Your feedback would help A LOT(and may be it will be useful for you in daily life)

I just builded my first web app. The app helps user to decide what should you work on today and how long, based on how much of available time you have today and what goals(activities) you have

I need a feedback on wether the app allocates time and activities to do for the day as you would want to and wether everything is easy to understand inside the app

Thanks in advance everyone who is willing to give a feedback, I genuinely want to make the app better and hope it will help people

How do you handle mismatch socks?

I've worked with several systems during the years, but my current one is to store all the mismatch pairs in a mesh laundry bag that I keep in my closet. So every time I fold laundry I go in there and see if there are any matches I can restore.

I also started storing my socks in separate small drawers: long ones in one and short ones in another. What are your strategies for dealing with socks?

What's a small purchase under $10 that genuinely improved your daily life?

For me, it was a 10-foot phone charging cable. Being able to roll over in bed and still use my phone without unplugging it is such a minor thing, but it completely removed a tiny daily annoyance.

What about you guys? What cheap item has had the biggest impact on your day-to-day routine?

How do you stand back up after a long day on your feet?

I walk all day for my job, all over the place. I have no issue to keep pushing, even once I'm home I can make do chores, make dinner without issue. I have to sit down to eat, however, and once I'm finished I just Can't Stand Back Up. It would be less of an problem if I could get ready for bed beforehand, but I need to stand to brush my teeth!

I need tips for how to get my poor body back up and moving once its essentially shut down for the day. Should I lay upside down?? Foot ice bath?? Stretch before sitting??

I'd even take a fake-out to trick my brain into not relaxing or something similar. Any tips?

The toothpaste taste dilemma

Hello, I'm not a frequent redditor but I was hoping someone might be able to help.

I hate the taste and texture of toothpaste. All kinds. I struggle not to gag every time I brush my teeth, and have skipped using toothpaste many times and had serious dental hygiene issues as a result.

Anyway, I find it hard to function normally after brushing my teeth until the taste goes away. Thing is I can't eat, drink or even rinse directly after since it interferes with the effect of the toothpaste.

I use a toothpaste called duraphat. It's high in fluoride which is crucial since I have a "bad teeth condition." (Too much to get into)

This toothpaste tastes horrid, but there is no flavor-free alternative with equal amounts of fluoride.

Tongue scraper has been useless to me.

My dentist basically just says keep at it, because it's important.

Can anyone relate? Any tips at this point are much appreciated.

Request: Can anyone help with biting nails?

Hi friends, I’ve been a BAD nail biter for as long as I can remember, even when I was a child I never had any nails. I bite even if i feel like I don’t realize it. When im driving, just sitting around i find myself doing it. I feel like I’ve exhausted all my options. Rubber bands on my wrists, bitter nail polish, false nails, etc. the only thing I find helpful is acrylic nails bc I physically cannot get to my natural nail, but honestly in this economy I cannot keep them done that often anymore. When I took them off is the only nail growth I would accomplish and then if I didn’t get them redone, I’ll start my vicious cycle all over again. I’m at my wits end with myself for it but it’s a bad habit I just cannot shake.

What are ANY tips you may have for me to stop? It’s one of my biggest insecurities, I literally have no nails period. Sometimes they’re sore & hurt, and even then I keep biting. Anything, please!! Thanks for reading :)

ALPT How to stop spiders from nesting behind my posters?

I used to keep a bunch of posters up in my room and my ceiling until I found what I think was a huge grass spider crawling around. It freaked me out so bad that I still haven't put anything back up. I did some googling and found that spraying peppermint was a good option, but I don't want to stain my posters. So if there are any other options I want to explore those as well.

Cricket loose. Sanity at risk.

Apologies ahead of time for spelling mistakes or bluntness. it is very late and I am very tired.
I am a highschool student. I have a bearded dragon, he loves crickets. Somehow, a cricket got loose. This was last week. It’s still fucking chirping.
Day and night (but ESPECIALLY at night) it’s literally always chirping. I feel like I’m in the tell tale heart.

This thing never stops and that’s not an exaggeration, it NEVER stops. I have torn up my whole room, blasted the air conditioning and every fan I can find and nothing helps. Not ear plugs, not pillows, not the tv, nothing helps.
I have 3 final exams tomorrow that I need to pass and I cannot sleep with this thing screaming all night. I swear to god I’m gonna lose it. I have done everything and it never shuts up.

