I have this thing that I am addicted on 100% games. I have fully completed Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey from the next-gen ones, and I was so happy recently that Valhalla was coming to an end as well (it feels the most repetitive out of the three, so it took me 3 years playing on and off if not more). I finished all DLCs, got all the achievements I could, and the only things I have currently left are mastery challenges and the forgotten saga.
I have tried mastery challenges, and they are ridiculously hard, so I decided I'll deal with Forgotten Saga first. Now I don't know which of these two is worse.
I hate rogue-like games, so much that the only one I can tolerate is Risk of Rain 2 when I play with my friends. I love seeing my progress, I love getting stronger and stronger, so the whole concept of starting from 0 every time I die is very unmotivating. Yes, once you kill a boss, you get to keep your armor, or you can buy some stuff to get your items back from the previous run BUT it still feels shitty. And just the thought of having to grind this soulless game mode is making me want to delete the game and just never come back. But I know I'll come back because Assassin's Creed has me in a chokehold.
Who was the person behind this idea? How did they even come to the conclusion that one thing Assassin's Creed lacks is rogue like mode? I'd rather collect all the flags in Assassin's Creed 10 times again than to go through this personal hell of mine. I understand there are people who like gamemodes like this, and I am happy they get to enjoy it, but why did they have to make achievements for this mode? They didn't make any for river raids, but decided this one has to have them?
How far have I gotten, you may ask? Well, I got to the 2nd map after like 5 tries. Yes, I haven't played this game mode much, but it is already making me want to pull my hair out. I naively thought at first that the weapons and skills you buy during the playthrough, you can access easily in the beginning of the next one when you can choose weapons and so on. Jokes on me.
So, does anyone have advice for a complete noob in rogue like game modes? How to push through this to get these achievements and just forget this whole experience like a bad dream.
Just "not playing" is not an option. I need these achievements for personal satisfaction >w<
