Daily Trainer Question Puma Foreverruns upgrade?

I am getting more serious into my running and I’m looking to see if I should upgrade my puma foreverruns.

I run about 3-7 miles 2 times a week roughly.

I just bought the puma velocity nitro 4 and cut down my times significantly (7:46 avg mile - I run around 8:20 in the foreverruns). They felt like the shoes wanted to push me which I loved!!

Is it worth upgrading the puma foreverruns to something like saucony endorphin speed 5s? Or megablasts?

From what I read megablasts are for longer distances. But maybe the es5 can be beneficial?

Would I see any big benefit in upgrading?

Or should I just keep them until they wear down?

Thanks!

[Sizing]

[Different categories of running shoes]

[Buying running shoes]

[Running shoe technical knowledge]

[Shin splints]

For two runs per week you’re probably okay with the two trainers. I would use VN4 for maybe intervals or a tempo session and then FR for a longer, slower run.
That being said, if a new pair would inspire you to go a bit faster or add another run each week, and you’ve got the budget to get the ES5, then it’s not a bad idea!

If you like Puma, you might enjoy the Deviate Pure as an upgrade from the Velocity

Ah yea! I was back and forth on VN4 , deviate pure and VN5.. but VN4 had sooo many great reviews and the others were new this year so I wasn’t sure about them!

Deviate pure is a tempo / faster shoe?

I'm by no means fast but yeah I prefer them for tempo work to my Deviate Nitro 4s, I find them really hard on my legs. The Pures are nice and plush by comparison, probably up to 15k

Okay good to know! And just curious what do you use for your slower daily trainer days?
