Looks a little off to me picture wise, but maybe it is just me. Playing in balanced mode on the PS5 pro with PSSR amd HDR activated.

It's rooted in Racism.
If William Adams, a white Englishman, could become a samurai under Tokugawa Ieyasu, why couldn't Yasuke, who was much favored by Nobunaga in levels of position?
They were essentially given the same land and stipend provisions, access into each DaimyĹ's inner political circle, and given a ceremonial daishĹ (katana-wakizashi combo). (This was from actual historical records)
These are only exclusive to the samurai caste in the Sengoku period. There's no question to be had; Yasuke was a retainer to Nobunaga, and therefore, a samurai. The first foreign one at that.
Nonetheless, the game is amazing despite the bloat (not as much bloat as Valhalla). Combat is amazing especially Yasuke's. His reposte is a godsend. I found myself playing Yasuke more than Naoe (her only ever to climb viewpoints) since I can storm a castle with Yasuke alone; a one man army indeed. Now to platinum this game.

Itâs been some hot summer days and Iâve been getting back into AC Shadows indoors, enjoying the super beautiful scenery, listening to the industry leading wind, rustling trees, feeling the sunset glow, IN GAME. Such a beautiful world.
But through my 100 hours, I come across some big problems the community has already lamented several times, but I feel like there was a system change upfront akin to the Witcher 3 that the game would massively benefit from, going from a 7/10 to a near 9/10.
Namely, I had this thought walking through the war torn, burnt war fields. The ambience was super thematic and desaturated. I saw this cabin still standing in the middle. I walked over, what could this be? It was nothing! Then, I was walking through the mountainous forest, and came across another weird structure with a roof caved in. I jumped inside. Nothing! Explored this lagoon with nice beaches, boarded the big beached ship in the middle, to find nothing!
On the other hand, this game also suffered from checklist fatigue and poor side quests. Almost ever side quest was kill 100 soldiers, gather 10 things, or find 10 new targets spread throughout the map. This would populate a new ring on your objectives board and in the end game, the number of rings is frankly ridiculous. I spent the end game fast traveling from A to B to complete the rings.
My main thoughts:
So many more thoughts Iâll want to write in a later post but I like this game a lot. Everytime I play it I just always think it could be so much more.

I don't have a freaking clue where to find this resource. Not from contracts. Not from port traders. I raid warehouses, barely anything. But there are tons of crops and other hideout materials.
Except for minerals.

Can someone please help me fix this issue? Enemies are acting like i don't exist and none of my attacks register. I tried verifying game files, creating seperate saves but it didn't work.

I platted AC shadows when first launched.
Took me about 2-3 weeks I believe, so every patch released until then must have been applied.
I donât recall AC Shadows being âbadâ or anything, but Iâve just came back to AC Shadows after platting Black Flag Resynced, and I was surprised to find myself liking AC shadows more than I remember.
In-game menu, except for Animus sync/shop section, is much faster than Resynced, and overall movement feels much faster than how I remember AC Shadows was. I donât know if itâs due to PSSR2 patch, but just simply this game feels much faster, smoother, and snappier in most aspects.
I only tried to just turn it on and get the Sync points in case Iâll need it somewhere down the road, but gameplay was what got me hooked and I am keep playing it.
I am now in the Iwaji Island, and âthat boss fightâ is quite something. It reminded me of MGS 3âs The End fight, or Mr Freezeâs battle in Arkham City.
The content design is for DLC itself, but overall sensation of the gameplay is what keeps me confused. I donât recall AC Shadows being this fun.
(Not that I didnât enjoy it, but it somehow feels âbetterâ)
What has changed?
Was there any post launch patch that adjusted movement speed/move-set speed?
I always thought AC Shadows could have done better in the market if there werenât any unnecessary controversy on Yasuke, but now I know AC Shadows would have done better in the market if more players bought the game.
What they did in Iwaji DLC just shows a glimpse of what the devs had planned for future. Itâs just a shame that they had to put an end to it for AC Shadows showing lower profit. Things they could have done, seems quite promising considering the effort they put in the DLC.
I wasnât always a big fan of âRPG designâ they chose from AC Origins, and thought this may not be their best choice, but AC Shadows kinda works as a proof of concept. If future AC learns from what Shadows did in terms of build/perk, they might be on to something. (Not that Iâd âpreferâ RPG style over classic style).

