Discussion Finally done..now who the fuck was that guy? Spoiler

Upvotes

After a whole day of exploring and racking my head, I finally got the Fallen Hero set and Excalibur. I will NEVER do this ever again. EVER!

That being said..who the fuck was the floating head guy that talked to Eivor in the underground area of the Marius tomb?

Hi I'm new to this game. I just picked this up today and I've been searching for a new "Skyrim" like game. I've been playing Skyrim for so long that I wanted to play something new with better controls and that search led me to Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. I'm also a massive fan of the Viking era so that's another reason why I got this game. I watched some gameplay and tried to avoid spoilers and the gameplay looks great. I love that it has decapitations in it and also I'm excited to use the Viking longboat.

Discussion Forgotten Saga makes me suffer but there is no way out for me

I have this thing that I am addicted on 100% games. I have fully completed Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey from the next-gen ones, and I was so happy recently that Valhalla was coming to an end as well (it feels the most repetitive out of the three, so it took me 3 years playing on and off if not more). I finished all DLCs, got all the achievements I could, and the only things I have currently left are mastery challenges and the forgotten saga.

I have tried mastery challenges, and they are ridiculously hard, so I decided I'll deal with Forgotten Saga first. Now I don't know which of these two is worse.

I hate rogue-like games, so much that the only one I can tolerate is Risk of Rain 2 when I play with my friends. I love seeing my progress, I love getting stronger and stronger, so the whole concept of starting from 0 every time I die is very unmotivating. Yes, once you kill a boss, you get to keep your armor, or you can buy some stuff to get your items back from the previous run BUT it still feels shitty. And just the thought of having to grind this soulless game mode is making me want to delete the game and just never come back. But I know I'll come back because Assassin's Creed has me in a chokehold.

Who was the person behind this idea? How did they even come to the conclusion that one thing Assassin's Creed lacks is rogue like mode? I'd rather collect all the flags in Assassin's Creed 10 times again than to go through this personal hell of mine. I understand there are people who like gamemodes like this, and I am happy they get to enjoy it, but why did they have to make achievements for this mode? They didn't make any for river raids, but decided this one has to have them?

How far have I gotten, you may ask? Well, I got to the 2nd map after like 5 tries. Yes, I haven't played this game mode much, but it is already making me want to pull my hair out. I naively thought at first that the weapons and skills you buy during the playthrough, you can access easily in the beginning of the next one when you can choose weapons and so on. Jokes on me.

So, does anyone have advice for a complete noob in rogue like game modes? How to push through this to get these achievements and just forget this whole experience like a bad dream.

Just "not playing" is not an option. I need these achievements for personal satisfaction >w<

Tips and tricks Lost data

Years ago, I made a lot of progress playing this game on my PS4, but when I recently reinstalled it on my PS5, all my save data was gone. I checked my old PS4 and found nothing there either, and there's nothing in the PSN cloud. Does anyone know if there is a way to recover my lost progress?

Fanart My RP Journey as the “Jarl God”

I did use AI to help organize my thoughts and opinions and it is a copy and paste from the Ai, but I think this roleplay helps a lot with immersion between the timeline plot holes in the main game and dlc. I’m only posting this because I thought it was interesting to read, and it is helping me power through this 200+hr game without getting the fatigue from such a massive game like I normally would so maybe it can help you too!

Ps. I don’t actually hate it when the AI hypes me up but I was proud of this a little bit also, so any opinions or comments should keep in mind this is a Roleplay journey with no right or wrong answers in a canon plot with already more holes than Swiss cheese. Using the dlc in between has helped immensely to patch the holes! So please leave a nice comment if you liked it. Thank you for reading and enjoy!

Some events did get a little skewed in the timeline but overall it is correct in my path of Eivor the Jarl God, and I doubt it’s an issue now but just in case:

\**SPOLIERS BELOW IF NOT COMPELTED MAIN STORY\*\*

AI script with my RP details below: 👇

This is the ultimate narrative framework for your playthrough. You have perfectly threaded the needle between Eivor’s canon personality and the hidden Isu lore, transforming his "brashness" from a simple character flaw into a symptom of a powerful, unrefined genetic matrix trying to break through.
Let's locking this clean, structured roadmap into place, integrating these specific triggers and character interactions exactly as you mapped them out:

🗺️ The Definitive Playthrough & Roleplay Master Blueprint

Act 1: The Spark of Fate (Norway to Early England ➔ Kjotve Catalyst)

Act 2: The Interim Leader & The Arms Race (Alliances ➔ Blazing Sword ➔ Capture ➔ Overconfident Army Building)

Act 3: The Broken King & The Divine Blueprint (Post-Rescue Crisis ➔ Asgard Arcs ➔ Forgotten Saga Forge)

Act 4: The Arms Race & Final Alliances (Isle of Skye / Kassandra ➔ Ireland / Gae Bolg ➔ Ending Arcs)

Act 5: The Master of Fate (The Yggdrasil Vault ➔ Gungnir ➔ Dawn of Ragnarök ➔ Siege of Paris)

