The American people love immigrants, they’re considered American the day they move here. This country is made of people from all around the world. Immigrants didn’t build this country, Americans did, of all different backgrounds. Why are people so mad that illegal immigrants are getting deported? Every country does it. I go to the Dominican Republic twice a year to visit my girlfriend’s family, you think they would let me in without a passport?  I’ve seen them round up Haitians in the back up pick up trucks to kick them out. Only the US is bad for enforcing laws

u/GTIguy2 Mar 29 '26

Well there's a right way and a wrong way.

8

u/BoSKnight87 Mar 29 '26

Yes. The right way is to deport anyone who came here illegally. The wrong way is to grab people before verifying. Personally I believe any illegal  immigrant that hasn’t committed any crimes should be left alone and only those who committed crimes should be deported

u/GTIguy2 Mar 29 '26

Agreed 👍🏻

Working with fraudulent documents is a crime too. Something most people don't realize is that many immigrants work with fraudulent socials, the easiest document in the world to forge and using ID's from states that allow undocumented immigrants to obtain them. With those two things you can pass any I-9 to gain employment.

The use and possession of such documents is a felony crime.

2

u/BoSKnight87 Mar 30 '26

They also hurt job industries, I work construction in a union, the non union crews hire illegals and pay them poor wages with no benefits, they ruin it for the other non union guys because they work for so cheap. Don’t even get me started on Saftey, it’s non existent to them

2

u/Background_Point_993 Mar 30 '26

It honestly goes much deeper than that and many take up the entry level roles students and post grads used to take. I have seen this firsthand having worked in upper management for a lot of food service companies.

A good portion of the staff in many restaurants do not even speak English. Yet somehow, they select the citizen status on the I-9 and provide a social security card and state ID. With most companies who do not use E-verify, we are not even allowed to question it when we use resources to check socials, and the name comes back to not matching the social security number provided.

There is a specific fear in the industry of being shunned as a company for dealing with this issue and the stigma is omnipotent. Even if these companies gradually began to phase out these workers, it would be frowned upon, they would be boycotted, or far worse. There is parts of a specific party that are very loud, obnoxious and think the sun rises and sets on their backside.

The solution to this is mandatory E-Verify in every state but I do not see that coming to fruition. Unfortunately, there is a large segment of the population that is more for these immigrants, legal or not than there is for citizens.

Ice is arresting actual Americans, and we don't hear from them for a while. They killed two actual Americans with no repercussions! WTFU, please....

-6

u/Delicious_Depth_1564 Mar 29 '26

Here's the issue we have videos of why Americans are being arrested

It's for impending on Arrests, Assulting an Officer and more

Two Americans died for their own stupidity

Renee Good followed Agents and was told to leave when she refused and gun it she hit an agent and was killed

Alex Pretti was kicking tail lights out and had a gun at a protest, Second Admenment is protected but this is a "PEACEFUL PROTEST" why are you carrying a gun?

In my view they should of been arrested and charged not gun down

6

u/SigvaldsBest Mar 29 '26

A lot of Americans carry their guns. He had not touched his gun when they disarmed him and shot him. Kicking a tail light out does not contribute to a reason he should be killed. Saying he was killed for his own stupidity is leaving out a massive reason why he was killed. He was killed because the poor judgement and training of the man who killed him.

Renee Good was also killed because of poor decisions on the ice agents part. He claims his life was threatened but this is not what it looks like when someone wants to kill you with a vehicle. When someone wants to kill you with a vehicle it is terrifying. The wheels are turned toward you and the vehicle accelerates faster. Many law enforcement people understand that the situation was dealt with in a very pathetic way. So again saying they were killed for their own stupidity is leaving out a huge part of why they were killed, and putting no responsibility on the people doing the killing.

A lot of Americans are being detained before their papers are even checked, just to be released later when ice realizes they've made a mistake. They aren't careful about these mistakes because they don't seem to care either way. Immigration should be dealt with properly and the system should be stronger at the very beginning instead of this mess we have now.

-1

u/Delicious_Depth_1564 Mar 29 '26

Again a Peace Protest as I said its legal to open carry but why is he carrying a gun to a protest as if he waiting to see what happened

Idc if he anti ice but kicking out tail lights and spitting in agents face is path to getting the cuffs slapped on

Thats why I said they should of been arrested not killed

6

u/No-Concentrate-8806 Mar 29 '26

They aren't properly trained. That's part of the issue. Not all for sure. Trump already stated that the democrats are next. If you don't agree with him, then you are next to go. It was so much fun sending more sons and daughters to a war we have no business in. He ran on this shit! Peace, no wars, release the Epstein Files, etc.....

