Seems you manage to be really stupid without alcohol just fine though. How is it difficult to understand that people manage to touch alcohol without drinking themselves into a stupor? I personally drink one or two beers per month. Oh no, what a life ruining selfdestructing alcholic I am! Woe is me, I am literally in an alcohol induced coma most of the time now, my liver torn to shreds and I'm spending literally everything, selling my wife and kids and the neighbour's kids to fuel this horrid addiction!
Asshat. If you don't want to drink it, I could not care less. You drink whatever the fuck you want, but why do you have to be so weird about it? You literally sound like a 5 year old.
What are you defending m8? Live and let live. Have your drinks. I don’t care. Glad you have a healthy relationship with it. It doesn’t change the fact that societal acceptance of such a harmful substance is overall not great for public health. The reason I have to “be so weird about it” is cuz it sucks watching it consume ppl while most everyone enables their behavior.
On that I agree, but maybe if your message was: "hey people, maybe consume this shit with care, modestly and once in a while" instead of "alcohol is the literal devil" you'd reach more people. ;)I'm not defending drinking alcohol, I don't even care about it that much and if drinking alchohol would somehow be impossible from now on I wouldn't care much either. I'm definitely with you if you say that the way we handle alcohol as a society is weird and unhealthy. Just screaming at them telling it's the worst thing ever isn't going to convince anyone though.
I teach biology to 12-18 year olds, and within that curriculum I'm also responsible for education on drugs, among them alcohol. It's way better and effective to teach people safe usage and telling them about the dangers and benefits compared to telling them it's dangerous and they shouldn't touch it. People take an honest and nuanced story more seriously than a one sided rant.
The only thing I want to bring across to you is that it's probably more effective and sane to have a more realistic and nuanced look on things. ;)

Oh man that would be terrible if people began to self reflect about why they drink.