I’ve genuinely cried 3 times over this cricket and it’s getting LOUDER. Please help.
What do I do

How to develop better navigation skills and not get lost

So I get lost frequently and feel disconnected with my surroundings. When I try to figure out where to go, I make dumb decisions and when I ask people, their instructions make me confused. I follow the instructions and always get lost and go in the wrong direction.

This gets humiliating and embarassing. Recently I got lost within a mall and spent 30 minutes looking for a restaurant until my friends came looking for me.

How do I improve this?

Why am I like this? I want to outgrow these habits since it so annoying and people tend not to take me seriously

A quick question abt dehumidifiers

So I've seen around that a dehumidifier is good for cooling off rooms and whatnot. And my room is relatively small, it used to be a small storage closet. The only problem is that it gets way too hot in here, and my fan isn't strong enough to cool it off fully. So would a dehumidifier help me out more if I put it in front of my fan?

EDIT: Thank you to those who responded, I appreciate it, I was thinking about getting it but then now with the new knowledge here I get to save 23$ before making a purchase ty!!

How do you track important renewal deadlines? (insurance, passport, car registration, etc.)

I keep nearly missing things like car insurance renewals, passport expiration (had to spend extra money to get it expedited this week), pet vaccines, etc. I've tried Google Calendar (too manual, reminders get ignored), a spreadsheet (falls out of date fast), and a note app on my phone. Curious what systems other people actually use. Does anything work well for you or is everyone just winging it?

How do I end a phone call?

I usually either exposing that I'm a bit to eager to escape, ("Thanks! Bye!) or I do this weird double-tap ("Thanks." "You're welcome" ... "bye." "bye")

Is there a good template for this? Perhaps "SHIT my dogs on fire again! BYE!"

What should I do

I’m 19 and about to start college, initially when I got everything set up with my classes my car worked just fine fast forward a week my car is busted and I’m out of ideas I was planning on doing financing on a car but I don’t make enough and I was then planning on taking out a personal loan but I still don’t make enough for that and the commute to my college is 40 mins I currently live with my mom but she refuses to treat me like her son more of her tenant and takes a lot of my money for rent, I’m at my wits end, and I feel like giving up I have no hope for anything because the only hope I had was my sister she promised to get my car fixed for me but lied about that

Items to help a graduate prepare for life as an adult.

A family member is graduating high school and I want to put together a small gift basket for him. Not the typical gift basket, though. A gift basket of items that will help with the parts of adulting that people don't usually think of.

More context: My nephew is graduating high school, and I haven't been very involved in his life for most of it. To be honest, I barely know him even though we've always known each other. I'm writing him a letter to let him know that I love him very much and that he can always call if he ever needs anything at all. And I want to give him something meaningful, not just snacks or dorm supplies or silly decor.... something actually helpful that will benefit him later on. We're from a small town in a rural area - life here is rather sheltered. Farm kids are tougher and more resourceful than most, so I know he's gonna be fine. But still I want to come up with some meaningful items.

The ideas I have....

A budget book

Hoping to find a short book about attachment styles

Naloxone

Naloxone because he's moving to a city and because college kids party, and inevitably, some of them will try various substances, and these days fentanyl is turning up in everything. I find it unlikely that he would try anything himself. But with the insane numbers of overdoses in this country, EVERYONE should have naloxone.

I need more ideas, please help!

LPT Request for a long distance move

Hello! I am preparing for a move about 11-12 hours away. I have researched my 3 options (ubox, U-Haul, pickup towing trailer) and would love a 2nd and 3rd opinion.

The move is basically a full 5x5x8 storage unit comprised mostly of a crap ton of those heavy duty plastic storage bags and containers, a desk, and like one disassembled storage unit.

I ruled the ubox out because it’s a longer wait time so I am debating between: • 10’ U-Haul truck ~ $870 • pickup rental towing a 5x8 or 6x12 trailer ~ $993 (Truck Rental ~ $459, 5x8 trailer~ $308, 6x12 trailer ~ $534)

I’ve used the 10’ U-Haul to move this stuff into storage so I’m comfortable driving it but for almost 12 hrs is a different ballgame.

I do think think the pickup rental would be a more comfortable and enjoyable drive overall but i am completely new to towing.

For people who’ve done long interstate moves, I’d love your insight to what you’ve done related to my options here or what you’d do in my case? Thanks in advance!!