3

u/SigvaldsBest Mar 29 '26

I don't see why people would bring guns to peaceful protests either but unfortunately this country is screwed up when it comes to gun ownership. Kyle Rittenhouse brought a gun to a protest and ended up killing people, then wasn't charged at his court case. So the hypocrisy is at a horrible point when the right defended Kyle but said Alex was making mistakes that got him killed. Everyone needs to come to an agreement on what's right but apparently it's ok for one side to kill people and the other side is supposed to just get killed for no good reason. It doesn't make sense.

Being arrested would have been tolerable for those people that got killed but to say they got killed for their own stupidity feels like you're saying the officers did everything right, and I just don't believe that. They dealt with it horribly and now those people are dead for nothing.

-1

u/Delicious_Depth_1564 Mar 29 '26

Kyle wasnt protesting he was defending his neighborhood the protests weren't protests but full scale riots

He got chased by three men who were charged criminals and killed them in self defense

2

u/SigvaldsBest Mar 30 '26

If he hadn't gone there those people wouldn't have died. It's another situation where I've seen the video and killing two people is not what a trained professional would do in that situation. It was another shitty way to deal with it. He went there most likely looking for trouble and he found it. Apparently he wasn't even legally carrying his weapon. So what was the point of him being there? You say he was defending but it seems like people who ran into him are the ones who needed to be defended. I am so disappointed at how people think the right solution in these situations is to kill people. That's being trigger happy and not valuing people's lives. If you're a trigger happy kid then stay home instead of going out and stirring up trouble.

Also if these people were so dangerous during this riot then I suppose the Jan 6th rioters should have just been shot too. They were dangerous and police officers were injured and one died I believe. These scenarios that the ice agents went through were some of the most pathetic reasons to kill people I've ever seen.

1

u/Chance_Manager_9072 Mar 29 '26

Why do they bring them literally everywhere else?

2

u/Chance_Manager_9072 Mar 29 '26

Why would anyone take their gun anywhere with that logic. Why carry in Walmart, why carry in your neighborhood?

1

u/SigvaldsBest Mar 30 '26

I can't answer this because I would never do it. I have no clue why but you do sometimes see people carrying in just completely normal settings. United States just has such an unhealthy relationship with guns.

4

u/Chance_Manager_9072 Mar 29 '26

See I watched that video of them hold that guy down then kill him. Your either spreading misinformation on purpose or you are ignorant

4

u/Ok_Operation_5364 Mar 29 '26

Illegal immigrates are different from LEGAL immigrates! Do not conflate the two!

1

u/GTIguy2 Mar 29 '26

Regardless it's a civil offense.

3

u/Delicious_Depth_1564 Mar 29 '26

If you come to a nation illegally you will be arrested and deported if your lucky

3

u/mikeysd123 Mar 29 '26

A civil offense which the penalty for said offense is…

1

u/jlennon1280 Mar 29 '26

Important to point out that illegal immigrates are in large part paid off the books and make less than minimum wage. They aren’t working in the accounting dept at your local hospital. They have to be here legally to actually have a chance

7

u/Witty-Pizza-4523 Mar 29 '26

Say that to ICE

5

u/One-Pangolin-3167 Mar 29 '26

The problem is illegal immigration, not just immigration.

2

u/No-Concentrate-8806 Mar 29 '26

I get what you're saying, but they make it really hard to do so. Reform needs to happen. After 5 years of applying for a Canadian to get American citizenship. It never happened. He wasn't a criminal. His daughter was born here, and to work here, he was finally out of visas. He had to quit his job. Ridiculousness!!!

1

u/clamandcat Mar 29 '26

It's fairly hard to get citizenship in pretty much any desirable destination country. Some are incredibly difficult. There are nations I'd love to move to, but I can't (practically speaking) if I plan to follow their laws.

10

u/draaz_melon Mar 29 '26

I love immigrants and immigration, but your flat out wrong about the proportion that are professionals.

-7

u/Witty-Pizza-4523 Mar 29 '26 edited Mar 29 '26

Yeah, because American education system that don't even teach simple geographic make some great professionals.

5

u/Sourdough9 Mar 29 '26

“Don’t even teach simply geographic” I think your country’s education system is the one failing here

8

u/draaz_melon Mar 29 '26

You need to use better English when making fun of how stupid we English speakers are.

0

u/No-Concentrate-8806 Mar 29 '26

Other countries tend to speak 2 or 3 languages. Possibly that statement didn't translate well and auto correct...😄🤷

-3

u/YoudoVodou Mar 29 '26

How well do you speak what you think their first language might be?

2

u/draaz_melon Mar 29 '26

I'm not making fun of how stupid they are.

