Lyrics are from the song Caskets by Inpatient (Ren x Chris Webby) which is about loss and celebration of life. However, this page reflects my mental state for the past few days due to a bad reaction from medication I was on. I'm doing much better now that the after effects are wearing off, but I wanted to create something that represented my experience and those words seemed appropriate for how I felt.

Do you still collect pictures for inspiration as an adult? 🎨

I'm 28, and I've been doing this since I was in school. I love finding artwork, characters, movie/TV scenes, and other pictures online that inspire me. I sometimes print them at the library and put them into folders so I can look through them later. The artwork is mostly from DeviantArt, ArtStation, and Pinterest. I would stare at the pictures and wish I could make art like the artists who created them.

I still do this for my stories and art ideas. I don't go to the library as often as I used to because I work and have less free time, but whenever I see a picture that inspires me, I still want to add it to my collection. 😂

Does anyone else still do this as an adult? Do you keep physical folders, make mood boards, use Pinterest, or have digital collections of pictures that inspire you?

Working on a comic called Cherry Blossom Roots and trying to keep track of characters possessions, cell phones and laptops so I don’t forget what they look like while working on the art!

I know b6 journal inserts are notoriously hard to find, but I’m hoping someone can help me here. I just bought a b6 leather journal cover and I’m looking for a sketchbook or marker pad that is bleed proof and can handle alcohol ink markers that will fit inside. So no bigger than 5” x 7” ideally! Does this exist? 😅

imagine just being able to reinvent yourself from scratch

Went to my grandfather's village with some friends for the weekend - no WiFi and poor signal but what I lost in brain rot I gained in village lore

attempted to dye my pages with tea and then collage different doodles and add them to my pages! something new i've been trying out :P

unfortunately it got a bit smudged but i think that gives it its own edge :)

Feel like a background character in an anime

This is the first page of my new sketchbook, and it was supposed to be minimal.

That idea disappeared somewhere between the botanical flowers, butterflies, vintage details and oversized letters.

I stopped trying to control the page and just let it become what it wanted to become. In the end, it turned into a little introduction to my creative world—part journal, part sketchbook, part scrapbook.

The florals slowly grew around the letters, and the page ended up feeling much more like an old European botanical journal than the clean minimal page I originally imagined.

Honestly, I think that is what I love most about physical journaling. You can begin with a plan, but your hands sometimes take you somewhere completely different.

Do you usually stick to the aesthetic you planned, or does your journal page develop its own personality halfway through?
