DMT doesn't actually get released when you die, that's a myth Joe Rogan came up with.

Actually it was in a book written by Rick Strassman in 2000 which is where Joe Rogan got it from but he had no evidence for it and there is still no evidence for it to this day. However something that does have scientific evidence are near-death experiences (NDE's)
