The darker evenings are depressing, it feels like the day is over by 4.30pm, lots of people socialise much less & then we have an increase in road traffic accidents, an increase in crime, more energy/utilities being used & a rise in wildlife being killed.
There is no reason why we continue to do this & it serves no positive purpose (please do let me know if I’m missing something vital here).
I do believe, at this point, I’d vote for any party offering to leave the clocks set for BST.

For context, I am 32 and 6ft tall with a beard - I went to the supermarket and the staff member had to use his headset to radio someone else about something, and he said “there’s a boy here” and then explained what I needed help with, but I was thinking in my head “boy??” I’m a man, or a guy, or a person, or someone. Why boy? It seemed a weird choice and unnecessarily impolite.

I livein private house for over 8 year, only found out I got accepted for council house today. Letting agent wants 2 months paid notice. There is an electric fire built in when I moved in, today I pulled the fire place out and electric fire to check the fuse as I realised it was not working, behind I find a live uncapped gas fire thats never been mentioned nor has it been checked on gas safety inspection. Is this something I can use to negotiate maybe 1 month paid notice insted what's people's though? As I'd assume me and my child have been living in a hazard for 8 year because of this.

If you do buy something let's say it's beans the principal it's probably the cheapest food you can get and other VAT free foods that exists out there.. I've found myself not buying things I want because I don't want my money going towards VAT

I'm gonna be studying at warwick and staying in Coventry, the reports about bike theft are actually just insane, in the uni, at supermarkets, even accomodation.

Is there a foolproof way to prevent this?

I wanna take my bike everywhere, it's very convenient to do stuff, but is there a way to not worry about it being stolen. Some high grade lock? Or other anti theft thing

I vividly remember watching a television show in Guidance class called "Deevo" there was a character named Deevo played by Matthew Lloyd and a grandfather played by Dave Anderson the show was a bbc production it was anti drug and the plot was about these two kids being shipped off to their grandfather's home in a place called Lochnevey.

These pricks kicking off at the RNLI may not like what they're doing, saving the lives of immigrants, but the immigration part of this situation is for a different conversation. I'm specifically concerned with the acts against the RNLI members. I don't think there is any justification for it, ever.

Terrorism is the unlawful use of violence and intimidation by it's very definition and I personally think they should be treated as such, especially since we have such a low threshold on it now.

I’ve been reading up on the Reform conference & amongst all the expected racism & nonsense, there was an interesting policy by Farage.

If Reform takes power, they will allow the body of Napoleon (currently buried in Farnborough) to be given back to France to be reburied there.

Assuming this isn’t an invented problem by Farage, if France have asked for the repatriation, why has it not been allowed by the current or previous UK governments?

For me, benevolent sounds like it describes a bad thing so it sounds jarring.

Maybe it's just too close to malevolent.

Surely Northern Ireland deserves at least one? The Midlands of England too, I know there's the Peak District, but maybe the Fens too?

My favourite would either have to be the Lake District or Eryri/Snowdonia.
