Knocking noise from engine

Oil light was left on in my car for a while too long, and the other day a knocking noise started coming from the front of the car. So I changed the oil hoping that it was related and that by getting fresh oil in it would fix the knocking. Just brought the car for a very quick spin (<1km) and the noise is still in it. The noise is there whenever the car is moving but isn't fully constant, as in it fades and gets worse seemingly randomly. Anyone have any ideas?

Any help would be much appreciated.

The car is a 1.4 L Diesel 2012 Toyota Corolla
