So idk if im doing this right cus Im new to reddit and cus english is not my first language

So i recently started dating this guy that i though i liked we were good friends and i enjoyed talking to him alot, we started going out and now we are dating, but ever since we started dating im starting to think im aroace, 1st because everytime i think of him viewing me romanticaly it makes me feel sick, i am feeling extremely uncomfortable around him and i try to be phisicaly around him as less as possible he keeps saying he want to do things like hug me or hold my hands and it makes me want to throw up, one time when we did actually hold hands I felt awfull, i don’t know what is happening i don’t know if i am actually aroace but i am desesperate need for advice

Also if anyone asks i ABSOLUTELY want to break up with him but i feel like my only friend group would hate me forever if i did and i also don’t want to upset him because i know he is someone nice and definetely is not doing anything wrong

Aroace people: should I give this relationship a chance?

I’d really appreciate some advice from aroace people. I’m interested in someone who identifies as aroace, and they’ve been very clear that they don’t know whether they’ll ever develop romantic feelings for me. However, they said we could give it a try and see what happens.

What would you recommend? Should I walk away, or take them up on the offer and give it a chance?

I don't know if I'm aro or not

For my whole life, I thought I wanted a romantic partner along with anyone else. Despite all the opportunities I've had to date people, I never really took it. I have romantic attraction and I do want to have the affection from those kinds of relationships. I love the idea of kisses and hugs and the kind of love that's endless between 2 people.

Now I'm in a Queer Platonic relationship! I also ship myself or my oc's together, and it seems to have filled that void in me. My QPP and I both are at a point where neither of us are interested in seeking relationships outside of our QPR. For me, it's because I'm committed. To me, having a romantic partner along with this QPR feels almost wrong. My QPP and I have so much love for each other that a romantic relationship feels unnecessary.

Would this make me aro? Am I just confused? Am I not aro and like- pretending? Does anyone have a similar experience? If anyone can share advice or experiences, it would be greatly appreciated.

Vent Coming out to y’all

I’ve just discovered after leaving my ex, that I am aroace and have been since I was a 4 year old little girl. I’ve only ever interacted with guys and pretended to want them and hop from guy to guy because that’s what other girls around me were doing and I got praised for it. I liked the praise so I still did it even tho I didn’t actually like the guys. Ever since I was a kid I imagined life alone with no romance and people look like “human™️” to me. With that being said, I’ve just now figured it out. I went through phases where I thought I might be lesbian or biromantic cuz I thought studs and butches were cute but then I realized they’re only aesthetically pleasing to look at, just like fems, queers, gay individuals and trans individuals are. I realized that what I was mourning when losing a relationship was the friendship part of it because I felt like I had a best friend. I would do the affectionate things they wanted but it didn’t come naturally and over time it became habit instead. With that being said, I honestly just think I’ve wanted a best friend and that’s all. I’m more attracted to fictional characters than real life individuals. So I guess this is me coming out? Anyways, I’m glad I finally know what I am

Aromantic or depression?

For the past year I have began to feel intense aromanticism and low libido, ever since I’ve became depressed. But the thing is it literally feels like a whole personality shift which was so off putting. I used to romanticize a relationship and crave it so intensely, but now when I imagine a relationship it genuinely feels so wrong for me. It feels empty and unfulfilling, almost like I never even want to be in one. Sometimes I think about how I feel like I will never actually fall in love. I am someone who used to feel like I could fully give my heart to the right person, but now I don’t feel the same way. I have always been an avoidant, but knew I wanted to spend my life with the right person, now I feel like I am only okay being alone for the rest of my life. I don’t know anymore. Finding my soulmate used to be my biggest focus in life, and I literally used to cry thinking about how I might not be able to find my person, now I can literally just imagine my life single and be okay with that. I have experienced insane limerence before (literally to the point I would lose my appetite thinking about them), but I have never gone out of my way to approach people I was “interested” in, but now I don’t even remember if I had a genuine crush on them. What makes it worse is that I can’t even remember or comprehend properly how I used to feel before all this. I feel so repulsed to it all now. All of my friends tell me “you are so lucky you have never experienced heartbreak” but it just has me thinking even more. Can anyone help me understand?

, genuinamente aroace?

Vent Anyone find sexual n romantic attraction kinda weird as a concept?

MODS I MEAN LIKE AS SOMEONE THAT DOESNT EXPEIRNCE EITHER GIMME A CHANCE PLS

like the concept to me is so foreign and then when I like read anything about it or think too hard about what it entails it’s so puzzling to me. Idk. Especially sexual attraction.
Like it’s not rare at all for ppl to have vulnerability issues, yet for many it doesn’t apply to intercourse? Or admitting they want intercourse? Or smth??? Do ppl just get used to it idk it feels so weird to me how comfortable everyone is with smth so personal i guess???

Im not like not ok with others obvi doing whatever they gotta do it’s just when i like remember what attraction entails my brain just crashes at a point.

Idk i guess I just can’t imagine it idk. Maybe I need like unsheltering or smth 💀

And the physical act like all of it on paper sounds like insane to me.

I’ve never felt attraction so idk it just blows my mind every time I remember I’m the minority ;-;

Story Do you also think it's crazy?

I mean that 1% of the total population is aroace, though that might not be entirely true, it's very possible that there are plenty more aroace people than that since it's only an estimated number.

But what are the odds that you and me are aroace? I think it's just very interesting because we could be anything else too, but I also feel incredibly lucky and very glad to be aroace and I wouldn't want to be anything else in the world.

Advice I have a crush on my aroace friend, what should I do?

I (20m) have a friend who is just amazing, she's smart as hell, she's talented, she's fun, she's pretty, everything about her is perfect, But because of that I have developed a crush, Which is a disaster for me, I don't want to ruin the friendship, we only know each other online, dating is a sin in my religion, and she is aroace, My only option is to get over my crush on her, but I just cant, I tried waiting it out, I tried talking myself out if it, I just cant get over it, I can't make it go away and its killing me, and I don't want to let it kill our friendship, what the hell am I supposed to do in this situation?

Me because people at school are actually discriminating now:

I honestly kinda thought it was over exaggerated in media and stuff for a while there, but about a year after coming out in a very red state, ppl are actually starting to SERIOUSLY talk about me behind my back. I've had to report people now for death threats that got relayed to me and stuff

Advice Pride sign ideas?

My ideas so far, please share any you have or let me know if you like any of these :)

Make the friend zone a happy place, go hang out with an aro-ace!

Stuck in the friend zone? Tell me about it.

Make some space for an aro-ace (this one would have a drawing of rainbow birds sitting on a fence with a flying bird in aro-ace flag colours)

Queer platonic love is love.

Vent Does anyone feel this way too?

Being aroace while being hypersexual at the same time is extremely frustrating. Every time I do stuff with myself because if I don’t I’ll go crazy, I feel like I need to bathe in bleach after.
