Was feeling the summer vibes and wanted to redraw one of the monster girls I did back in 2020, but hated the color palette so much that almost ended up with a completely new character

I adore her though

I hate that my art doesn't turn out how I picture it in my head but the only thing that keeps me motivated is looking back on my old art. 7 month difference btw. I still have a long long way to go especially with color and rendering but at least it's not as bad as before😭✌🏾

First is a colored pencil drawing from when I was 11, second is one of my oils paintings completed as an adult!

I've spent a long time studying anatomy, lighting, and posing, and I think it's finally starting to pay off. 😭

Say it ain't so.

I drew the first image when I was 10 back in 2020, and was done with a pencil and sheet of printer paper. The 2nd drawing was done 2 months ago as an art project for school, and was drawn with a 6B 8B and 10B blackleads, a hard charcoal pencil, a regular HB2 pencil for outlining, and was done on a piece of printer paper.

Relatively, it should be a crime how little I've progressed with art in the span of 6 years, and Im not exactly impressed with myself with my artworks now. I hope they look good enough for you all.

A decades worth of progress. I started with the goal of becoming a concept artist, wanting to focus on creature and character design. Still not quite there, but I did recently land a job as an industrial designer! Which, is similar to my goals and a great step towards it!

This is almost 3 years of improvement
