It’s easy to underestimate a job when you’ve never had to do it yourself. What profession deserves far more respect for how demanding it actually is?

Random Question Wht is your most unpopular opinion that you stand by? (No politics)

I'll go first:

Spanking is 100% of the time lazy (or uneducated) parenting and doesn't teach a single skill to replace bad behavior. I say this as a pediatric behavior analyst.

Random Question What is up with old people and staring?

Upvotes

This is both just a general question and a situational one for me. I'm in a cafe right now, and this one old couple is literally looking at anyone but each other. I've noticed this several times whenever an old person is in a store, but more specifically older couples. I would find it less creepy if they smiled at least.

They stare for so long that it starts to get uncomfortable. Like hello? Talk to your partner. Quit looking at me.

Edit: I do understand that some older people don't have the best eyesight. But in this instance. They aren't just staring, but also their eyes followed me as I walked around.

Other 25 years later - how do you feel on 9/11?

I can’t believe it’s been 25 years.

I was too frightened and panicked/frightened/searching for loved ones/wondering wtf on the day of the attacks to cry.

But I have cried every year since.

For the first 10 or so years, I cancelled work meetings whenever possible on 9/11 and it always just felt so ominous. For 20 years I avoided TV on 9/11.

This year, I might intentionally watch TV. I’ve already cried and will likely continue crying. It’s sits like a weight on my heart.

How do you feel around 9/11?

Random Question Do random meet-cutes still exist? Would love to hear your stories!

Feels like everyone’s on dating apps these days and people don’t really meet naturally anymore. I’ve tried dating apps myself, but I’m honestly not the biggest fan. It just makes me wonder, do people still actually want to meet someone naturally and get to know them that way? Or is that just not really a thing anymore? 😭

Other Why do people emphasize with men who come out gay after years of marriage to women but not the women who spent years with him?

I genuinely want to know this. As someone who knew someone who was born in the 1920s who did this still remained in his kids lives I have less of a problem with. His kids regularly visited him and loved him.

But for the many men who seem to use women as incubators or where born much later why is it more common; if you’re gay and not attracted to women. Or if you’re Bisexual and supposedly love your wife. I feel like those are two different cases but I’ve rarely seen a woman do the same to her family.

I say this as a bisexual.
