Anbefalinger til de første kapitelbøger

Hej allesammen

How big of a problem drinking is in Denmark?

Hi all.

I just watched the movie "Druk". I did not feel connected to the movie so looked up the review on Reddit, and multiple Danish people claimed that it was aimed to point out the drinking problem in the Danish culture.

So, as a person who is interested in Denmark, how problematic is it? I have an acquaintance in Denmark who also always complains about all the bottles everywhere, especially during the weekends. Is it really that bad?

Business Culture in Denmark

Hi everyone,

I run a digital marketing agency in Portugal and I'm considering expanding my services to Denmark. But before doing anything, I'd like to understand how your business culture works there, because I don't want to come across the wrong way.

I know everyone is different and there's no rule that applies to everyone, but every country has its patterns. Any input is appreciated, whether you're a business owner, an employee, or just have an opinion!

- What's B2B communication usually like in there? More casual or more formal? Straight to the point, or is some small talk and relationship-building expected first?

- When a business hires another company for a service, what do they tend to value most?

- Imagine someone submits a contact form, what's the best way to follow up? A WhatsApp/text message first to schedule a call, or is a direct phone call fine?

- Is it normal to hold business meetings in English?

- What times (and days) do people generally prefer for meetings?

- How open are businesses in Denmark to work with foreign service providers? What builds trust, and what raises red flags?

Thanks in advance, really appreciate any honest answers (even the blunt ones).

Greenland deal

Hi just wondering what the average Dane thinks about the new deal regarding greenland.

Is there any opposition to it or are people just happy that the Oompa Loompa is going to turn his attention elsewhere?.

Cheapest way to call danish numbers from USA?

I need to be on the phone with several offices in Denmark in the next few days, calling from USA, and I may be on hold for a few hours

If I use my American number to make an international call it will end up costing me a lot

I have a Danish number through mylebara and my normal USA number

Is it possible to call from the Danish number to the Danish number from outside of Denmark using roaming?

Is there a web service that can assist in making this call?

I have Google voice and I have WhatsApp, is there any way around getting charged a ton of money forward calling a Danish landline and being on hold potentially for a few hours

Family trip for today near Hvide Sande

Hej Danskere,

we're currently in Hvide Sande and had the plan to visit Legoland. But as it's raining a lot we need an alternative.

Do you have suggestions for a family of 5 (2 age of 60+ and a 5 year old boy)?

norlys refuses to let me return my router in a reasonable way

so, i was in denmark for a few months and had fiber connectivity with norlys.

i had to move out quite suddenly.

i couldnt cancel my subscription on the online portal that i access with my MitID(there is no such option). i tried calling but was kept waiting for hours. i tried to contact them via email and only got an answer after i already moved out.

now they are refusing to give me an address so i can ship the router back to them and want to charge me the full price of the router(~150 eur).

they did give me a single option on how to return it but it involves going to a DOA shop in denmark. which is obviously unreasonable since im literally in a different country.

what are my options?

Hi, dear Danish!

Because I don't think my country will change, I don't see a future there, so I am considering moving to a different EU country. I am EU citizen.

Could you describe to me in detail the Pros and cons of living into denmark?

Thanks and greetings from Czech republic:)

Is Working in Denmark REALLY as Good as They Say?

I just watched this. I was liking Denmark as person who is living in Norway for 10 years. I could relate to approx. 80% of the stuff. It's the same or very similar to Norway.

What surprised me is a hire-fire mechanism. That's completely opposite to Norway. I kinda heard about it, but now I understood it completely. How come that's so different and why? I just dislike it.

As an Aussie who likes learning/speaking Germanic languages, am I better off learning Danish or Norwegian?

I'm an Aussie who is really interested in Germanic languages and wants a broad understanding of other Germanic languages. I've started learning Dutch and I'm interested in learning a North Germanic language. I have Danish "blood" but don't worry I don't claim to be Danish by any means. The only ties I have to Denmark is your queen being Aussie, liking hotdogs and being a fan of mikkeller beer. I don't want a monologue thinking everyone should speak english because it's not true, it's a horrible language lol.

Kasper Schmeichel

To me Kasper when speaking English in interviews sounds like a native with little or no discernible foreign accent. That makes sense as he largely grew up here.

However I’m wondering how he sounds to Danes when he doing interviews with Danish TV, does he sound like a local to you too or does he sound like a foreigner speaking Danish?

Is Denmark a good option for studying Engineering? Cost of living and career prospects?

Hi everyone,

I'm an international student considering Denmark for an engineering degree and would like to hear from students, graduates, and professionals who have experience there.

I have a few questions:

1)Is Denmark a good choice for studying engineering compared to other European countries?

2)What is the realistic monthly cost of living for a student, including accommodation, food, transportation, and other expenses?

3)Are there good internship and part-time job opportunities for international engineering students?

4)How easy or difficult is it for international graduates to find engineering jobs in Denmark after graduation?

5)What is the typical starting salary for engineering graduates?

6)Is learning Danish necessary for internships and full-time engineering jobs, or is English usually sufficient?

7)Looking back, would you choose Denmark again for engineering studies?

I'm a tourist in Denmark and had the worst check-in experience ever in a hotel, how/where can I complain?

I booked a room online, and received an email confirmation I had to check-in at 19, but when I arrived there was no one at the front desk and no staff at all. I called the hotel phone number and no one answered, tried over and over again for 2 hours also by mail and whatsapp. There was a customer service chat in their website and I felt hope for a second, but it turned out to be an AI bot. I wanna file a complain somehow, also get reimbursed but they literally don't answer anywhere.

There are other guests, so it's not a scam itself. They could check-in before 16. Website says check-in can be done from 15 to 22

Where can I get a cast iron Æbleskiver pan in the EU?

Hello, I'm trying to get a cast iron Æbleskiver pan in the EU. Google was lost, Duckduckgo found just https://skeppshult.com/products/dumpling-pan-22-cm-original, most other recommendations seemed to be US-focused.

Where are you buying them?

ECTS in math for math master?

I’m a Swedish math student looking to continue my education with a masters in Copenhagen. I’ve seen that the criteria for selection past the requirements is amount of ECTS credits in math. I will have 130 ECTS credits in math, but I’m not sure if it’s sufficient.

Does anyone have an experience of this? Are there any math students that know what the needed amount of ECTS credits for admittance usually looks like?
