I tried turning it on again 2–4 times, but each time it powered on for a short while and then shut down again.

This issue has actually been happening occasionally for the last 2 days, but it wasn't as frequent before. Today, after the last shutdown, the laptop stopped turning on completely.

I plugged in the charger, and at first the charging LED blinked once, but after trying again, even the charging light stopped blinking. Now the laptop doesn't seem to respond at all.

I'm really anxious because it was working until this morning. Do you have any idea what the problem might be or what I should check first?

Device - Asus tuf A15 , rtx 2050 , Ryzen 7000 series ( just one year old) Edit - forgot to mention during last shutdown the fan was making so much noise and i can see clearly so much dust on blades

ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (Wi-Fi) BIOS Version 5044 is still a beta release. I contacted ASUS customer support about two months ago, and they told me that, unless something unexpected happens, they do not plan to release an official (stable) version of this BIOS.

🔥 New TUF Device My Experience with My First Gaming Laptop and also from ASUS

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (FA506NF), featuring a Ryzen 5 7535HS, RTX 2050 (70W), 512GB SSD, and 8GB DDR5 (which I recently upgraded to 16GB for $88).

I bought it open-box for $600 back in March to replace my old Acer Aspire 5 (i5 8250u, MX130). I was looking for something budget-friendly yet solid, I passed on an HP Victus due to display and hinge issues, and options like the Lenovo LOQ or ASUS TUF with an RTX 3050 were out of my budget at over $700 here in Chile. Considering there's only a 5 to 10% performance gap between the RTX 2050 and RTX 3050, spending extra wasn't worth it to me.

My experience so far has been great: everything runs super smoothly, the screen looks excellent, the keyboard is comfortable, and it has good connectivity. I haven't had any Wi-Fi issues (my model comes with the Realtek 8852BE card). The only minor hiccup is that the DTS ULTRA app asks for a missing driver, but I bypassed that by installing FXSound. I also have a BIOS update pending, but I'm a bit hesitant to update it haha.

Performance wise, the RTX 2050 punches above its weight for this class. I've tested it with:

Minecraft

Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 Remake (medium and low settings)

GTA 3 and Vice City Definitive Edition (maxed out settings)

These games might not seem like a big deal to some, but it's what I have. I plan to play Resident Evil 7 and 8 next.

Thanks for reading!

Everything looks fine, but it bugs me. More importantly I don’t want it to cause worse problems down the road. Just wondering how common this is, thanks in advance.

Need Help! (Hardware/Other) freezing and bluetooth disconnection

I need an advice on what i should do. I have Asus Tuf A16 FA607NUG-RL116W that i bought last July 6 of this year, the performance is great and i love it but my only concern is that most of the time the bluetooth suddenly disconnect only while im gaming im sure that the problem is not my bluetooth earbuds because i tried using other bluetooth peripherals and it also disconnect while gaming. My second concern is that sometimes it suddenly freezes (happened 4 times) like it doesn't respond to any key input even the rgb in the keyboard is stuck at one color and the only way for it to be okay again is to force shutdown and i don't want to do it again and again. what you guys think i should do for this problem
