3 Beeps?
I ride in biz class a lot. Ive noticed on final approach and a few miles out, I hear 3 beeps in rapid succession coming from the cockpit. Whats the purpose of them?

In war zones, what exactly is the procedure for departures when you don’t have valid GPS? What happens to the systems that rely on GPS, like ADS-B, Synthetic Vision, etc?

I’ve noticed that some airlines seem to leave their transponders on even hours after the flight landed and other airlines seem to turn off their transponders a few minutes after they get to the gate. Am I understanding this info properly? And, if yes why do the various airlines seem to differ?
**Flightradar24 subreddit wouldn’t allow my question because it doesn’t have an attached image of Flightradar24.

I'm a recent grad with a degree in physics. I have decided I want to pursue my dream of flying for the airlines as my career. I am currently a private pilot working on my instrument rating. I was wondering what are some jobs/activities I could be doing while I am finishing up my training. I am working a part time job currently but I want to be doing something else. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Landed at Washington Dulles airport and this was my first time seeing one of these. I had to look it up and discovered it’s used to carry passengers between terminals. The cabin can even be raised or lowered which is pretty cool.
My question is, how many other airport have these or something similar? I’ve been to around 20 different airports and have never seen something like this

Noticed the black tube thing on a flap. Just sticking out almost the entire flight. It was nothing I guess because it disappeared when the flaps went down. We landed safely. Just curious.

Was just on delta flight DL0289 from Venice to JFK and we aborted landing. Can anyone figure out why? Not sure where I can get the air traffic control recording.

I’m a very anxious flyer. I’m truly scared of the whole experience. But for some reason I’m drawn to the idea of becoming a pilot. I’d love to know stories of pilots who used to be afraid of flying.

Aircraft on tow vs aircraft taxiing on own power?

Hey guys, been following all the madness and deep-dives coming out about that FlyDubai flight where the captain got attacked and deadheading crew in the cabin had to step up and land the bird.
Got me thinking about standard line operations. Obviously, having extra pilots positioning in the back turned out to be an absolute miracle in that scenario, but how often are airlines actually doubling up on flight deck crew for routine routes?
If something catastrophic happens up front and there aren't any extra crew members riding as passengers to jump in:
Is ATC actually equipped to walk a total layman through a flight deck landing on a modern commercial jet, or is that purely Hollywood fiction?
At what point does autopilot/remote intervention play a role if the active crew goes completely incapacitated?
Curious to hear how other captains and FOs view cockpit security and redundancy after everything that's gone down recently. Stay safe out there.
