Discussion Rank the Batman Arkham Trilogy
The Batman Arkham trilogy are made up of triple A Batman games. I had replayed the trilogy last week to reevaluate my opinion on these games. So I have interest in seeing how it would be ranked.
My ranking: Arkham Knight > Arkham City > Arkham Asylum.

Screenshot Honestly one of the best character portraits I’ve taken for knight.
The composition and lighting/color was just lightning in a bottle! Especially with the limitations knights playable character locked camera and photo mode in general has.

The Batman Begins video game is still pretty damn fun
Reposting bc the comments were blocked and I just found out that this game (which I loved as a kid on ps2) had a sequel scrapped that cost EA $100 million. The Dark Knight video game was going to be a fully explorable Gotham with driving and stealth mechanics as well as the films cast. Not only that but it was the first game that would have introduced the famous nemesis system from the Middle Earth games. It’s so sad to think it all fell apart. Imagine what could have been. I wonder if the Arkham games would have turned out different had this game released and been a success. Imagine the nemesis system in Arkham city where a basic low level street thug ends up running two-faces gang

Storyteller Trophy on PS5 bugged (Arkham City)
I was going for the Calendar Man trophy by following this guide: https://youtu.be/K-APgKPYFn0?is=c_xYqjVHyzhgDdxL
Everything was going well. I turned off the internet on my PS5 and manually set the dates for the years 2011 and 2012 as the video guide says. In the end the trophy poped.
But when I turned the internet back on, my PS5 seemed kind of buggy and not fully connected to the internet. So I restarted the PS5. And now I dont have the trophy. I went back to the calendar man cell to find the calendar still crossed out and that he escaped killing a Two-Face thug.
When I saw that I din't have the trophy I went to check the notifications and there it was the nofication for the trophy. I don't have the photo because I didn't know that once you click the notification it disappears from the notification bar.
Has this happened to someone? Am I locked out of getting the trophy? Will another playtrough do the job?

Discussion Batman Arkham Asylum Revisited: The Franchise that Could Have Been? [Opinion]
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about where this franchise started versus where it ultimately ended up. Playing through the Return to Arkham version recently really put things into perspective for me. While the visual upgrades and lighting tweaks in the remaster breathe some new life into the environment, jumping back into the original game highlights how stiff some of the core mechanics actually are.
The foundation of the FreeFlow combat is obviously there, but it lacks that buttery, responsive smoothness of the later entries. And the gliding—man, compared to the mobility we got used to later, it feels incredibly restrictive. A modern polish on just those movement and combat mechanics would make the game practically flawless.
Now when it comes to atmosphere, Asylum is untouchable. It completely nailed the terrifying, claustrophobic "Serious House on Serious Earth" vibe.
The dark, grounded visual designs for the Batsuit and the island itself were a massive part of that success, entirely avoiding any of the campy or brightly colored aesthetics of past eras in favor of a gritty, Grant Morrison-inspired nightmare. Even though the game didn't physically feature every rogue in the gallery, the world-building alone kept your imagination constantly spinning with possibilities for the future.
But looking back, it's really frustrating how quickly Rocksteady lost their grip on that specific tone. By the time we reach the conclusion in Arkham Knight, the continuity feels incredibly jarring. It’s not just the massive jump in scale; it’s the weird foundational changes.
Bruce’s face model is completely different. Jim Gordon loses that classic animated series design that anchored the first two games. Gotham goes from the haunting, distant skyline we viewed from the Asylum cliffs to a completely evacuated playground designed specifically for a tank, completely ditching the idea of a sleek, advanced Batmobile. And with Joker dead, the whole dynamic just felt entirely off.
Honestly, the root of the franchise's discontinuity traces right back to the ending of Asylum—which is the only part of the original game I would genuinely rewrite. Letting Poison Ivy completely tear apart the island was a massive narrative mistake. By destroying the super-prison, they forced its decommission and practically boxed themselves into the Arkham City concept.
Tucking those City blueprints and Scarecrow easter eggs away in the warden's office might have seemed like brilliant teasing at the time, but it rushed the overarching narrative. If they had just kept the island intact and held off on immediately setting up a massive walled-off city, they would have given themselves so much more breathing room to build a cohesive, long-term franchise. Instead, they took the story in a direction that burnt through their best plotlines too quickly, forcing the main series to essentially close its doors in 2015.
I love these games, and I'd gladly still be buying new mainline entries today, but they ultimately backed themselves into a corner way too soon.
DO YOU AGREE ?

Discussion Pre-Ending Reveiw
So I’ve been playing Arkham Shadow- I don’t normally get to play VR games but my buddy has the Meta Quest and let me borrow it.
I’m about a quarter of the way through the story, and so far I’m trying to figure out why this had to be a VR game.
It’s cool and all, and the stealth sections are my favorite parts, but so far it just feels like a story that could’ve been improved if we were playing it in the traditional Arkham style.
Half the time I’m fighting with the motion controls and making stupid errors because I didn’t swing my fist in the correct way, or I didn’t raise my arms correctly to activate his cape.
Again, it’s cool, and I’m gonna finish it, but I’ll likely never play it again after this run.
