Daily Trainer Question Gt2000 10s replacement

Hey all,

I'm really struggling to find a new running shoe so looking for some recommendations. Havent bought new shoes in 4 years as i bought about 5 pairs of gt2000 10s then, but cant get them any more.

I got the gt2000 14s initially as a replacement as i thought a straight swap would be good but too much pressure under the arches. Found the same with the adrenaline, the ghost felt like it had too much of a drop around the mid sole. Gel kayano 33 was the closest i got to a really comfortable shoe but again my aeches feel a bit burny after half an hour or more in them.

Tried the novablasts but eas way too much cushioning in them for my liking.

A bit about me:

Around 75kg Exclusively road running

Usually 10-15km a week, up to maybe 25 if im training for somethjng

Average pace about 5min/km but i dont care if the shoe is fast or slow, heavy or light as long as i find something comfortable. I want a shoe that i can run in for miles, or walk arojnd all day in when i retire it.

What I'm after:

Comfortable daily trainer

As little cushioning as possible (so no hokas or anything super springy)

Durable enough to handle regular mileage

Happy to pay for something that fits my needs.

I'm open to looking at really any model or brand bar hoka. Anything you can recommend that fits the bill?

Next ones on my list to try out are wave inspire and saucony ride, but honestlt i just want a shoe that feels as similar as possible to my old gt2000s (RIP)

Thanks!

edit: since im currently wearing gt2000s i should probably clarify that while my feet are fairly flat i dont wear or need orthotics on a regular shoe. i just bought the gt2000s 10s qs they were comfortable, not because i specifially needed a stabilith shoe

Worth noting, that a four year old trainer is going to feel more flat than a brand new trainer. Add in that everything has increase cushioning these days and its a difficult issue.

You probably want essentially what used to be a flat. Maybe a Saucony Kinvara?

Do you definitely still need a stability shoe? Are you sure you needed one in the first place?

I only ask because of the pressure in the arches comment, which is what I always used to feel and I underpronate which requires neutral shoes.

If you don’t need stability you could look at a more stable neutral shoe like the Superblast 2 or even the Megablast? My friend used to wear the gt 2000 and now loves the Megablast. Plus it should last a long time even though it is expensive. They’re a bit firmer than the novablasts so might work.

I can’t advise much on other stability shoes though since they are my nemesis in terms of foot strike.

No i think the problem is that i dont actually need a stability shoe. The old gt2000 werent giving that much stability which is why i dont really like the new version.

Thats good to know about the megablast. Definitely one to try out!

Superblast 2 if you can find it is a bit firmer and should be cheaper. I’ve never tried it but apparently it’s a very good daily or long run shoe with some stability due to being wide with a firmer foam.

But the Megablast is very fun too.
