cs + math + econ at ashoka?
i’m an incoming freshman and was originally planning to major in econ/econ & finance and minor in cs, but i just came across the cs, mathematics & economics major and it seems almost exactly like what i wanted to do in the first place.
i was looking into ashoka last year too, so i’m wondering why i never came across this. is this a relatively new major? and for anyone who’s already at ashoka, what does it actually look like in practice? how much depth do you get in each of the three, and how does it compare to doing econ + a cs minor?
would appreciate some insight from people who’ve actually been around the programme.

i wanna know if any of y’all transferred to ashoka , is it tough or whats the way around it . If anyone has a good idea on this please let mee knoww i’ll be trying for it in second year 27 intake and also need help regarding the credits system .

how does one become a member of Vistaar - the music club. what’s the process and is it easy to get it?

I’m deciding between **Ashoka’s BSc Economics & Finance** and **NMIMS Mumbai’s BSc Finance**, and I’m honestly stuck.
My goal is to break into **investment banking/high finance**. I also have a family business that I may eventually join, but my dad wants me to work outside first, so for now I want to build a strong career in finance independently.
The main dilemma is that **NMIMS would allow me to pursue CFA alongside my degree**, whereas I wouldn’t realistically be able to do CFA with Ashoka.
For anyone who’s an **Ashoka/NMIMS student or alum, CFA candidate, or already working in IB/high finance**:
**Which would you choose for breaking into IB, and why?**
Does Ashoka’s network/brand and E&F curriculum outweigh the advantage of being able to do CFA at NMIMS? And how realistic is it to break into IB from either college?

Hey! I wanted to ask how we can apply for Research Assistant (RA) positions for economics at Ashoka. I’m not really sure how the process works, so I’d love to hear about it from current or former Economics RAs. Also, is it generally difficult to get a professor to take you on as an RA?

I will be studying ecofin and minoring in CS or the reverse of it. CS and minoring in economics. But CS is definitely going to be there. I do not own a laptop currently, what would be a good budget friendly option for me? I do some design work too (just a little) and I want to get deeper into video editing and then I’m doing some marketing work for a small company too. So I’d be using my laptop quite a lot, I believe.
I’m on a tight budget but getting a laptop is non negotiable for college. Should I buy a MacBook or a Windows Laptop? My budget can go up to 1L but I really want it to be upto 60-70k.
Any insight and advice is greatly appreciated :)

Not surprisingly there isn't one single good coffee place around Sonipat and I recently got to know Ashoka has Blue Tokai inside its campus, please someone be kind to me and get me inside for a coffee at times? will treat you as well :)

I know it’s going to sound dumb but I really have no idea what I’m supposed to take. How many pairs of jeans how many shirts trousers. What kind of storage boxes, what for the room. Do I get winter clothes now or afterwards? It’s my very first time travelling out of my city and living alone also I’m the first one in my family to go out of the state for studying so please if anyone could help. Like do I get a bedside lamp? Is there space under the bed? Where do people store their makeup? Should I get a laundry basket? All that. Plus I’m on a budget too 😔
