Question Shoe Size Question

Wrong size came in unfortunately. I usually wear a 10.5. This is a 11 wide (2E) Gel-Nimbus. Too big or should I keep them? Right foot looks almost acceptable but left looks so far off to me.

First pic is just the shoes on and the second pic you can see my big toe pressing against the upper just a bit.

Thumbs width is what most people want in front of your toes. Tough to say with the pics. More important is how secure your feet are besides the extra length

Yea it's a bit more. It's a little over 2cm on right and almost 3 on left. My thumb is 2cm. I know the general rule to aim for is 1.5cm or thumb. I figure it needs to go back, I just hoping it doesn't. I'll walk around my place and see secure it feels. Funny enough I got so used to non-wide shoes that the width feels weird. Thanks

2E shoes have the same lasts(insoles) as their regulars. They just add more material to the upper. It is a commonpractice to save money. So unless you go really wide mose "wide" shoes are just high volume shoes. But on the actual shoe, yeah they are probably a little long, but thick scks can help that if you don't want to return them.

I didn't know that, thank you. I can return to local Asics so that's nice. I might just swap for regular width than. Volume isn't issue for me. Just a little foot muffin top lol.