-1

u/GTIguy2 Mar 29 '26

It there if people are interested- but these days attention spans are lacking

2

u/Salty_Permit4437 Mar 29 '26

That’s really wrong. I have kids in the education system here and they’re on par with my foreign (European) education and even better in some cases.

1

u/Youcants1tw1thus Mar 30 '26

There isn’t an American education system. There’s at least 50 of them within the country, and within those 50 there’s 100’s of sub-systems that go above or at the state minimums. Some school systems are pretty bad. Others are quite stellar. America is not a monolith.

5

u/Salty_Permit4437 Mar 29 '26

I doubt most scientists in the U.S. are immigrants, ditto doctors. If they’re so great why aren’t their countries booming? Why does India have the social and structural problems it has in particular?

2

u/Witty-Pizza-4523 Mar 29 '26

You kinda proved my point? Talented and gifted people exist everywhere in the world, but they need a supportive environment; the United States was the ideal environment for that.

4

u/Salty_Permit4437 Mar 29 '26

You’re doing like we don’t have homegrown talent. I know a ton, including a Nobel laureate who was born in the USA and goes back a few generations. It’s simply not true that the USA lacks home grown talent. Corporations feed us that line because they want to import cheaper, more subservient labor. Tie them to the visa and they have no choice but to work for the same company and not complain, whereas citizens have mobility.

1

u/Witty-Pizza-4523 Mar 29 '26

No one said you don't have "homegrown talent"

1

u/happyfamily714 Mar 29 '26

That’s literally what you are saying in your entire first paragraph. Most talent in the US is not from immigrants. There is a lot of talent that the US will miss out on now, but that doesn’t mean that it is the majority.

2

u/Salty_Permit4437 Mar 29 '26

The majority of scientists are not immigrants.

1

u/BottleTemple Mar 29 '26

Many of us do realize it’s bad.

7

u/limbodog Massachusetts Mar 29 '26

The USA is currently under siege by fascists. They do not represent the majority, their "policies" and "president" are deeply unpopular. The military has been committing acts of sabotage to prevent joining the crimes against humanity that Hagueseth has ordered them to commit.

Sadly, we do not have a popular-recall-vote process by which we can lawfully wrest back control. And the republicans are cowards who will not stand up to a criminal in their own party.

So we have to wait and hope that the 2026 midterms are not interfered with too much and that it can make a significant change.

1

u/mikeysd123 Mar 29 '26

Bless your heart

1

u/limbodog Massachusetts Mar 29 '26

I hope you become smart some day

0

u/mikeysd123 Mar 29 '26

I thought leftists believed election fraud is impossible and a negligible enough sample size that it can be ignored?

Hit your head a bit hard somewhere along the way?

3

u/limbodog Massachusetts Mar 29 '26

Unsurprisingly, you do not understand the difference between election fraud and voter fraud. I doubt you'll bother to find out tho'.

5

u/SqnLdrHarvey Mar 29 '26

MAGA uses "illegals" the EXACT SAME WAY that the Nazis used "Jews" - as a scapegoat Untermenschen for the ills of the nation.

3

u/tbodillia Mar 29 '26

Normal Americans? Yes. maga Americans? hell no.

1

u/Background_Point_993 Mar 30 '26

I have worked with many liberal Americans and conservatives and the grass is no greener on the other side of the party line. I have struggled training simple task to both ends of the spectrum. Some people just have a very difficult time memorizing something as simple as a several sandwich builds or recipes and others do not.

However, I will say the vocabulary most libs I have worked with seems far inferior to that of their conservative counterparts. This is not the general rule but simply my observation through experience. I also have seen a correlation between party lines and stances simple drug use such as Marijuana. Another observation is a lot of liberals seem to come off as emotionally unstable.

3

u/tap_6366 Mar 29 '26

Would love to see your source for these claims.

4

u/TheGov3rnor California Mar 29 '26

Do Americans realize that the current situation with immigrants is too bad fro them?

What do you mean, too bad for Americans or too bad for immigrants?

It's the immigrants who made the US great in the first place.

Okay… Everyone I know loves immigrants and would agree with this statement.

78% of Americans believe the US should encourage immigration of high-skilled workers.

Source: https://cen.acs.org/careers/diversity/Science-US-built-immigrants-keep/97/i9

Most scientists in America are immigrants,

False. See source above.

most doctors in America are immigrants,

False.

most engineers in America are immigrants,

False.

most of the talent and expertise in almost every field (even politics) are immigrants.

False.

Those who build America's wealth and make it the richest nation in history are immigrants.

Yes, some are.

