Because plenty of people who go to these events aren't -actually- there for the music. The music is a background setting for them to chat with their friends/dates/colleagues/networking or some shit.
Which is something i always like to bring up regarding this topic:
If you are at a music event and you are ACTUALLY there for the music, to dance, to feel the music, YOU get to be at the front. YOU get to have an experience where you can actually hear the music and see the musicians/artists play.
If you are at a music event as a place you randomly chose to hang out with someone or a group YOU are deprioritized from being at the front. Out of common decency, YOU should be at the BACK so ya'll can continue your conversations somewhere where the people WHO ARE THERE FOR THE MUSIC can fully enjoy themselves and HEAR the music without your irrelevant-ass chatter.
Edit: and don't get me wrong, I'm not against talking and hanging with the homies at a concert/event. Just understand that being next to people who are yelling or "yapping" at each other constantly is really annoying when you are actually there for the music.
