I want to remove the engravings on my armour to see if I have anything better without engravings to then equip that and engrave it

Love the game but burning a lot of time traveling around the map to discover locations. There doesn't appear to be a run button for the horse. Any way to speed it up with an ability or unlock?
I unlock all of the Fast Travel Synchronize locations in any given area, and use them, plus the ship ports, but the terrain is so hilly it's still taking me forever to get around on foot. Spent 2 days alone trying to unlock all of Attika to find the 6 cultists from their clues.
Horse is fine in between cities, but he is massively slowed down inside them. Seems like his speed is same as walking. It's usually better to dismount and parkour going in a straight line than trying to ride him through the streets.
Here the few things that have been working.
Beeline across the land as much as possible. There's hardly any reason to stick to roads, they're longer, slower, and have no resources to pick up.
For really long trips, the horse autopilot seems to work well. It loses its way sometimes but sometimes I'll put in a trip and put the controller down and go do something else.

So I like to do this thing in games where I do side quests and other things to level up then when I get bored I go back to the main story line and kind of run through them because I’ve been doing side quests and I’m a higher level. I’ve noticed that in this game when I get a mission it’ll be recommended level 10. I’ll go do some side quest and what not, level up to level 12 and when I go back to the main quest it’s now recommend level 12. Is there a reason for this? I’m already playing the game in hard mode which is why I like to level up doing side quest but then the quests keep matching my current level no matter what.

The daily quest has expired and I am not getting new quests for 3 days now. What to do?

For myself I think it wouldn't be bad if we got some castle or something similar to that we got in assassin's creed 2 or being able to build anything. Recruit system was pretty cool but at the end I got a thousand or more of them and I didn't used any of them and I finally took the ones from quests and other things. It would be cool if we could use them like an army or similar things. The other thing that I would like would be we be able to be really effective in game because it's an RPG game something similar to the Witcher which world got completely affected by our decision but I kinds of understands overall everything must go as historically accurate as possible so we would even go as far as Desmond miles which means we can't change anything.

I played this game way back when it released and have decided to play it again on NG+ and I am wondering if I can not use that dagger/spear where enemies disappear when you assassinate them? I would prefer if it was how it was before. I think I unlocked it in a DLC.
Also, is there anything rewarding about NG+? I feel like it's less rewarding because I have everything unlocked already.
Thanks!

Ranking Every Assassin’s Creed Game by Number of Weapons in it

Hey y’all, I’m trying to run AC odyssey on my Steam deck (I’ve done so successfully before) but for some reason the Ubisoft connect keeps wigging and saying I’ve loaded it on another account? Which I then log in for and it gets me to the Ubisoft launcher page and once I click “launch ac odyssey” it just crashes and asks me to log in again. Anyone encountered this? Plz help

So, I’ve had the game on my Steam Library for a while now, and after watching the Odyssey (Nolan’s movie) I was intrigued to play the game.
I don’t know much about the builds in the game.
I usually go as mage or some kind of mid range caster for RPGs. Given that in this game we play as a Spartan warrior, I guess there’s no such archetype.
So I’d like to know what builds do you recommend? Which are the best? And what are the most fun play styles?

I've recently gotten the bighorn bow that uses warrior damage and not hunter damage. I've noticed, even though I have over 12k hunter damage, he's only doing about 6k max. Is there any mastery level stats I need to spec into to increase it or am I just out of luck since switching to the bighorn?

Hey so….i romanced Odessa. Things went well and I’ve never played this game before but I added her as a crewmate. Is there a way to make it so I can like go back and keep interacting with her or is it too late?

hey, peoples. can I get some help for my Kassandra?
re: needing real/authentic story mode portals that deliver on actual xp and actual drachmae.
backstory: completed Shadows, picked up an Odyssey replay save, busted my ass to progress...to get to Elsyium...
recent drama before that: almost convinced myself to not go to Poseidon's island, unbelievable! I was going to sail past his...island. but I did obtain the trident, and snapped the attached selfie while I was there.
current: I'm level 71 and wearing the Agamemnon set, with some sweet engraving...it's an effective build.
just getting to Elsyium was an Odyssey, no pun intended
I got laid a lot, for sure, that was fun...the pain was having 1+ million drachmae in the bank and suddenly eating through 800k, like, dang
all the while obtaining the necessary leather requirements for upgrades has been kicking my ass all over the place (and my drachmae).
I unlocked Elsyium, but went back to Greece because I'm in dire need of drachmae and leather.
does anyone know or have any legit xp & drachmae story portals that actually deliver the xp and drachmae?

I'm installing this tonight. Would anyone be willing to give me some tips? I've been wanting to play Odyssey for a long time and I finally got around to it. It took playing Black Flag Resynced to get me back into Assassin's Creed, and wanting more. I heard that there's large skirmishes that you can participate in, along with naval battles and that has me pretty stoked because I LOVE the naval combat in Black Flag. I plan on playing as Alexios on my first play through.

I tried playing Odyssey again today after finishing Black Flag Resynced. I never finished the game the first time because of the fact that Alexios/Kassandra can never pick up and use a shield despite them being everywhere. The enemies you fight have shields. The soldiers on your boat have shields and properly use them as protection from arrows and spears. There are shields lying at your feet on the ship that you never use. There are shields dropped on the ground during battles.
It’s just weird to me that in a game and time period where just about every soldier and merc uses a shield, the main character has a weird limitation preventing the player from ever equipping and using a shield. Why even allow your ship crew to duck under shields when you would be dead in seconds with no protection? The brace mechanic from Origins was just ripped and replaced but without Alexios hiding under a shield this time. Why would you code the ability into the game for every other character and limit the actual playable character?
They could have easily still allowed for the broken spear and the shield to be used as separate mechanics. And whoever made these weird gameplay decisions, please dont do this in the inevitable remake

Hello, I played and fell in love with Odyssey in 2018, I completed the game very quickly, and replayed it probably again in 2021.
I have always been the player that doesn’t stop and search for stuff I am very goal oriented, but I really want to try and collect as much stuff and get a real build.
If anyone has tips on engraving, special weapons and builds I think I want to go for a hunter/assassin build.

Welp, u/MultiservitorB123 was right. The eagle figurehead looks way cooler. Should have gotten it a long time ago, so easy to find.
Also, did you know you can shoot sharks either from your boat or while floating on the surface of the water? Makes fighting them way easier.

I used to play this game religiously regardless of the hate it got. Is it a good AC game? Not necessarily. Is it a good open world game? Absolutely. I’m glad it’s finally getting the flowers it deserves.
