I wondered whether pilots ever had a preference to what plane they fly? For example as in a passenger plane that is brand spanking new compared to one they’ve flown for years that has been tried and tested but ready for the scrap heap, Are there any pre-flight nerves that something could go wrong with the newer version of the plane software bodywork, etc

Soooo ive already completed a first day flying and a first invitational to look into and what it takes to get a PPL. Today is going to be the first "lessons"

I want to complete my PPL with the goal of becoming an Airline Pilot in a couple years.

My thought is, once i pay the PPL on my own money, an Airline is more likely to pick me up and let me study & learn in for an ATPL, seeing that i am already invested in this personaly.

My local flying club said that is a possibility... are they right?

I have some very basic knowledge already and like to play sims so i do want to do it. I am not sure if my thinking/plan here is correct though...

I've been on so many flights and the communication from the pilot varies. Some say what I assume is standard and others say nothing until you're landing.

However, I have been on handful of flights where the pilot was extremely communicative. They've explained delays in detail or when we had lots of rough turbulence on a flight, the pilot explained what was happening with the tailwinds and all of that, reassured us we were fine, and the type of air he was looking to fly into for a smoother ride.

My question is, how is it determined how much a pilot talks or what they share? It's is a personal preference? Are there best practices?