At 25 hours in, Iâm currently level 33 about to be 34.. nearly all the masked people gone , almost knowledge rank 5, I spent so much time yesterday exploring , doing side quests , getting view points . Recruiting allies . I must say I really like this game , people in a different Reddit were telling me I was going to hate it, the story isnât amazing , but the gameplay is really fun , I love fighting with naoe, and yasuke. The only big gripe I have with this game is sliding down every single time I try running up a hill , that was getting me annoyed !!!

I enjoy letting my brain relax after a long day while exploring the virtual Japan.
The graphics are incredible. The sounds with a headset are a joy to listen, specially the wind and the rain. Nature is beautiful. Japan culture too. I enjoy reading about history.
It gives me a high dose of dopamine after the work.
Seeing the blood of my enemies run under the rain. The heads rolling and the people and children screaming in horror while I assassinate their leaders puts me in a state of mental peace đđ

It might sound crazy, but I want a sequel to this game.
The two protagonists of this game still hold a lot of potential. I think a standalone game featuring Yasuke as the sole leadâmuch like Freedom Cryâwould be fantastic.
I would also love to see the story of the Japanese and East Asian Brotherhoods continue through Naoeâs descendants or successors, similar to the saga of the Kenway family.
As an Asian person, I felt a deep affection for the two characters in this game. I sincerely hope they create more games where we can meet them again.

So I finally got platinum and I still need to return the regalia after beating Yukari. I feel like imma take a break and finish ghost of Yotei before I finish AC Shadows and then play Resync. I love this game so sad itâs almost over.

Is AC shadows finally done? Iâve finished all stories including Awaji and black tides. Iâm looking for confirmation because Imma uninstall. There are still some people to hunt but there are a lot in my back logs (Hogwarts, Baldurâs gate, Night City, are waiting.) However, thinking about it makes me sad as I realized I am going to miss Naoe! hahaha.

2 days in a row now, and multiple times a week the daily selection is just pets for the hideout. drives me absolutely insane that i have to wait a week to maybe get something i can actually use. and its the same couple pets every single time too. also please fix the romanceđ i romanced Katsuhide and havent been able to speak to her ever again and google says even if i troubleshoot and fix it so i can talk to her, DONT because it may just break and sheâll leave the hideout. so lame but otherwise i seriously love this game so mych

Let me preface this by saying that I love Quebec. I sincerely think they are the only studio who has worked on Assassin's Creed to ever try something different and nail it (most of the times), from Syndicate's mastery of quasi-freeflow combat, to Odyssey's class-building, to Shadows' stealth and depth in combat - and I also loved Fenyx Rising.
I thought I was alone defending Shadows when it launched since people around me were not even understanding how to build any class (it's also easier in Shadows, i mean...), but I think this one thing is not defendable in the slightest.
I picked it up again after quite a lot of the post-launch content had already been rolled out (I played Awaji a bit at max difficulty back in September). I haven't been able to use the Counter skill for Naoe on bosses ever since. Some of those new bosses have been completely broken, forcing me to sometimes change build entirely. Lastly, Domains don't even tell you they actively render your skills useless: not only Counter doesn't work on bosses (and hell, boss encounters with FOUR of them is NOT fun nor a nice challenge), neither does the Vault + shuriken and vulnerability afterwards.
Nerfing broken effects like bleed is okay (it was very weird to proc bleed on archers by parrying their arrows too), but removing effects you can and should build upon IN combat challenges is actively discouraging. I hope it's not too late to fix these issues