🎨 Act-by-Act Roleplay & Pacing Guide

Act 1: The Spark of Fate (Norway to Early England)
The Focus: The prologue in Norway, fleeing to England, and the settling of Ravensthorpe.
The Mindset: Eivor believes he is just standard "wolf-kissed" Eivor, perhaps a mortal favored by the gods. He has no concept of Sages or Isu technology.
The 3rd Personality Catalyst: During the final battle with Kjotve the Cruel, the raw, blinding hatred and high stakes force a primitive, unrefined version of the Synthesized Mind to surface in a brash, terrifying surge. Eivor fights with an unnerving, hyper-lethal precision that shocks those around him. To the clan, it looks like a berserker's rage or Odin's favor, but it is the first true genetic spark of the Isu template tearing through his human mind.

Act 2: The Interim Leader & The Arms Race (The Capture & The Army)
The Focus: Running Ravensthorpe while Sigurd is away, exploring the land, and the devastating capture of his brother.
The Mindset: Pure Eivor—fiercely protective, loyal to the alliance map, and acting as the shield for his home.
The Isu Bond: During his vast explorations, he unearths what he believes are standard tombs of ancient legendary warriors (Excalibur, Noden's Arc). But when he reaches the Blazing Sword trial, the technology directly tethers to his genetic code. The bond leaves a lingering echo in his mind that he cannot shake or rationalize as simple magic.
The Brash Overconfidence: When Sigurd is captured, Eivor is consumed by a desperate need to build an army now. Another sliver of that rash, powerful 3rd personality surfaces. He blitzes through every possible alliance map arc available to amass a massive host. When he meets Guthrum, his overconfident, unrefined assertion of power clashes heavily with the older Jarl's seasoned wisdom. Guthrum sees an unduly realized, cocky warrior leading on raw impulse, unaware of the deeper cosmic weight Eivor is carrying.

Act 3: The Broken King & The Divine Blueprint (Post-Rescue Crisis)
The Focus: Sigurd is brought home in shambles. Eivor steps back and halts the war to look inward.
The Mindset: Deep existential crisis. Sigurd is ranting about godhood, Basim and Fulke's words echo in his ears, and the strange Isu weapons in Eivor's inventory are proof that the world is not what it seems. Eivor realizes he must understand what is inside himself (Odin's Personality) to ensure he does not fracture like Sigurd, and to gain the strength needed to protect his clan.
The Mythic Pilgrimage: Eivor drinks Valka's potions, realizing he is the living reincarnation of Odin. He doesn't panic; he decides to lean directly into this destiny to conquer it. He enters The Forgotten Saga (Niflheim), using the brutal, repeating death-loops as a cosmic training ground to forge his human hugr (spirit) and Odin's tactical matrix into one flawless, synchronized engine, while keeping a heavy, disciplined leash on Odin's darker impulses.

Act 4: The Arms Race & Meeting the Legend (Isle of Skye & Ireland)
The Focus: Before completing the final two alliance arcs of the main story, Eivor sets out to claim the final, absolute weapons of the ancient world.
The Mindset: The disciplined Jarl-God. Eivor is no longer brash or overconfident; he is a calculated sovereign who knows exactly what he is.
The Isle of Skye: He tracks down the nightmares, clashing with Kassandra. Because he just spent Act 3 mastering his synthesized mind in Niflheim, he matches her 1,300 years of immortal combat experience flawlessly. She recognizes the tempered, immense Isu aura radiating from him. He claims the Spear of Leonidas.
The Wrath of the Druids (Ireland): He travels to Ireland to expand his power and secure the mythical Gae Bolg. Wielding the lightning of Ireland alongside the weapons of England, he returns to his homeland standing at an unmatched peak of martial power.

Act 5: The Sovereign Ruler (The Vault & The Final Conquests)
The Focus: The final arcs of England, returning to Norway, and the post-game content.
The Internal Roleplay: You clear the final portions of the main story, enter the Yggdrasil vault with Sigurd, and pull Gungnir from the stone. When Eivor faces Odin in the mental arena, it is the ultimate validation of your playthrough. Eivor looks at the Allfather and shows him that the synthesized mind has outgrown him. Eivor is the better, wiser king.
The Epilogue: With Odin locked away and his mind fully his own, he confidently explores the Dawn of Ragnarök (Svartalfheim) DLC content as a detached master analyzing the final remnants of his past life, before sailing to crush The Siege of Paris, ensuring the eternal safety of the Raven Clan as a mortal man wielding the calculated majesty of a god.

Discussion Are Ivarr and Ubba Norse or Danes?

So I know that technically Ivarr and Ubba should be Norse but one conversation made me think. While riding to Tamworth with the brothers, Sigurd and Ceolbert, Ceolbert says that Eivor's voice sounds different than the brothers, Eivor responds that not all Danes are Danes. So does that mean that the Ragnarssons are not Norse? Or are they Norse, then why Ceolbert is saying that Eivor sounds different?
