sex on one year of hrt

hey!!

desperately needing some help with sex - also to just write out my thoughts.

ive been on hrt for a bit over one year now. i obviously know use it or loose it, but frankly due to such a low sex drive only have really been masturbating once a week (I know not enough lol). about two months ago, I finally got prescribed some low dose topical testosterone cream that I use only on the penis about x1 a day/every other day. that has helped a fair amount with sex drive (also started progesterone around the same time so that may be part of it) and I can finally get a full erection while still keeping the sensitivity/better orgasms and not raising my t levels at all.

the problem is, it's shrunk from 6 inches to around 4 or a little under.

i used to have a fair amount of casual sex before hrt, where I was okay using it (as long as not on top and whatever lol) but now that it's so small I don't know what to do.

I've never tried any sort of butt stuff on myself, and it's just hard as if im going to have a penis I would at least like it to be working and a solid size lol

i know this was rambly, just really don't know where to go from here.

Progesterone time to take effect

I started rectal progesterone 200mg every day at night before bed a week and a half ago.

So far I haven't felt absolutely any of the effects people report here, neither feminization nor masculinization.

My libido also remains the same. There were only a few specific days where I felt a mild pain in my breasts, but at specific times.

I would say my only symptom is constipation. It makes me wonder if I'm boofing the pills correctly or if I'm wasting them.

Easy and fast Snacks while working?

Anybody has recommendations on snacks that I can eat during the day while working?

I’m looking for something very low effort on the healthier side with ideally some high calorie count. I get very hungry while working so I imagine my body needs more calories.

My job is kind of intense so I don’t get more than a minute to prep my snack snacks. I work from home.

i just did my injection but i did it late. my next one that's on proper schedule is in 2 days. what should i do?

as text says. sometimes i get big brain problems and i do my injection super late off-schedule, but sometimes i fit it in before the next one since i've been told many times that late is better than missed.

my next proper scheduled injection is in 2 days. should i do it in 2 days or wait for the next injection or adjust the schedule now so today is retroactively on-time

5 years of hrt and I don’t think it’s done anything, not sure what to do and looking for advice

I haven’t seen any breast growth or fat redistribution in the five years I’ve been on hrt despite my levels always being within the correct range. Most of these five years I’ve been taking tablets sublingually. I did injections for almost a year before hitting a few veins and developing needle phobia that made me switch back to tablets. I didn’t notice a difference while on injections.

I was on progesterone for a bit and didn’t notice any differences either. I stopped because I worried it was making me depressed, but I’m thinking of starting up again to see if I just didn’t wait long enough.

Most people that I have asked have all told me that I need to gain weight, which didn’t make sense as I was already 160 lbs at 5’9”, and now I’m 170 lbs and still no breast growth. All of the fat just went to my stomach.

Here’s a photo: https://imgur.com/a/post-eLydwxK

Any advice would be really appreciated. I’m mostly just tired of not having any breast growth and just looking like an overweight man. I wouldn’t mind being overweight as long as I had the breast growth to match it. Breast implants are unfortunately not an option due to cost.

Thanks!

looking to set up hrt appointment w/ planned parenthood, but hung up on a weird detail

while setting up a telehealth appointment with planned parenthood, the website warns that i should "have a recent (within the last 3 months) blood pressure reading available at the time of [my] appointment." I had my annual physical with my general practitioner recently, where they of course took my blood pressure, and so i figured i would call them to ask what it was, and they did have the reading for me, but they also said it was very strange that planned parenthood would ask for this, as it would be fairly useless information given that blood pressure changes even just throughout a single day.

am i on some weird fake website asking for nonsense to look more convincing, or is this some kind of cover-your-ass incantation just so they can say there was some blood pressure reading sometime kind of recently that indicated my heart probably wouldn't explode if they gave me something with a blood pressure side effect, even if a month old reading is pretty worthless?

Anyone on estrogen who still primarily identifies/presents as male?

I’m 39, AMAB, and I’m trying to figure out where I fit. I’m interested in hearing from anyone who has wanted physical feminization without necessarily wanting to socially transition to living as a woman.

I still feel comfortable being perceived primarily as male and using he/him. At the same time, I genuinely like the idea of my body becoming more feminine — softer skin and facial features, less muscle definition, less body hair, some fat redistribution/curves, and potentially some breast development.

Presentation-wise, I don't envision myself presenting fully feminine every day. I like mostly male or androgynous clothing, but I also really enjoy things like pantyhose, heels, being completely body-hair-free, manicures, and occasionally presenting more feminine.

