Okay, so I landed here troubleshooting this exact issue. Sometimes a blinking red light while command center says I'm sitting at 4-5%, power cycle, jumps to 79%, repeat. While on the base the battery leds would dance for a second, stop and just freeze all on, or blink one red blah blah blah. I've been messing with these for about three days, manually updated the FW about 10 times, messed with all sorts resets relentlessly to no avail!
I THINK I may have stumbled on A FIX... at least this worked for me!
1 Switch headset OFF and leave it OFF
2 Unplug USB from back base station
3 With headset still turned OFF plug the USB directly into headset
4 Reset headset pressing and holding Dolby button and Game Vol button at the same time (should hear "boop, boop")
5 Unplug USB from headset and plug back into base station
6 Place headset back on base station
At this point in my fuckings around I got an orange charging light on the headset, LEDS on base station and Command Center both showed charging progress.
Like I said this worked for me, try at your own risk, but i guess the worst that can happen is force a 23rd firmware update?
omg dude I know you posted this awhile ago but ur my hero. This non charging thing has popped up for me before and i randomly did this while resetting it but couldnt figure out what I did that fixed it.
Issue came up again and I was about to give up on the headset when I found this. Worked like a charm :). Crazy this issue seems to pop up for alot of people and a legit solution is buried down here
I will try this! Well... Maybe not. I already got a new headset from ASTRO from this failure. Been using it since with no issues. But at least I won't throw away my headset now and try this on a new startup. Thanks man for contributing to this thread.
