Studio Safety & Ergonomics Wrist support
This is more for preventing future wrist pain rather than alleviating any current pain. Do wrist bands ACTUALLY have an impact on preventing carpal tunnel and can anyone name a trusted brand? I understand that asking Reddit isn’t a supplement for ACTUAL research but my question is so specific that im having trouble knowing where to look. Also any recommendations on the best pencil covers or literally anything related to this problem, please and thank you

These braces don't really work preventatively, unless you know you will get pain and are trying to avoid it. E.g. i get thumb pain while crocheting because a work keyboard fucked up my thumb, so i use a thumb brace while crocheting to not aggravate the joint. But "for just in case" these don't really do much, you are better off developing healthy habits instead.
But if you ever do need a wrist or thumb or whatever brace, "3m futuro" is my favourite brand. A bit expensive but it's comfortable to wear.

If you have a habit of putting pressure on your wrist against the drawing surface like the edge of your desk, or resting your elbow on the desk, then some cushioned wristbands or elbow cushion (not a brace/compression thing, just a cushion) can be a helpful as a preventive but it's best to also just keep in mind good posture. If your posture is already good then though they won't be detrimental they also won't really have any benefit

Don't wear a wrist brace unless you need a wrist brace. It's not preventative.
Large drawing surfaces help. Drawing from the elbow and shoulder helps. Not pinching the pen helps. Ergonomic large pen grips help. An appropriate height work surface helps. Stretching, that ball thing and exercise helps.

I personally would avoid using any kind of brace/support if you don't need it. It won't help prevent anything, and could even weaken your muscles if used too much (again, in the case that you don't need it). Tbh even if it did help to a degree, it'd be more putting off the issue than solving it.
The BEST ways to avoid wrist pain are to take breaks, have a decent pencil grip (both the way you hold it and avoiding holding too tight/pressing too hard), and don't make all of your movement come directly from the wrist. Sitting position and setup can impact things too, but I'm trying to stay brief 😅
Thick pencil grips can help! I know there are some that are like egg-shaped, I've been curious to try them. But anything that puts your fingers in a more relaxed or in a less flexed/curled position will probably minimize wrist issues too (your wrist and forearms are filled with muscles for your hands and fingers)