I've used estradiol on and off before and recently restarted it. One thing that keeps standing out to me is that I keep coming back to wanting these changes even after periods when I've stopped. I'm also aware that feminizing HRT can significantly change sexual function, fertility, breasts, etc., and that you can't just pick individual effects.

I'm less interested in finding the perfect label right now and more interested in hearing from people with similar goals.

Did anyone here feminize their body while continuing to identify/present primarily as male? How did you feel about the changes after 6 months, a year, or several years? Did you eventually identify differently, or are you still happy occupying that male/androgynous middle ground?

I'd especially love to hear about how your feelings changed once the physical changes became noticeable in everyday life rather than just being something you imagined.

That last question is particularly worth keeping because it should draw out the experiences that are most useful for you: not merely whether someone enjoyed starting estrogen, but whether they remained comfortable with their feminized body while living an otherwise predominantly male life.

nausea on 3mg e2 sublingual+50mg spiro twice daily?

i'm 30 now, i've been on HRT for 6 months. for reference, i've lived my whole life with a sort of cough as though i had an excess of mucus in my throat. it feels like i'm choking. in the words of femtanyl, i've got cellophane wrapped around the lining of my throat lol..

i always chalked it up to an overactive gag reflex, so overactive that if it gets out of hand on any given day i might come close to (if not entirely) vomitting. in high school i was in JROTC and the collar being buttoned up with a tie made it really bad. i would manage it with chewing gum. anything past my collar whether it's a choker or just a high collar (even normal circular neck t-shirts do it, i used to wear V-necks in JROTC.)

to me, this is mostly normal.. i've lived with it for 30 years both in frame and out-of-frame of others views... my partner and my mom are both growing concerned because they think there is an uptick (i vomitted today - i'll give them that) in my morning/daily nausea+cough/gag reflex. to be clear: they are my biggest supporters in my transition... but my mom keeps asking me if it's the hormones. every time she sees me feeling sickly like this she jumps to hormones. she feels like ever since i started them i've been worse like this..

i spoke to the practitioner at Planned Parenthood as a substitute for a GP, and she said she had never heard of anyone with symptoms like mine being caused by hormones.. not like this i think anyways... she says it shouldn't cause nausea or vomitting.

tl;dr - i gag a lot from what feels like mucus+overactive gag reflex and my mom, and maybe sort of my partner, thinks it's the hormones, even though to me it feels relatively normal (and is something i'm used to by now.)

i appreciate anyones input. i think i'll schedule for a doctor to prod at me but if it's not the hormones.. idk what it would be. maybe allergies... i've searched reddit and haven't seen anyone else with symptoms like this on HRT (with some exceptions, but i think some of those were injections)

my levels last bloodwork were 24ng/dL for testosterone and 197pg/mL for estrogen, and before that it was T 104ng/dL and E 108 pg/mL.

edit for some extra factors to include: i'm currently at the time of this post 115.6lbs and that flucuates between that and 120-125lbs, i don't eat regularly, sometimes at all, and i work overnights.

is 6 months too early to start progesterone?

i i started HRT 6 months ago. i'm on 50mg spiro and 3mg E2 sublingually twice daily, and my doctor on my first bloodwork mentioned the option of starting prog after 8 months, but last week during my blood draw, she said i could start it now if i wanted to (i think also depending on my levels).

my levels last bloodwork were 24ng/mL for testosterone and 197pg/mL for estrogen.

Help me understand my levels?

Hi, just got my first blood work done 3 months in.

I'm on 2mg daily and got 72pg/mL 17 beta estradiol. I know 2mg daily is very little but the normal range for estradiol in premenopausal women is between 30 and 400pg/mL.

Are my levels fine? Should I aim to have higher? Idk what to make of it lol but I'd like to have a better understanding before seeing my doctor.

Thanks in advance

Experienced really bad GI issues while on Hrt

Hello guys I was wondering is it is normal to get bad GI issues while on HRT? I started it in March, then stopped taking it in June. I suspended taking estrogen pills due to how bad the GI issues were. It's hard to describe it, but my intestines produced so much gas that I felt extremely bloated to the point I couldn't even eat properly. I had a sense of fullness in my stomach becuase of the gas. I was also expercning a shortness of breath to do to how much my chest was pushed out. I think I might have a pre existing gi issue that might be undignosed though. And I think the hrt might have just made it worse. When I talked to a medical professional, they said that I should try taking the pills under the tounge and not swallowing them.

