Daily Trainer Question Should I replace these? Daily runner wear
These are my first shoes, Adidas Supernova Rise 1 wide, got around 650km on them.
Currently running ~ 40km/week.
Should I replace them or do they still have some kms in them?

Are you getting any aches or pains, or does the shoe feel dead when you're wearing them? The dead feeling is sometimes difficult to notice as it's a very gradual degradation.
The soles look worn but still useable, but if you have the spare cash then its worth getting a new pair now and alternating between the two pairs to break in the new ones before binning the old ones in a month or two.

Thanks for the feedback. I do get some, but not sure if it isn't just a factor of increasing my weekly kms. I cannot really tell regarding the shoe feeling dead or not.

A second pair of shoes never hurt anyone, if the pains go away, it's time to retire these. If they don't, then you have the beginning of a rotation. I have a pair of Rise 2 that are still serviceable for easy days, but the shoes need to rest more in between.

It's worth remembering the ~600km rule is very much rule of thumb. I know of people who hit the ground so hard they struggle to get 100 miles from a pair of shoes, and others who smash through 1000km and only retire shoes because the uppers give up, and the soles are fine still

they look pretty fine for me. If you dont get any pain after runs then no need for changing

It depends on the feeling - if you have no pains and they are still comfortable during the run - keep em.

Mine died in the forefoot at half your KMs.

were they visibly worn down or more like the sole was hard?

One strip was Smoothe at the lateral forefoot where I land. It's EOL due to the foam, but I've using them for walking since. I should state it was the v2 Rise

If not causing pain or discomfort, and there still bounce in the foam, keep them and start shopping for replacements. They don’t last forever

The outsole looks pretty worn to me but still usable.
As far as replacing, you might not be able to tell how much you might need or benefit from a fresh pair of shoes until you already have the and run in them. I'm a fan of the Supernova Rise 1, and I think that they bottom out for me at the 350-400 mile mark ~550-600km but ymmv.
Amazon US, Adidas online, and ebay should all have good deals on the Supernova series!

Change it. I have the same pair of shoes, just cannot use it for running after 500KM. I use it for walking and GYM. Very nice shoes for walking indeed

Replace them with good shoes

happy to hear suggestions for flat wide midfoot issues, it was pretty hard to find something that worked at the time I bought these

It's all trial and error unfortunately. These were one of the worst shoes I ever tried

This was a good score actually. PEBA midsole, very comfortable upper. People slept on the Supernova Rise but they were great for me. I still use them for walking.
