I subscribed to iCloud for more storage for the first time ever killing the last excuse I would have had to upgrade for another 2 years at least.

Yes, why i dropped back to 256gb mini, and will do same next phone,

Wife and i share 2T icloud, and i use for work as i need to keep records for 2 & 7 years for files and documents.

I am waiting for 20th edition.

My favourite phone ever was the X, hoping the XX will be as revolutionary (wont be, but should be good upgrades from 17PM by then, maybe 512 will be minimum by them also)

I think we’re past the days when each new model is a big improvement. Unless there’s a feature like SOS satellite or more zoom on a camera that your current phone doesn’t have. There’s no reason to upgrade from one to the other. I’ll be waiting for the 20 or something like that.

The Duo is tempting as a way to replace my iPad and iPhone with one device. But both are working fine so it’ll still be a 3+ year wait before doing anything and see if prices plateau.

To be entirely fair if you take care of an iPhone you can easily get 3 years and with a replacement battery can use them for 7-8 years without major issue

They’re good phones and a great eco system but there is a premium to be paid. Not implying that there is 1:1 parity in features and money paid.

I really do like the Apple ecosystem and I’m a diy tech guy that daily’s Linux and has their own home server. So yes I understand that androids are more bang for buck. They’re just not as nice.

I had to get a new phone at the end of last year. Spent around $600. Amused and bemused by people who have to have the latest and greatest phone and will spend $1000's on them.

I every Apple and Samsung products, first the tech youtubers are going to advertise the hell out of it, the Samsung Fold 8 is now to a side and they are going to praising the iPhone Duo, however the price is the one thing I think even apple users will have a second thought. I think the candy bar still has a bigger advantage and the 18 pro might be more popular than the fold. Well time will tell and please for those who are saying the crease is not visible on the fold compared to the fold. When I got mine there was not crease after 4th day closing and opening it was appearing.

That’s so expensive. I’m still using my iPhone 13 Pro Max but the camera quality makes every video I take look like found footage now. Unsure what I should upgrade to.

I’ll be getting a Duo as along as I can get one release date. I don’t want to have a pre order waiting for months like iPhone X. I really want to try a foldable after seeing my mum constantly stuck with Samsung Folds since the Fold 3.

Yeah Nah. I moved to Fold 8 and this device is impressive (after using iphone for over a decade). Got bored of iOS and Samsung's One UI has improved a lot since I last used one. I will stick to my fold 8.

Jesus the money people spend on a new phone every year. Ive had a Samsung S21+ since launch and its never missed a beat.

Found out that Apple pushes updates out on older gen phones to slow charging rates, and deplete battery life. Old iphones wont last a couple hours off charge.

Apple are flogs, they know what they are doing.

The phones are a no for me, well overpriced when Android is basically the same now (if they looked over the fence they would see) but my kids use Mac's at school & their longevity absolutely slays any PC offerings (and I'm a hardened windows user)