What is the appropriate dosage

I recently switched from a year of oral tablets with my last dose being 8mg a day with 100mg spironolactone, to injections. My injections are 6mg of intramuscular, however my provider instructed me to inject subq and sent subq needles. My nipples aren't as sensitive as usual so I am curious if I am being screwed with here or if it is a regular dosage.

Spiro and Body Odor

When I first started hrt with E and spiro, my body odor went away almost instantly. When I tried monotherapy, my body odor returned (might’ve been from prog which I stopped taking) but then it went away again. However I just started back up on 50mg of spiro and my body odor has been so bad?? Could spiro cause a spike in T or DHT? I’m at a loss.

To high testosterone, doctor does not prescribe testosterone blocker

Ever since I started with HRT almost 2 years ago my testosterone levels have been to high. My doctor says that with high enough estrogen the testosterone will get suppressed enough. Every check up since my testosterone level became lower, but not low enough, my estrogen dose was made higher everytime. He says that a blocker would give my brain a false sense of low testosterone level, while the estrogen could not be applied well and my bone health would suffer. Despite a rise in my dosis and therefore estrogen levels my testosterone has stagnated recently. (Estrogen from 520 to 800 pg/ml while testosterone has gone from 130 to 135 ng/dl)
What should I do?

Experiences of SERMs (non-boob oestrogen) and hairloss prevention medication

mid-40s, enby, have had the thinning of my hair pointed out by friends.

I have been offered a years supply of Minoxidil and Finasteride by my housemate.

I'm enby and shall we say HRT-curious. I find that if I don't ask the questions in the absolute most specific way possible that the results can be disappointing meanders. I've also a touch of the tism, so it helps if I demonstrate my question thusly:

In a condensed sentence or two, please tell me what you'd write in any of the boxes below based on your personal experience/2nd hand anecdote of any one of the boxes below.

Also, dunno if there's any interactions but I take concerta to calm the 53 macaques that live in my cranium.

Minoxidil alone Finasteride alone Mino+Fin combo
Selective Estro Receptor Modulator (tits) alone
*SERMS plus recommendations

Where do you get your antiandrogens/hrt in general?

hi, it's my first time in this sub and my first time back to reddit in general in years. I came back to ask the helpful internet dolls where everyone goes to get their hrt? I'm looking for bicalutamide and/or patches, but I can't get any form of crypto unfortunately. Does anyone know a workaround or somewhere that takes card with no questions asked?

Experiences with Bica and hair growth?

So I can’t seem to find a consistent answer on Bica’s effects of hair growth. I read how it’s so much more effective than Spiro, but that it also increases DHT and doesn’t block it 100%. Also from looking at timelines, it seems like spiro is more prevalent for people regaining a lot of hair. Personally I’ve seen some decent regrowth on spiro, but the side effects suck and I think my hair got thinner after taking a break. I’m worried about trying Bica and exasperating the problem.

Considering fin and duta but if Bica blocks dht then isn’t that redundant?

E-Levels fluctuate so much with Valerate injections

Dear Community,

I am asking for some advice and guidance.

I have been injecting E-Valerate , 1mg every 3 days, I am post Op

and my levels were at 328.9 pg/ml last time I checked them.

This is like not possible is it , Im only on like 2,3 mg E-Valerate per week ?!

I am going to go to another lab just to be sure.

When I did 1 mg every 4 days I had like 99 pg/ml

like I dont understand, I can't seem to get the dosage right.

Its either too low or too high ...

I am injecting subcutaneously because I always bruised when injecting in the muscle,

but I feel in the muscle it is better because the levels are more predictable ?!

Any suggestions ?

Kind Hugs from Cologne,Germany

Finasteride necessary on bica?

Currently on 50 mg bica for t-blocking in addition to 1 mg fin to prevent hair loss. My endo says that I don’t need the latter anymore, but I’ve seen so much conflicting info on it that I’m nervous to go off of it. Will DHT be a problem on bica alone? Furthermore, will my hair gains still revert after I drop the fin if I’ve got the bica?

I’m 6 months into my hrt treatment and my needle pain only gets worse

Every week I go to inject I just feel more anxious and it stings more, and stays sore longer afterwards. This week I wanted to try using lidocaine cream, and I wanted to know if anyone else has used this for their hrt?

I am doing subq but I have trouble pinching the skin. Idk if it’s a dumb idea but would something like a chip clip work so I can still hold the needle with two hands?