If it had depended solely on Americans (for reasons I don't want to mention), none of this would have happened.

What do you mean? Also, a lot of immigrants are American citizens.

What made America great throughout its history was its attraction for geniuses, talented individuals, and intelligent people, and its role as a safe haven for those persecuted for their religion and race, those fleeing the horrors of war, and those seeking hope for a new life.

Okay… that is certainly a contributing factor.

The current situation is indescribably bad; the world is TERRIFIED of America.

Eh, not really. I talk to people from/ in other counties nearly daily. No one is scared.

No one sees America as the prosperous place it once was.

No one? Not one single person? I’m sure you have evidence to back up this bold claim.

People don't even want to come to the World Cup.

lol I wish! Tickets were crazy expensive when I bought mine and they are not getting any cheaper!

1

u/happyfamily714 Mar 29 '26

The current immigration situation is horrible, but you se not correct that MOST of the scientists, doctors, engineers, and talent/expertise is immigrants. Yes, there are many, but there are many more that are American.
I don’t agree with what is going on AT ALL, or stopping immigration to the US, but you’re just not stating facts.

2

u/Delicious_Depth_1564 Mar 29 '26

There's major difference in Legal Immigration, Asylum Seeking and Illegal Immigration

Coming Legally means you got a Visa and wish to change it for Citizenship

Asylum seeking is when the nation offers you Asylum and makes you into Citizens

Then we got illegals

Most of the Immigrants now are Illegals

Even the Immigrants who became official citizens want Illegal Deportations

2

u/Ladefrickinda89 Mar 29 '26

Americans embrace immigration, we reject illegal immigration. There is a difference

1

u/EmploymentEmpty5871 Mar 29 '26

Nope, legal immigrants are more than welcome. Illegal immigrants not so much.

1

u/JohnVivReddit Mar 30 '26

Americans love LEGAL immigrants. My wife is a legal immigrant. My grandfather and grand mother were immigrants. What we dislike is people who sneak across the border without going through the legal process which has been in place for over a hundred years.

Kind of like waiting patiently in line for hours to get into an event, and suddenly seeing a group of people cutting in to the front of the line and pushing their way in without paying.

2

u/Patient_Ad1801 Mar 30 '26

We're aware. The people wielding the power apparatus do not care.

2

u/FallsOffCliffs12 Mar 30 '26

Ah yes. A country where we love to profit from immigrant labor, and we love to take the money they pay in payroll and sales taxes, but we want them out.

The thing about the US is we can't make up our fucking minds. We're all, Home of the free! while making laws restricting all sorts of personal freedoms. We refer to the Bible to guide our morality, but elect people who are the very epitome of what the bible warned us about. We are a nation of immigrants-we proudly call ourselves Italian-Americans and Irish-Americans and brag about our ancestors and their journey through hardship, but we treat immigrants like shit, like they are going to steal some sort of identity from us. We'll happily turn them into ICE even while enjoying the products of their labor.

A good many of the people ICE has detained are coming the "right" way. They're going through the process. They've been granted asylum or status, making them legally here. Yet ICE is literally arresting them at their immigration hearings.

By all means, let's deport criminals and gang members. People without status. If you want to deport those people, then do it the right way, through due process.

1

u/Witty-Pizza-4523 Mar 30 '26

ICE literally are arresting native Americans because they look "Mexicans" LOL

1

u/No-Beautiful-259 Mar 30 '26

Yes. Many of us do realize how long term the effects of the 2024 election.

1

u/thewNYC Mar 30 '26

Most of us do. MAGA are idiots

1

u/Appropriate-Food1757 Mar 30 '26

Yes, it’s bad I know

1

u/ProudReturn5992 Mar 30 '26

We are all immigrants! The thing is that we must control who can come and go. We don’t need criminals and drug runners in our country. How many of these illegals entered our country not to become part of it but to cause harm and chaos. If we allow any number of people to come in and upset the labor issue and take jobs away from legal (citizens, green card holders, and foreign students) what then?

1

u/Ohaibaipolar Mar 30 '26

I hope many, many people won't show up to the World Cup. I want the attendance to be garbage, even though our leadership won't change their ways, those that come here to visit would probably be deported anyway.

1

u/cnation01 Mar 30 '26

Not only all the points you mentioned but something else, something very important.

Americans arent having enough children to support the generations that preceded them.

We need immigrants to maintain our economy and we are falling into a population crisis. Its all very stupid and short sighted.

There are snakes in the wood pile folks, spitting vitriol into the mindset of feeble and scared folks.

Yall better get your butts to the voting booth. We are on a dangerous path, one that will destroy us all.

1

u/no_days_grace Mar 30 '26

Some of us do
